Of all the elements of today’s “New Normal,” the most ominous is the “reform” that effectively changed the meanings of previously accepted words or terms. The following glossary illustrates how changes to our vocabulary played a central role in making the world a more dangerous and frightening place. New Normal - “Normal” is something that has long been the norm and is accepted as the norm. The key point is that the “old” normal no longer applies.

When the "new normal" is created by people who are abnormal the world becomes a very scary place. America has become a very scary place. It is being run by abnormal people getting to enforce their mental illnesses on everyone still trying to maintain their normality.

Everyone needs to reread 1984! I did, and you will think Orwell was a prophet. He probably should have gone with 2024 for a title, but he was spot on.

of course George Orwell was correct but one thing everyone seems to forget is that the public must be dumbed down sufficiently enough for the new language and the new ideology to be accepted by the people it seeks to dominate and assimilate. lack of education and the pursuit of same, by the majority of young people, is astoundingly prevalent

Our side does it too, but not as well. Semi auto rifles are now called "modern sporting rifles". For decades we called them autos. When you go hunting, you no longer kill a deer. Now its called "harvesting". Magazines that hold lots of bullets are now called "standard capacity". And thats just in the gun world. I cringe whenever I hear those blatant attempts at redoing the language. Nobody is fooled. And before the flames come on, I've been a gun collector for over 40 years. I own all kinds, from the late 1800's through the cold war and a few newer ones. I concealed carry daily and would not begrudge anyone else doing the same thing. I'm not by any means an anti-gunner.

Long before Orwell said it, the Bible notified us that in the last days, wrong would become ''right'' and black would be called ''white.'' Children would turn against parents and parents against children. Like the oldies song asks, ''How Long Has This Been Going On.''

To get to this point and beyond some words with meaning have to be 'canceled', shamed then made to disappear. Education is part of it. I have never seen such dumb down people in my seven decades of life. A country like Japan doesn't tolerate a government dumbing its citizenry down is it just the U.S.? Abnormal is the new 'normal'.

Especially since 9/11 we've been living "new normal" lives. Been to an airport recently? Remember the meme, "If we change our lives, the terrorists have won."? The American public lost huge amounts of liberty with their own full cooperation...anything for security...I got nothing to hide...the government is trustworthy...we will be protected by the Constitution...the courts will keep strict tabs on all this...cameras everywhere...databases...communications monitored...none of this is tinfoil hat stuff. It's our "new normal" leading into COVIDS mandates...science...all that... Winston Smith had more freedom in 1984.

Great observation by #11. At airports, I remember when family could accompany a departing family member all the way to the boarding gate. It's been 20 years now since that liberty was taken away. Those were the good old days. And now we have security screening, surveillance cameras, X-ray machines, proof of vax, body temperature sensors, and of course, masking.

Warping language is the province of propagandists. IIRC the Soviet Union twisted the word *fascist to mean brutal dictatorship (instead of their dictatorship of the proletariat). That, in the end at least could have functioned to distinguish their *socialism from the "Nationalsozialistische Deutsche Arbeiterpartei", the National Socialist German Worker Party" (Nazi). Like *socialism, *fascism can be either totalitarian, or democratic. IMO marker is whether the citizens can change the system without danger or hardship to themselves, or resorting to violence. A *fascist society, in my estimation, has all *stakeholders working toward a set of goals. In the FDR administration, government, industry, and *influencers had largely the same goals. That the citizens were okay with the measures has to be a factor in FDR's four election wins. Had they not been on board with the goals and measures, they would have tossed him out. That was "democratic" fascism. Hitler ran a government that was simultaneously totalitarian, fascist, and socialist. The sort description might be rule, system, and focus. - 30 -

I used to take pride in my vocabulary until I realized most people didn't understand what I was saying and too often were offended. They thoughtI was talking down to them.It was then that I realized the average American has no concept of most of the media's reports. Most Americans are not familiar with words such as temerity and feckless and likely just wrongly assume what the reporter is telling them. I am reminded of KISS and believe journalist should apply it and stop trying to impress one another.

What I find disturbing is the widespread ignorance of CommuNazi language perversion which leads to unquestioned validation. Once the CommuNazis have succeeded in perverting language it's nearly impossible to undo the damage. For example - Red State /Blue State. People keep calling non-communist states "Red" States. Red is communist and has been for a century. Every time someone calls a state a "Red" State they are validating the leftwing perversion of language. . Every time someone talks about government "investment" they are validating the leftwing perversion of language.

At law, fraud is a very specific act requiring that the person charged with fraud knowingly makes a false statement intending that people rely on it. Full disclosure: I despise Steven Spielberg movies and dislike both Romeo and Juliet and the 1961 West Side Story (WSS) movie. For that reason, I take particular delight in noting that Steven Spielberg's remake of WSS may have enthralled critics, but no one is rushing to see it. And no wonder, given that it's so darn woke that parts of it are in a language most Americans don't speak, but Spielberg refused to include subtitles. Let me quickly get through my biases. I hate Steven Spielberg movies because I find them overblown, predictable, and incredibly boring. I also dislike the way he presents children.
