Long before the FBI accused the Minnesota nonprofit Feeding Our Future and some of its prime contractors of fraud, the federal government's child nutrition programs were wasting more than $1 billion a year on "improper payments," according to the U.S. Government Accountability Office. The GAO first raised the issue of sloppy oversight in 1999, when a whistleblower complained about financial irregularities at a California nonprofit, spurring a nationwide investigation that led to the convictions of at least 28 people on charges of defrauding the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP). But the U.S. Department of Agriculture, which oversees more than $20 billion in spending on meals for children,

I would suppose that there is fraud in every government program. Every single one.

This is really simple folks. Any program run by Democrats is a personal cash cow. They shovel the funds to front companies owned by friends or family members ( Pelosi’s husband for example). The money never goes to it’s intended use as Democrats are masters of deceit on stealing money and elections.

This is why our airports and rail lines and other infrastructure is antiquated and was never modernized. The Democrats steal the money for personal use. They are thugs in suits and a lot of RINOs play the same damn game!

The fraud is built in. Its like voting fraud, any real fix is just called racist and those proposing it are racists.

One simple though merely partial fix....Make the EBT a picture ID. Combine that with address tracking, multiple accounts with a single address get an in person visit. I have been in line at the grocery behind people with STACKS of EBT cards, paying for cart loads of stuff, then saw them loading it into an escalade or mercedes parked illegally in the fire lane in front to the stores.(How is it that too many of these folks have high dollar cars, designer clothes, handicap placards...though apparently fit..).

Goes back to before Reagan. His admin noted that food was being wasted because kids wouldn't eat much of it without ketchup. So they tried to have ketchup accepted as a vegetable so it could be included in the dietary restrictions. Of course the dims and their media used it politcally to ridicule the admin's suggestion and it was dropped and food continued to be wasted. Politics is our ruin.

#6, as just a small example, I've seen Walmart brand (Great Value?) vegetable oil for sale at a grocery store run by Middle Easterners, the business itself probably funded using Small Business Administration loans and grants reserved for refugees or People of Color. And somewhere other than Walmart I saw a man in full native costume buy half a cart's worth of vegetable oil using one of more food stamp cards, again probably destined for resale or restaurant use. I made a few calls, discovered that food stamp fraud is policed by the states at their own expense and pleasure, so of course there are insufficient resources to look into anything. Charity should be run locally, with worthy recipients known to the people handing it out, or there's wholesale fraud and scant resources remaining to help people in real need.

True story.
I once reported a person for food stamp fraud, and the county welfare person told me to mind my own business.
The fraud was absolutely clear, and the person was guilty. And I reported him to light a fire under him, so that he would do something in life.
It didn't matter.
And as far as I know, 40 years later, that person is still committing commiting welfare fraud.

The folks I see using EBT cards are buying lots and lots of fancy food. None of them look remotely "poor" in dress or the vehicles that they drive.
The WHOLE THING is a fraud and should be ended.

Massive ongoing fraud acknowledged for over 20 years, and nothing is done because it's merely the wealth of the citizens that's being stolen. But it's for the keeeeeeeids. And for the countless high-paid drones who work at the U.S. Department of Agriculture, which should be closed down, and for all the new millionaires created through fraud, and for Walmart and other huge corporations that make a killing on food stamp purchases.
