As if any further evidence is needed that diversity-obsessed activists will never be satisfied, an MSNBC host and her two guests found reason to be unhappy about the historic firsts of two black women who were elevated to the pinnacle of their professions, suggesting that new Harvard University President Claudine Gay and Supreme Court Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson have already been undermined by a system of oppression that has set them up for failure.
On Saturday’s edition of the “The Mehdi Hasan Show,” a segment was devoted to the so-called “glass cliff,” a theory that women who achieve leadership roles often are allowed to do so during times of crisis

There is an ad on TV for a diploma mill! Black girl talks about getting her degree and says “nobody can take that away from me”? I can’t even fathom this mindset?

Dr. Gay and Justice Brown Jackson have been elevated to some of the highest, most prestigious positions in the nation. One would think this would be a cause for celebration. Yet somehow, liberals still manage to see this as a bad thing. Just goes to show that liberals and social justice warriors will never be satisfied. NEVER SATISFIED!

I'm so sick of this garbage! There's always a boogie-man out there trying to trip up all the liberals. Good grief. Sorry, life is full of crises. That's an excuse. If they fail, it's because they were not equipped to do the jobs.

A story out today about Whoopi Goldberg - she claims we're all racist. The woman is filthy rich, worth millions. Where does she think they came from? From white Americans who went to her movies. And she's making a lot with her sick TV show The View. Millions each year. If this is racism, I want some of it.

The article suggests people are tasked with almost impossible problems. They are set up to fail.
I suggest our new Black, radical, affirmative action, SCOTUS hire is not being setup to fail by being asked to judge an unwinnable situation...but this represents a chance to shape the narrative to her beliefs. She has the unique chance to be proactive rather than merely reactive. It is only an impossible situation if they allow it to be.

Either one of them is free to resign at any time. By the way, how does one set up a Supreme Court justice to fail?

The only thing that's set them up for failure is the fact that neither one is qualified for the job.

The pernicious effects of Affirmative Action are self-evident. When unqualified people are promoted to positions for which they are unprepared by intellect to handle, failure is the universal outcome. It is clear that the MSNBC panel members, being Affirmative Action graduates themselves, recognize the deficiencies in the subjects of their discussion, but as always, wish to deflect blame from the individuals under discussion to "society," by which they mean White People.

I love it that the SCOTUS gets to see Affirmative Action up close. I feel bad for our military which I suspect is becoming weaker because of inept and absent leadership.

The only thing holding them back is their woke, oppression-based thinking. Growing up and being told you can't do this or do that because your black and men and especially white men won't let you has a way of damaging the mind. Once the mind is damaged, it's almost impossible to repair it no matter what position one attains in life. Looking for insults becomes your way of thinking.

First, they whine about underrepresentation and then Hollywood, universities and workplaces bend completely the other direction. Then the whining about being set up for failure. Every time the qualifications involve ticking off X number of boxes, the increasing number of boxes needing to be ticked leads to lesser and lesser viable candidates. Their own system creates the failure instead of insuring that the best candidate is chosen. i happen to be the best slightly obese, near-sighted, conservative cook with my birthday living at my address-BFD, which makes me almost as qualified as any of these poor led to the slaughter runts of the litter, so to speak.

Rush Limbaugh repeatedly reminded us that leftists will forever push the envelope further to the left, and will never be content with any possible status quo.

I am amazed at the brazen shamelessness of those who claim that these two women (whatever their definitions!) were elevated to their lofty positions because they were the best available persons AND they are worthy of of their jobs. Time will only make things worse.

They reached the pinnacle of their professions with a big lift from the ladders of lower bars, diversity and inclusion. It may be symbolic but it does not count in the book of reality. For actual examples, see Justice Clarence Thomas, Dr. Ben Carson and Dr. Thomas Sowell. That is genuine black achievement for those who make note of skin color.

I was "set up for failure" once but turned the opportunity into a success. Afterwards I was often given the more difficult assignments. I often struggled but I never failed. I only regret that the continuous learning required took too much time and attention away from my growing family.

There failure or mediocre performances will have nothing to do with the color of their skin, believe me.

I had an affirmative action manager. Her emails were full of misspellings and bad punctuation. Her son was an "aspiring rapper" no husband. In meetings we literally could not understand her Ebonics. Clearly waay in over her head. No I did not feel sorry for her. After her, we had an older man from Guatemala LOVED him not perfect English but he TRIED, he eventually retired we cried for weeks.

All Affirmative Action folks who got to some elevated position because of sex, race or other considerations besides MERIT and ABILITY are doomed to fail, because they are NOT ABLE to do the job at the level that is required for that elevated position.
Put a Affirmative Action general in place....and as soon as there is an actual challenge, like a war, if he or she is only there because of some special status, the incompetence will be impossible to hide.
Most organizations which us AA spend a LOT of extra effort making up for their incompetence and running far less effectively than they would with a MERITED person in the position of power.

Brown is stupid. Ignorance is fixable, but stupid is forever. She's always going to be making stupid errors, doing stupid things. Forever.

"system of oppression"? Nope. It's really not being qualified for the job. When you're not qualified for the job, you can't do it. That's Affirmative Action Jackson.
