A Missouri university is hosting an online forum that will explore whether the term 'professionalism' is racist—and according to the event's synopsis, it is. The February 1 presentation at Washington University's St. Louis campus centers around a term defined by Merriam-Webster as 'the conduct, aims, or qualities that characterize or mark a profession or a professional person.' An explainer for the upcoming virtual event reads: 'The term “professionalism” has at times been used to silence and marginalize people of color, when attributes of appearance, language or interactions that have nothing to do with job knowledge or constructive collegial relationships are labeled as “unprofessional”. 'In this context, so-called professionalism

Having standards of behavior is denigrated because,................those standards were designated, invented, decreed, whatever by , yes you guessed it, white people. Those race insensitive white people also invented indoor plumbing. Show your independent self. Don't avail yourself of it. By the way the event is being hosted and run by two black women. Draw your own conclusions.

Re #2 I think this is part of a deliberate attempt to maintain the cult of victimhood on minorities. While I was working today, I had the TV on and was listening to Air Disasters on the Smithsonian channel. EVERY commercial break was for a 'history' of slavery for the past 1,000 years! The Left likes their minorities to believe that the board is set unfairly against them and that whites are to blame. What the neglect to add is that it is certain whites, i.e. liberal Democrats, who need to perpetuate this cult of victimhood. The Democratic Party needs a permanent victim underclass to justify their existence, hence white priviledge, Critical Race Theory, slave reparations, BLM (defund the police-the cops are an occupying army and they don;t serve the black community. Yes this the shite they preach.) Morgan Freeman once told Mike Wallace-who asked how can we eliminate racism-to STOP TALKING ABOUT IT. Stop reiving the past as if all the transgressions are current and ongoing, instead of past history. But if the Left do that then they are defeated, and so they keep hammering on how minorities are oppressed. Except its the LEFT doing the oppressing.

I’ve never understood why black people and other minorities aren’t insulted by this sort of rhetoric. It has gone way beyond Michael Gerson’s quote about the “soft bigotry of low expectations”. That bigotry is now granite hard and still minorities, especially blacks, are swallowing it whole.

I noticed that the photos of the hosts of the "Professionalism is Racist" conference were dressed in a professional manner in their photos. Guess they have fallen victim to their white supremacist masters. Otherwise, I'm sure they would have been wearing pajamas, slippers, and do-rags in their photos. This conference will turn out to be the "how not to get hired after college" conference. Don't blame the dominant culture for "keeping you down". You are keeping yourself down. Need brain or cardiac surgery? Will you be choosing a Professional, or a “victim,” in whose hands you will place your life? Any race can achieve professional status (and many have done so). Those robbing trains or doing smash-and-grab theft have made the decision to remain victims. The “white” obsession by intentional under-performers is evidence that the victims are simply too lazy (or stupid) to put in the effort that it takes to excel at any endeavor. There are no white slave-owners and there is no systemic racism. Until the victims realize that they will remain victims controlled by puppeteers.

Experts have warned that President Joe Biden's plan to shore up Europe's supply of natural gas if Vladimir Putin cuts off supplies won't work because other nations can't make up the shortfall. The Biden administration Tuesday said it is preparing to source gas from other countries in case Russia cuts off energy supplies—a scenario European allies fear will come to pass if Moscow invades the Ukraine. However, Samantha Gross, the Director of Energy Security and Climate Initiative at the Brookings Institution, told that the imitative was doomed to failure. 'If Russia were to completely turn off the taps we can't make that up. Other suppliers can't make that up.

People who harass or bully others do so in order to validate to themselves that they are somebody. They learned this behavior from role models in their environment. Most often, they were harassed or bullied during their childhood or adolescence and they act out their hurt and frustration by treating others the way they were treated. It is a defence mechanism. “I will put you in your place and show my power over you, before you do the same to me,” is the unconscious thought process behind bullying.
