Justice Sonia Sotomayor warned on Wednesday that the hyper-partisan state of politics has taken the country to the brink of crisis when it comes to nominating justices to the Supreme Court. She laid out her fears during a virtual event with New York University, amid calls to reform the nation's highest court and as the confirmation battle to fill Justice Stephen Breyer's seat looms.'I have concerns that we might be in crisis as norms in the nomination process are broken,' she said, according to CNN.'As norms of the nomination process are broken, as more senators, congressional representatives, governors, mayors, local politicians and the media question the legitimacy of the court,

The Wide Latina is very frustrated - - about being a Supreme Court justice.
What she really wants - - is to be Bronx Borough President. That's where all her friends are - - and it's a much easier gig.

Apart from Justice Clarence Thomas, the SCOTUS hasn't had any 'legitimacy' since Scalia died. Tell the chunky one to shut up.

Time to re-visit Marbury v Madison. That is when the SCOTUS power grab started, and rendered the court ripe for politicization. 5th Amendment Convention of States very much in order.

She should know!
She is the most left-wing, political, polarizing person on it!

How could Justice Sotomayor not know that the Supreme Court has been highly politicized for as long an anyone can remember anytime a partisan politically charged case is accepted by the Supreme Court? As clearly everyone else with a head on their shoulders knows that has been the Supreme Court mantra for as long as anyone can remember. It is evident that liberal Democrats like Sotomayor consider the Supreme Court to be a Super Legislature, where nine politically appointed Justices with lifetime appointments, not having to worry about the next election, and proclaim what the US Constitution and the laws should be, while making all the most important political and social decisions for the nation.

I have no respect whatsoever for rulings of the SC, which is entirely a political organization. Every ruling is more left wing spittle eroding the rights and freedoms of the citizenry.

In the hierarchy of the SCOTUS, Sotomayor knows she is about to be upstaged by an ABW (angry black woman). Is there any other kind in the democrat party? Poor Sonia is no longer in the catbird seat of the race pecking order. Biden’s nomination will make everyone else on the Court insignificant because if it’s about race, blacks are superior for the massive amount of race baiting that is essential to democrat success. Until, of course, they are put up against an illegal alien, then they are out of luck because Illegal aliens reign supreme. Joe just doesn’t know how he could nominate one in this political climate, but don’t fret, I am sure democrats are working on it,

You anti constitutionalist deep state liberals are doing a fine job of destroying your own credibility Sweetie. Get back to doing the job as laid out in the constitution and stop interpreting the laws to your own ends. We aren't stupid out here in flyover country.

She’s not very smart, but she’s woke enough to realize that she’s about to lose her “only woman of color on the Court” notoriety. She’ll soon be as insignificant to the leftists as she already is to the Americans. She’s terrified of the inevitability of slipping into obscurity. Sonia who?

"question the legitimacy of the court."? In my opinion the supreme court has lost legitimacy a long time ago. Since they refused to hear any evidence of election fraud in 2020 they lost any legitimacy they had, and instead became part of the coup.
