Now the FDA says rapid tests for Covid
antigens may be less sensitive in detecting
Omicron variant - causing 'false negative' results

Rapid antigen tests for Covid may be less sensitive in detecting the Omicron variant and are leading to 'false negatives,' the Food and Drug Administration said Tuesday. The FDA made preliminary findings using samples from patients confirmed to be infected with the new mutant strain. The federal agency said early results show that antigen tests 'do detect the Omicron variant but may have reduced sensitivity,' meaning it's possible the tests could miss an infection, known as a 'false negative.'(Snip)According to a meta-analysis of studies by the Cochrane Library, lateral flow tests detect an average of 72 percent of symptomatic cases and 58 percent of asymptomatic ones.

Comments:

Tests that don't work and shots that don't work; nice symmetry. Even now the government is scrambling to amass stockpiles of tea leaves and chicken entrails. Have the feds already wasted a fortune on warehouses full of tests that now unexpectedly do not work, and who profited from this move? Certainly not the taxpayers.

Testing for everyone equals lots and lots of asymptomatic hypochondriacs clogging up emergency rooms for no reason at all. We have already seen this in some areas of the country. More tests so they can report more positive cases, and whip the fear again and again. Now we need to say the antigen tests don't work right either, so people are forced back to the PCR testing. More fear, more restrictions, more lockdowns. Forevermore.

Simple solution - - - - There should be four possible test results - - Positive, False Positive, Negative, and False Negative. That way every possibility will be covered - - and there won't be any confusion.

Maybe the false negatives will balance out the false positives? I am getting a good laugh at all those waiting in lines to get tested when the only sickness they have is in their heads.

The so-called "Omicron variant" has mild symptoms, is very communicable, and according to studies, provides natural immunity to other variants. If it has truly become the dominant strain, why are we still testing? Why are we still vaccinating? Let it wash through the population. Don't continue to push boosters of leaky vaccines that could potentially lead to a new, more resistant and dangerous variant.

Well, maybe this will offset the massive numbers of false positives that the tests give. The tests are a fraud, CDC said that they weren't accurate back in July. These "vaccines are not vaccines and don't prevent infection. The "vaccines" don't prevent transmission. Masks don't prevent infection. Safe and effective early treatment is prohibited. The government interferes with even the 'government approved' monoclonal antibodies distribution. Alice in Wonderland would be fairly comfortable in this modern version. Nutty, Nasty Nancy as the Red Queen....."It was an insurrection! Off with their heads!" And Dr. Fraud as the Mad Hatter, with a Dr. Mengele twist thrown in of killing children with his evil experiments. And they wonder why we don't trust what they say.

Paris—Hundreds of empty, parked cars go up in flames in France each New Year’s Eve, set afire by young revelers, a much lamented tradition that appeared in decline this year, which saw only 874 vehicles burned. The number of cars burned overnight has declined compared to New Year’s Eve 2019 when 1,316 vehicles went up in flames, Interior Minister Gerald Darmanin said Saturday on Twitter. Fewer arson attacks occurred because of massive police presence on cities’ streets this New Year’s Eve, enforcing law and order and restrictions on public gatherings and wearing face masks as infections driven by the fast-spreading omicron variant surge, he said.

New York City health officials have been using race to help decide how to allocate precious coronavirus testing resources, leaked emails from the agency show. In a conversation with reps for the Department of Health and Mental Hygiene, City Councilman Joe Borelli’s office said constituents on Staten Island’s South Shore were having trouble getting tested at city facilities. “Our office has been receiving calls regarding the mobile NYC H+H testing sites such as Wolfes Pond Park. It appears many are waiting with delays, and are being turned away after waiting for hours,” wrote Borelli staffer Briana Nasti in a Dec. 22 email.
