The Russian government claimed on Tuesday that several military units have completed “scheduled drills” along border with Ukraine and will now return to their permanent bases, bringing their armor and artillery with them.
Russian officials taunted the Biden administration by claiming the redeployment “humiliated” Western war hysterics, while Ukrainian and NATO military officials said they did not see any immediate sign of Russian forces actually pulling back from the border.
Russia’s state-run Tass news agency quoted Russian Defense Ministry spokesman Maj. Gen. Igor Konashenkov’s claim that Russian troops were packing their gear and preparing to depart on Wednesday morning.

FTA:
“The units of the Southern Military District that have completed accomplishing their tasks as part of scheduled tactical exercises at combined arms practice ranges on the Crimean Peninsula have begun returning to their permanent bases. The personnel of battalion tactical groups have conducted marches to the areas of railway stations where operations to load combat equipment on special platforms have been organized,” the district command stated.
The Ministry of Defense said some troops and naval units are still “training” in the neighborhood of Ukraine, and would begin a fresh round of drills on Tuesday.
Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said Western powers had been “humiliated and destroyed without a single shot fired” because their warnings of an imminent Russian invasion of Ukraine were ostensibly rendered foolish by the withdrawal announcement.
“15 February, 2022, will go down in history as the day Western war propaganda failed,” Zakharova declared.

I don't think it is quite over. Videos keep popping up on social media sites showing troops and military hardware moving toward the Ukraine border. I assume Russia could squelch the videos if they wanted to.

Putin played diapers like a unstrung harp - we should be ashamed of ourselves for having this half-wit, incompetent, egomaniac, sub-marginal idiot as the occupant of the White House - MAGA, MAGA, MAGA

Ukraine and Russia are neighbors and economically interdependent. They have to figure out how to get along with each other among themselves. Russia is the stronger party and does not need to invade Ukraine. Biden is a fool and Putin is giving him rope to hang himself.

I called this on day one..."Exercises" where Biden overreaction, and dragging EU/NATO into those reactions, every detail covered by media...and leaks to them from the main players... gives Russia REALTIME, REAL, intel on plotting reactions rather than just brainstorm.gaming "Red" teams. Repleat with comms of all kinds, tracked globally by their intelligence services..

WWTD...What would Trump do? This just illustrates that having a puppet President isn't without real consequences. And the consequences could get even more real if this isn't just a neener-neener move by Putin to humiliate not just Biden but also the entire Western Biden-butt-kissing media.

I, too, thought Putin was conducting military readiness drills. He can do that wherever and whenever he wants in his country. I read international news and really, other than Germany's careful, middle-of-the-road comments, nobody else gave a flying you-know-what about this alleged buildup.
Biden used the MSM to whip up a frenzy about imminent attacks so he could talk tough and take credit for forcing Putin to back down. It backfired badly because Putin refused to take the bait.

Looks like china's deal with Putin is over...the deal was keep the fake news focused on the invasion while china's pathetic attempt at running the olympics went un/noticed...didn't work...the European athletes told of the disgusting food allocations at the games and the pathetic ski jump by the nuclear towers brought it home...Americans have tuned out the games and Coca Cola and Pepsi are losing customers for sponsoring the games...not to mention nike and the American uniforms bought in china...if it says made in china on the label...put it down...only buy made in America products...and use U S cash to pay for it...no more big credit card companies piling on debt and increasing interest rates...remain self/sufficient...

From local media reports originating in Ukraine it appears that the average Ukrainian person has been highly skeptical of so-called Western intelligence reports that Russia was about to militarily attack Ukraine on Wednesday February 16, which happens to be today.

If Putin does seek eventually to take over the Ukraine, this was a good move, and worth the tens of millions of rubles it cost to do it. In the future, if Puttie amasses troops at the border, the NATO allies may be even less willing to take it seriously and prepare for war. Russia's Putin is far more clever and intelligent than USA's Brandon, or even those pulling Brandon's strings.
