Biden's False Gun Claims Are a Lousy Basis

President Joe Biden so frequently and willfully tells lies about firearms that, if he were a podcaster talking about anything other than guns, aging rockers would trip over their walkers in a rush to sever even the most tenuous ties to him. Of course, we live in an age of misinformation and disinformation and probably should expect nothing better from the White House. But Biden proposes to impose ever-tougher rules based on his repetitive malarkey, illustrating the problem of governments wielding their vast regulatory apparatus based on misunderstandings and malice.

Everything he says is disinformation. Gun makers are only protected from lawsuits about a criminal using a properly functioning product for illegal acts. Gun makers are just as liable for defective guns as any product maker. And we have ALWAYS been able to own cannons and ANY OTHER GUNS we chose to own. Muskets were literally the "assault weapons" of the 1700s. Rifles were well known, and used by hunters. But rifles required a tight fit between the bullet and the inside of the barrel, and the gunpowder of those times left a lot of residue inside the barrel after firing. For a rifle (very accurate) you had to clean the barrel between shots, making shot to shot times slow, several minutes, at least. Muskets had no rifling (twisting grooves to spin the bullet) in the barrel, and the bullets were a loose fit, with paper wadding to take up the gap. A musket would hit a standing man at 50 yds about half the time...somewhere. But, a trained soldier could load a musket and fire it three times a minute, no cleaning required due to the loose fitting bullets. And critically, muskets had bayonets, very useful in close combat with a very slow to load gun. And they had reinforced buttstocks with heavy steel or brass buttplates, intended for use as a bludgeon in close fighting, in conjunction with the bayonet. Rifles had no provision for a bayonet, and the buttstocks were thin and weak, would break if used as a club. Muskets were rapid fire military weapons with bayonets and designed for fighting, not accurate enough and too heavy for most hunting. Rifles were hunting tools, lighter, far slower to load, but could hit a 5" circle or smaller at 50 yards every time. The whole "you can't own weapons of war" claim by the leftists is totally bogus, Americans could and did own muskets - purely military guns. We have always owned whatever weapons we wanted, without limit, INCLUDING cannons. Joe lies.

I still remember seeing a bidet campaign sign in somebody's yard during the election. It stated "Truth over Lies". Absolutely hilarious that some maroon would think bidet would tell the truth! He's been caught lying on numerous occasions. Let's go Brandon!!

Gun control laws are not meant to control crime. They are meant to control people. Criminals do not follow laws and liberals do not enforce existing laws.

The first generation HPV vaccine cut cervical cancer rates among women by 87%, British researchers reported. The study published Wednesday in the journal The Lancet estimates that by mid-2019, there were 450 fewer cases of cervical cancer and 17,200 fewer cases of pre-cancers than expected in the vaccinated population. Researchers at Kings College London and the British government looked at population-based cancer registry data in the UK between January 2006 and June 2019 for seven groups of women, comparing those who were vaccinated to those who were not.

How July 4 Threatened the Confederacy 4 replies

One of the most regrettable developments of this summer in the United States is the way in which certain commentators have tried to pit the spirit of Juneteenth against the spirit of July 4, as if the two were in tension with one another. In fact, they are not. The essential concord that exists between the two holidays has been pointed out by other writers who stress that the final extirpation of slavery on Juneteenth was a follow-through on the promises and principles of July 4, not a repudiation of them.

July 4 offers us a day to reflect on the American Revolution. Because it coincides as well with the conclusion of the battles of Gettysburg and Vicksburg in 1863, it is also a time to look back on the American Civil War. The men who led the Confederate States of America fought for a much worse cause than did the Founding Fathers, yet they drew inspiration from the Founders’ battle for independence. Why did they fail?

Clarence Thomas, one of the Supreme Court's most conservative justices, said Monday that because of the hodgepodge of federal policies on marijuana, federal laws against its use or cultivation may no longer make sense. "A prohibition on interstate use or cultivation of marijuana may no longer be necessary or proper to support the federal government's piecemeal approach," he wrote.
Biden's Gun Schemes Illustrate the

As expected, the Biden administration released proposed new rules for pistol braces and model legislation for "red flag" laws that make it easier to confiscate privately owned firearms. Also as expected, the proposals are ludicrous. On the one hand, they are pointless and nitpicky rules that are ultimately unenforceable, and on the other hand they are dangerous end-runs around due process that threaten fundamental rights. Taken together, they illustrate the unserious nature of gun regulations which are crafted more to appeal to political audiences than to achieve positive results.

Most Americans now favor legalizing marijuana, including large majorities across the political spectrum. Just this year, New Mexico, New York, and Virginia have eliminated state bans and opened the door to legal markets in the stuff. Even Congress is considering federal legalization (though the White House isn't necessarily on board). Via the ballot box and through legislation, authorities in the United States are reforming the treatment of marijuana and those who enjoy its use. But, as is so often the case, the impetus for change came much earlier—from scofflaws who did as they pleased, normalized the use of an

School district policy requires a five-year waiting period after the death of a notable person unless the vote to change the name of a school building is unanimous.

They are a versatile fashion accessory and a staple in every woman's wardrobe. But now researchers say wearing ladies tights on your face could slash your risk of getting Covid. One of the criticisms aimed at commonly worn face coverings is that they do not fit tightly enough to significantly block viral particles from being inhaled or exhaled. As part of a new study, Cambridge University experts reviewed a variety of DIY hacks people have used to make masks fit better, including using rubber bands or tape. Curiously, they found the most effective tactic was to wrap pantyhose around the bottom half of the face—on top of a mask.
