In the early days of WWII, as Germany was pounding England in the Blitz, FDR sent supplies to our allies. He gave them U.S. Navy destroyers (small warships especially good for fighting submarines) and eventually dedicated our Atlantic fleet to defending convoys and firing on German U-boats. We were secretly at war with Germany. History refers to it as “belligerent neutrality.” U.S. citizens had no idea. FDR deceived the American people. He campaigned for the 1940 election by saying he would keep the United States out of another European war. Smarter people than I can argue if it was the right thing to do.

Food Prices Up 20% Over the Past Year

If your grocery bills continue to frustrate you, you’re not alone. The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) released its report on worldwide food prices for February, and prices hit a record high last month. The February FAO Food Price Index (FFPI) reached a new high of 140.7 points, which reflects an increase of 3.9% over January and a whopping 20.7% over this time last year.
The FFPI serves as a “measure of the monthly change in international prices of a basket of food commodities,” notes the FAO. This month’s increase was largely due to “large increases in vegetable oil and dairy price sub-indices.”
No president in history has faced more corrupt lawfare than Donald Trump, and that didn’t end once he left office. Numerous criminal probes are going on in various far-left districts, including New York City and Atlanta, in an attempt to throw Trump in prison for anything they can come up with.
You see, unlike most criminal investigations, these probes didn’t start with a clearly defined crime that demanded justice. Rather, they started with a political target, and everything else has flowed from there.
As you’d expect, those corrupt practices have led to some hiccups, most recently with the probe happening out of the Manhattan DA’s office.
I’m guessing someone didn’t like all the coverage of the Clinton connection to the Durham probe and the allegations in the Durham filing in the case against former Clinton campaign lawyer Michael Sussmann that revealed that servers connected to President Donald Trump were being surveilled for their DNS lookups.
After the news came out, the attorneys for Michael Sussmann moved to strike the factual background in the Durham filing that has raised all the furor, claiming essentially that Special Counsel John Durham said too much, and that the intent was “to politicize this case, inflame media coverage, and taint the jury pool.”
Former Vice President Mike Pence probably figures that if he is not the early front-runner for the 2024 GOP presidential nomination, he is certainly in the hunt and probably makes the top five list of contenders.
That’s not going to last very long if he continues doing what he did Friday. Now that GOP voters have seen Trump and DeSantis, they are no longer impressed by so-called “Republicans” who willingly serve as stooges for the Democratic Party’s Blue Media. Mr. Pence deserves every bit of the glowing coverage he is receiving from the Washington Post, the Huffington Post, NBC News, and other similarly-inclined shovelers of the Democratic Party’s narratives.
With so much of the news cycle being understandably dominated by the Russian invasion of Ukraine, it’s been easy to miss some of the insanity continuing to come out of Canada.
On the ground, the Freedom Convoy is no more, and the use of the Emergencies Act was finally revoked by Justin Trudeau. The Canadian PM only did so after facing intense scrutiny for seeking its renewal despite the protests being over.
But even though things have calmed down, Trudeau continues to push for his dystopian dream. In a recent speech, he gave a bizarre and revealing rant on “democracy”

As War Rages, Biden Has Weekend Plans

As Russian President Vladimir Putin continues his unrelenting assault on Ukrainian citizens, committing war crimes through the use of cluster bombs and attacking nuclear sites in the country, President Joe Biden is headed home to Delaware for the weekend.
"In the evening, the President will travel to Wilmington, Delaware, where he will remain over the weekend," the White House daily schedule states.
Biden also went to Delaware last weekend for a family funeral. He has spent 35 weekends at home since taking office in January 2021.
Meanwhile, Congress is preparing an emergency package for Ukraine.
Under a Florida bill passed by the Senate, state agencies would be unable to start, continue, or renew contracts to work with companies that are found to transport undocumented workers to Florida. Senate Bill 1808 passed on partisan lines and heads to the Florida House for approval.
The bill also revises what Florida’s government considers a “sanctuary policy” and beefs up the requirements to work with United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement. Under the bill, as written, “common carrier” companies would be required to disclose to state agents if they transport undocumented immigrants, or “unauthorized aliens.”

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis and the Florida Surgeon General Dr. Joseph Ladapo held a press conference Thursday to stand up for the “traditional practice of medicine.”
The governor touted his fight against a range of COVID-19 mitigation tactics used widely across the nation — namely lock-downs, mask mandates, and vaccine requirements.
“People have lost their jobs over these policies,” DeSantis said.“People’s kids have lost access to education over these policies.”
He added there was more that needed to be done to protect Floridians against “threats to freedom.”
To do so, DeSantis said the Florida legislature is working to create the Free Speech of Health Care Practitioners Act,

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis made an announcement on Thursday that he’s been waiting to make for several months now: his wife Casey is cancer-free.
“I have a positive update about my wife Casey DeSantis,” he announced in a video on Twitter. “After going through both treatment and surgery for breast cancer, she is now considered cancer-free.”
“All of you have had thoughts and prayers that have been given to my family and my wife, and I want you to know, thank you for doing that,” he continued. “It’s lifted her spirits; it’s made a tremendous difference.”
