My Christmas Story

Original Article

"It's a Wonderful Life" occupies a top spot on my list of favorite Christmas movies, but "The Family Man" is not far behind. (Snip) As we sat in a restaurant in the San Jose Airport, she noticed a man across the room sitting at the bar wearing a cap that said, "Trump 2024." Nina said: "It takes some nerve, in a place this liberal, to wear a cap like that. You should say something to him." I walked over to him, tapped him on his shoulder and complimented him on his headgear. "Oh, my God!" he said. "Larry Elder, you changed my life! You made me the man I am today."

Comments:

This is a lovely story that left me a bit teary-eyed.

Likewise, OP, thank you (and Mr Elder!) for sharing. We need to be reminded of the Better Angels out there, to lift our Spirits and inspire our own inner Angels.

I watch The Family Man every Christmas Season. Such a sweet story. I also watch Four Christmases cause who doesn’t love Vince Vaughn and The Holiday. Jack Black is a love interest and pulls it off well in and the side story of the English girl (Kate Winsley) meeting the old Hollywood writer (Eli Wallach) is so poignant. How many days till Christmas? 😂

I'm happy for Larry that he's getting this kind of feedback....he certainly deserves it! "...we cannot control the outcome, but we are 100% in control of the effort."

What a wonderful story. I have heard several people tell Rush on the radio similar stories, perhaps not so detailed. God Bless Larry Elder, a truly good man.

Cover-Up, Part I

Question: Is our ruling class trying to make us to think they're a bunch of pederasts? Our media could not be less interested in Jeffrey Epstein's child molestation ring and, with the sole exception of the Palm Beach Police Department, every arm of government has bent over backward to bury the case. (Who says our media and government can't work together?) The jury's courageous delivery last week of five "guilty" verdicts against Epstein's pimp, Ghislaine Maxwell, was a sort of reverse jury nullification. The U.S. attorney's office -- the prosecution -- did everything it could to get an acquittal, but the jurors defied them.

I can’t embed Rumble, so I’ve done one of my edited transcripts—it’s that good and important.   (Snip) The interview’s substance begins with the stunning statements by the insurance company CEO. What About The Excess Deaths? STEW PETERS: Has the government pulled off a Psy-Op against its own people? "It sure looks that way." "Remember, this isn't just any CEO of any insurance company. They're a $100 billion dollar fund." “There's a huge number of deaths and adverse that are linked to the injections. CORRECTIONS*

Recently, Democrats have been despondent over Joe Biden’s sinking polls. His policies on the economy, energy, foreign policy, the border, and COVID-19 all have lost majority support. As a result, the Left now variously alleges that either in 2022, when they expect to lose the Congress, or in 2024, when they fear losing the presidency, Republicans will “destroy democracy” or stage a coup. A cynic might suggest that they praise democracy when they get elected—only to claim it is broken when they lose. Or they hope to avoid their defeat by trying to terrify the electorate. Or they mask their own revolutionary propensities by projecting them onto their opponents.

A seasoned stock analyst colleague texted me a link today, and when I clicked it open, I could hardly believe what I was reading. What a headline. “Indiana life insurance CEO says deaths are up 40% among people ages 18-64”. This headline is a nuclear truth bomb masquerading as an insurance agent’s dry manila envelope full of actuarial tables. People frequently write to Jill and myself. People we have never met. (Snip) Many want to tell us about their fear, illness, nightmares, or (what often seems like) outright paranoid conspiracies. And then, over time, these fears and “conspiracies” keep getting confirmed.

In June 2020, as the country attempted to recover from deadly and destructive riots after the death of George Floyd, a man from Wisconsin hosted a national conference of self-styled “militia” members in a suburban Columbus, Ohio hotel. Stephen Robeson, founder of the Wisconsin chapter of the Three Percenters, an alleged militia group on the FBI’s naughty list, pestered his contacts across the country to participate in the gathering. People who attended the conference, including two men later charged with federal crimes related to a plot to abduct Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer from her vacation cottage in 2020, observed that the hotel was crawling with federal agents.

Readers of the British newspaper, The Guardian, are accusing the outlet of deactivating an online poll that asked readers to vote on “Person of the Year” after it became apparent that J.K. Rowling would handily win. “Tell us: who is your 2021 person of the year?” ran the headline, posted on Dec. 15, with the subtitle, “Time Magazine chose billionaire Tesla boss Elon Musk – but who would be your choice?” A short time later, when Rowling was far and away in the lead, the voting form disappeared, as did the results. A message in small print stated, “This form has been deactivated and is closed to any further submissions.”

A doctor in Maryland said he had to cancel potentially life-saving monoclonal antibody infusions for about 250 people over the last week after the federal government stopped distributing treatments made by Regeneron and Eli Lilly because they aren't effective against omicron, even though the delta variant, which the drugs are effective at treating, was still dominant at the time. The Office of the Assistant Secretary for Preparedness and Response halted the allocation of those two antibody treatments last Thursday amid the rise of omicron, which the CDC had said days earlier was responsible for 73.2% of all new cases. But the CDC backtracked on that alarming estimate this week

Airlines, which are government contractors, are affected by President Joe Biden’s order from September that states all employees of those companies have to be vaccinated against the CCP virus. The group of attorneys and doctors wrote a letter directed at the FAA, the Department of Transportation, the Department of Justice, as well as several airlines,

Apart from its legislative and regulatory policies, the administration is doing everything it can to hamper the production of conventional fuels. The standard, and oft used, countermeasure is to seek judicial relief from nonsensical overreach, which takes a lot of time and money, but several states this week showed a more creative side, and it’s a good thing in my book. At the Federalist, Tristan Justice details the administration’s misguided actions which prompted the response: President Joe Biden has been aggressive in quickly curtailing oil and gas development as promised on the campaign trail. That is, whenever she makes an official appearance, this music is played for her, just as Hail to the Chief is played when the president appears. Someone within the Marine Corps band wrote it, although there is some dispute as to whether the White House requested such music or the Marine Corps band members spontaneously felt that Jill needed that special song.

2021 was a miserable enough year, but apparently, it has coattails. As last year’s auto sales numbers come in, a sad new reality has come to light: America’s best-selling carmaker is no longer an American company. Japanese automaker Toyota sold more cars in the United States than any other manufacturer, edging historical bestseller General Motors out of the top spot. This marks the first time since 1931 that GM isn’t the top-selling automaker in the states. Before them, Ford was number one. This marks the first time in history that the top-selling carmaker in the United States is a foreign company. Toyota has been at the top of global sales for a decade,

Below is my column in the Hill on the continued calls to disqualify Republican members of Congress to prevent them from running for reelection. What is maddening is that Democratic groups and commentators are seeking to remove as many as 120 Republicans from the ballots in the name of democracy. It is like burning books in the name of literacy. Yet, on this anniversary of the January 6th riot, members of Congress and Democratic groups want to block voters from reelecting their preferred representatives. Like villages in Vietnam, it appears that some members and activists believe that you have to destroy democracy to save it from itself.

I know from the volume of email I’ve received on it that Ted Cruz’s comments on January 6, 2021, calling it “a violent terrorist attack on the Capitol” have outraged many conservatives. Ted was once the darling of intellectually inclined conservatives, but I think the bloom is now off that rose. Tucker Carlson used video of Cruz’s comments as the keystone of a segment on how Republicans are being cowardly and granting Democrats their false premises on the riot at the Capitol being an insurrection or even a “terrorist attack.” As Tucker put it, he was delivering talking points for Merrick Garland.
