White House coronavirus response coordinator Jeff Zients admitted Wednesday that the Biden administration won’t ink contracts to mass-mail 500 million COVID-19 rapid tests until “late next week” — despite a record-smashing wave of new US infections and a shortage of tests. The timeframe means it will take the White House nearly three weeks to start the process of making tests available after previewing the plan to combat the highly contagious Omicron variant Dec. 20. “The Department of Defense and HHS are executing on an accelerated contracting timeline. Companies are already submitting information and we expect the contract to be completed late next week,” Zients told reporters

A California middle school teacher who admitted she “totally stalked” student online activity to identify candidates for an LGBTQ club said her explosive comments were made “tongue in cheek,” according to a new report. Buena Vista Middle School staffers Lori Caldeira and Kelly Baraki ignited an ongoing controversy in the small Spreckels Union School District after they spoke about their recruitment approach at an October LGBTQ conference.(Snip)“I see a site that’s emblazoned with rainbows,” Caldeira said. “How am I not going to notice that?” Caldeira and Baraki also conceded that they purposefully limited documentation of the club or its members in order to limit parental knowledge of its workings.

Rod Dreher at The American Conservative details the disturbing trend of school teachers openly bragging on popular social media platforms about indoctrinating young children in their classes with transgender and "sexual rights" instruction. "Call it confidence, or call it arrogance, but there are some young schoolteachers who brag on TikTok about telling the little kids in their class all about transgenderism and gender theory," Dreher writes. It comes also as a number of media reports in the US and UK have correlated the amount of time children spend online consuming content on apps like TikTok and their willingness to "come out" as a different gender, at increasingly young ages.

With just a few days left in 2021, homicides in the nation’s capital are up 14% from the same time last year when 197 were recorded, the most since 248 in 2003.(Snip)Police, activists and politicians can try to blame each other or pinpoint the exact causes fueling the deadly trend,

Jackson, Mississippi, has experienced its deadliest year on record in 2021, as rising gun violence has driven its homicide rate to become one of the worst in the nation, data shows. Jackson, a Democratic city in a heavily Republican state, has already seen 150 homicides as of Dec. 21, shattering its previous record of 130 set last year, CNN reported. “We see lifelong friends kill each other, we’ve seen a son kill his mother and sister, have seen crimes that are based on social determinants and an inability of people to be engaged in institutions in which they thrive,” Jackson Mayor Chokwe Antar Lumumba told the outlet.

Boris Johnson faced pressure from across the political spectrum today to take action over soaring energy bills, tax rises and inflation to avoid a 'cost of living catastrophe' whacking the Covid-weary British public in 2022. The Prime Minister was urged to act as a think tank warned that next year will be the 'year of the squeeze', with households facing a hit of at least £1,200. The Resolution Foundation said that the public would face a choke point in April when the energy price cap is raised to account for eyewatering wholesale gas price increases, and a 1.25 percentage point increase in National Insurance contributions (NICs) comes into effect.

Plans to ‘decolonise’ collections at Kew Gardens could breach legal obligations, a think-tank has warned. Policy Exchange said the botanic gardens in west London may be contravening the National Heritage Act 1983, which sets out the institution’s statutory responsibilities. In March Royal Botanic Gardens (RBG) Kew provoked controversy when it vowed to reword display boards to show how plants played a part in British colonialism.(Snip)It accuses Kew of engaging in ‘forays into non-scientific, and indeed politically charged, activities’ and is understood to have support from Downing Street, The Daily Telegraph reported.(Snip)The plans also included changing display boards for plants such as sugar cane

Rapid antigen tests for Covid may be less sensitive in detecting the Omicron variant and are leading to 'false negatives,' the Food and Drug Administration said Tuesday. The FDA made preliminary findings using samples from patients confirmed to be infected with the new mutant strain. The federal agency said early results show that antigen tests 'do detect the Omicron variant but may have reduced sensitivity,' meaning it's possible the tests could miss an infection, known as a 'false negative.'(Snip)According to a meta-analysis of studies by the Cochrane Library, lateral flow tests detect an average of 72 percent of symptomatic cases and 58 percent of asymptomatic ones.

A troupe of Morris dancers have ditched their 500-year-old blackface tradition amid a racism row and have performed for the first time while painted green today. Silurian Border Morrismen had voted to scrap the black face paint for their Boxing Day Tour to avoid causing offence in the wake of the Black Lives Matter movement.
The group today performed their English folk dance routine to crowds of onlookers in Ledbury, Herefordshire, with their faces painted dark green instead.(Snip)It is believed black soot was historically worn by the English folk dancers as a disguise so they could beg for money without getting in trouble with the law.

Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers is continuing to criticize the NFL’s and the country’s handling of COVID-19, saying in an interview Tuesday that it had become unscientific dogma.
In the interview on “The Pat McAfee Show,” the football star noted that his resistance to vaccine mandates had become a cause and produced social-media calls for his silencing or punishment by the league or Silicon Valley. “If science can’t be questioned, it’s not science anymore; it’s propaganda and that’s the truth,” he said.
Rodgers noted that many NFL teams are quietly experimenting with various treatments unannounced. “When did science become this blind agreement and then not having any debate
Comments:
How much Big Pharma money did the grifter pocket for pushing this through, and how in the world did the USA reach the point where such "employer mandates" are even entertained as permissible under the law, let alone allowed?
