Why the Left’s War on Fun Is Actually
a War on God

Original Article

Why aren’t liberals fun anymore? That was the question asked in a 2018 op-ed in The Hill by Stephen Moore. Moore observed that liberals, who were once the fun ones in American culture, have become punitive, tight-assed, dour. “What a difference a generation makes,” Moore wrote. “It used to be conservatives who were the stuffy ones. Liberals were the fun ones to be around. Now the ones who are so uptight are the liberals like actor Jeff Bridges, who once was funny but now is so embarrassed by modern day America that he seems to want to be anywhere on this planet, except here.”

Comments:

I take Mark Judge's adulation of Kennedy with several grains of salt, but his main point is right on and there are many insights here. The idea of liberals turning into punitive, resentful haters of America is key, and the explanations here are good.

I never thought liberals were fun! The media may portray them as fun to be around, but liberals are what spawned the 'Karens' of the world!

The East German Stasi eventually beat down punk rock singer Chaos from the band called Wutanfall. The fun he had on stage had to stop, lest the communists lose face (or something like that). A fellow LDotter (I wish I could remember who) reprised a pithy quote from John Lydon, singer of the Sex Pistols, which applies here. "I never thought I'd see the day where the right wing would become the cool ones giving the finger to the establishment, and the left wing becoming the sniveling, self-righteous twatty ones going around shaming everyone." In their day (1977) the Sex Pistols were fun. Fortunately, Lydon hasn't forgotten about being an entertainer.

I'm no fan of JFK or just about any of the Kennedy family, but JFK did have a sense of humor as did that well known liberal Adlai Stevenson. I can't think of any of the current crop of progs who have anything remotely resembling a sense of humor. They may make cutting remarks against their political enemies, but they totally lack wit and God forbid they laugh at themselves.

I was a liberal in the late 60’s and early 70’s. We believed in loving each other and respecting everyone’s view! We would respectfully discuss differences but friendship was never at stake! Our movement was hijacked by crazy leftist cultish devotion to Marx and Pol Pot. I left…or they left me!!!

Liberals never had a sense of humor. I was ground zero in the 1960s in college they are the same campus punks they were back then except now they are our government. The hippies gave up brightly paint VW vans for black limousines in Washington nothing has change. The left with their media has tagged the right as dour but they wanted to make themselves look good when they are all mentally ill losers.

Liberals have always been fussy, dour and just extremely nasty towards any other political thinking but their own. Especially hated are Christians. Because we believe we are accountable to a Higher Power than ourselves, while Liberals do not believe that Higher Power exists. There have always been liberals, people who have hated anyone who holds a mirror up and reflects the emptiness of liberalism back at them. Liberals were even around at Sodom and Gomorrah and the building of Noah's Ark. Liberals are not a new invention by any means. The NT doesn't refer to the ''Days of Noah'' for nothing. They just morph into and blend in with whatever culture is around at the time.

Bingo! their whole reason for existence is to shake their fists in the face of God. They claim they don't believe He is the creator, but they believe. God has made His existence plain to everyone. If not, why do they rage? They arrogantly and foolishly believe they can do better than God, when they're dumber than poor kindergarteners. My apologies to kindergarteners. They hate everything good; that's why they surround themselves with people who are like them--evil. Just a reminder to all readers--while the heathen busies themselves with raging against God and imagining vain things, God just laughs. To add to poster 7, God knows their end.

Every aspect of the great reset, going back to the election of Obama, is about empowering global and local leaders united in their contempt for God, people of faith and 2000 years of civilization advancing the tenets of what Christ revealed. The fight dates back further, the intellectual foundations of public education, the Nietsch>Marxist.totalitarian attitudes passed from Wilson to FDR to Carter to HIllary to Obama. The Bushes and their long standing allegiences to the Eugenics movement and Planned Parenthood have paid but lip services to the faith and morality of non Blue Blood globalists. But those who hate God and his followers now run our government at every level.

We’re in Central Park, at night. A young couple are sitting on a bench, kissing, when all at once a small gang of boys and girls shows up. The oldest can’t be more than 14. Two of the boys, one black and one white, are playing accordions. (Snip) The scene is from Frank Capra’s “You Can’t Take It With You” (1938), with Jimmy Stewart and Jean Arthur as the couple in love. Whenever I see such a scene with children having real and adventurous lives, I first ask why people in 1938 found such a scene credible, while we do not, because we hardly ever see children outdoors, in groups

A tiny administrative agency in the District of Columbia announced a new policy Tuesday that will likely serve as a model for a whole-of-government push to assemble lists of Americans who object on religious grounds to a COVID-19 vaccine. The Pretrial Services Agency for the District of Columbia—a federal independent entity that assists officers in the District of Columbia courts in formulating release recommendations and providing supervision and services to defendants awaiting trial—announced a new records system that will store the names and “personal religious information” of all employees who make “religious accommodation requests for religious exception from the federally mandated vaccination requirement.”

(Snip) Very soon, the Senate will vote on whether to confirm Gigi Sohn, Joe Biden’s nominee to fill the decisive fifth spot on the Federal Communications Commission. Some films are chilling because their fiction penetrates the agonizing core of reality. The soon to be released Unsilenced, from award-winning Chinese-Canadian filmmaker Leon Lee, is a prime example. It brings into sharp focus the oppression unleashed by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) on Falun Gong, a movement that emphasizes ethical conduct, qigong exercises, and meditation. Fearing that Falun Gong would overtake it in popularity, the party has since 1999 been persecuting practitioners with arrest, torture, forced labor, menticide, and execution. But an underground resistance has established itself, led by ordinary Falun Gong practitioners pushed by extraordinary circumstances into heroic acts.

Two important cases came before the Supreme Court this week, and in Congress the Nancy Pelosi Reichstag Fire Revisited was being played out. In both cases these bodies deserved our disrespect for their violation of established norms and display of ignorance. (Snip) The question in these two cases is whether the mandates were properly issued under the Administrative Procedure Act and in accord with the agencies’ congressionally delegated powers, not the individual justices' views on the spread of COVID-19. It was hoped that these cases would rein in administrative agency overreaching and end a period of too lax judicial oversight of their activities.

President Biden can claim that COVID-19 remains a "pandemic of the unvaccinated" partly because "the CDC has played fast and loose with a lot of studies and data," Yale School of Public Health epidemiologist Harvey Risch says. "We have not been careful or objective with our data," he told the John Solomon Reports podcast Friday. "We don't even know, for example, the mortality from COVID," which the CDC pegs at more than 800,000. Risch noted the agency told physicians to put COVID on death certificates regardless of whether they think the infection played a role. Hospitalizations have also conflated admissions "with" and "from" COVID, he said.

Question: Is our ruling class trying to make us to think they're a bunch of pederasts? Our media could not be less interested in Jeffrey Epstein's child molestation ring and, with the sole exception of the Palm Beach Police Department, every arm of government has bent over backward to bury the case. (Who says our media and government can't work together?) The jury's courageous delivery last week of five "guilty" verdicts against Epstein's pimp, Ghislaine Maxwell, was a sort of reverse jury nullification. The U.S. attorney's office -- the prosecution -- did everything it could to get an acquittal, but the jurors defied them.
