Democrats Realize They've Got No Out for 2022

Last week’s Supreme Court oral arguments sparked a glimmer of hope on left, with the hope being to use a possible overturning of Roe v. Wade as a wedge issue in 2022 to drive turnout. But while signs are certainly pointing toward the “right” to abortion being gutted, would such an event really represent a reset for the coming election? Color me extremely skeptical that the electorate is that malleable at this point, and I’m apparently not the only one throwing cold water on the idea. Politico spoke to several Democrat strategists who not only think the abortion issue isn’t a winner for them, but that they should actually avoid

I wouldn't be shocked to see some level of repeat of 2020. Whether it's HR1 (or some equivalent) or just a repeat of mass ballot mailings in defiance of voting laws (probably due to some COVID variant), they might keep both chambers if 2020 repeats itself. If that happens, then I believe the country will see that the political system is hopelessly corrupt (the Unted States of California) and there will be no way to vote them out of office.

No matter how much fear mongering the lie-berals do, the sad truth is that if the Supreme Court totally reversed R v W tomorrow, abortion would still be legal in the strong majority of the states in this country. It would simply return the power to make laws about abortion to the individual states. As such, a handful of states would outlaw abortion in all cases, but they would not be right next door to each other. A handful of states would make abortion legal in all cases until the baby is born. But the strong majority of states would keep abortion legal for at least the first trimester, and possible beyond, but would put some limitations (like no partial-birth abortions or 3rd trimester abortions) in place. Consequently, no matter how much the lie-berals wale and gnash their teeth, and warn of an impending "Handmaids Tale" future for women in this country, the truth is that any woman that still wanted to slaughter her unborn baby (at least in the 1st trimester when supposedly most abortions happen) would probably be 3 to 4 hours away from a city in a neighboring state that would allow it. More inconvenient? Possibly. But maybe it's my morality, but I think a woman should be at least a little inconvenienced to kill her unborn baby!!!

I expect that within the next few months we'll see first Commie-La-La, then Sleepy Joe, ushered out and replaced by an even more leftist POTUS/VP. The party that stole 2020 and staged 1/6 is not going to sit still and let an electoral wave wash over them. Something big is in the works.

Abortion as a wedge issue is correct. The issue could go mute if congress would put a little time into making the morning after pill more available to anyone who wants it. Republicans wont push for that because some of them consider even the next morning termination to be murder. dim-0s wont push it because they would rather have the wedge issue.

Doctors: We're not seeing many infections

Don’t take it from me that getting boosted is a good idea. Take it from the GOP’s new political hero. The Wall Street Journal asked around among doctors to get a sense of whether the boosters are working. Are you seeing many patients with COVID who’ve had three doses, the paper inquired? A few here and there, they replied, as we’d expect based on the data showing 90+ percent protection against infection, not 100. But they’re rare and mild, typically involving hospital care only if the patient is elderly. Which sounds familiar. That’s the same posture the country faced in the first few months of the vaccine rollout this year,

Joe Biden, the career politician who likes to present himself as an everyman from Scranton, Pennsylvania, and his wife who prefers to be addressed as Dr. Jill Biden, attended the Kennedy Center Honors last night in Washington. The national press was giddy with glee to see a Democrat couple back in the presidential box for the ceremony. Normal is back, baby, and Joe is bringing it. Normal isn’t so great in this case. It’s a good illustration of the connection between politics and culture in America. Democrat politicians love the entertainment elites because they are of the same political party. Each year, the Kennedy Center hosts a weekend of celebratory events

Rep. Jared Golden is facing one of the toughest reelection battles in the country. One thing he says doesn’t keep him up at night, though, is President Joe Biden’s sinking approval rating. “I really don't care at all. I've got my own approach to doing things,” the Maine Democrat said, adding that he handily outran Biden in Trump country. “What I know about his approval ratings right now versus my own is that I'm outpacing him by about 30 points." Golden's nonchalance is rare. Most Democrats are worried that Biden’s flagging polling numbers — with an approval hovering in the low 40s — will lead to a thrashing at the ballot box.

When Alec Baldwin gave his tearful “don’t look at me” interview on ABC this week, he made any number of comments that seemed odd for a person who is still part of an investigation into the death of Halyna Hutchins. Perhaps one of the strangest, however, came when he told George Stephanopoulos that he had heard from “people in the know” that he was “highly unlikely” to face criminal charges over the shooting. That interview clearly caught the attention of Santa Fe District Attorney Mary Carmack-Altwies, who is in charge of investigating the shooting. She took the rather unusual step of giving a statement to the press on the subject,

As I was waiting for my flight to be de-iced Saturday before takeoff, a few folks texted me that CNN had terminated Chris Cuomo’s employment, converting his suspension into a permanent arrangement. This, of course, was no surprise, and probably the right decision. But unsurprisingly, CNN has handled the situation poorly throughout. The suspension and termination followed news that Cuomo had participated in a fraternal love-fest with his brother, former New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo. To promote a concocted image of effectiveness during the COVID-19 pandemic — not to mention his sexual harassment scandal — throughout last year, the elder Cuomo frequently appeared

The Clinton presidential campaign’s fabrication of the Russia hoax is the dirtiest trick in American political history. Beginning with Glenn Simpson/Fusion GPS and the Perkins Coie law firm, it enlisted co-conspirators in the Obama Department of Justice, the FBI, and the mainstream media. There was a lot of news this week, but I didn’t want to miss talking about how one very important Biden hypocrisy caught up to him this week during a White House press briefing. When President Donald Trump was in office, Joe Biden took every effort to blame all the COVID deaths on him. But now that Biden is in office and there have been more deaths under Biden than there were under Trump, even with vaccines and treatments, Biden and the media are strangely silent about those numbers. Biden is, of course, not taking any responsibility for those numbers. But White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki was asked

But that doesn’t mean that life has gone back to what it was in pre-pandemic days. Mayor Bill de Blasio sprung a COVID-19 vaccine mandate on all private businesses in New York City on Monday—drawing immediate rebuke from trade groups and some fellow elected officials who said the backbone of the Big Apple was “blindsided” by the stunning move. Adding to the shockwave, the policy is scheduled to go into effect in just 21 days, on Dec. 27. The announcement left New Yorkers and the city’s business community flabbergasted. Kathryn Wylde, head of the business group Partnership for NYC, blasted the mayor’s announcement. “There’s no forewarning, no discussion, no idea about whether it’s legal or who he expects to enforce it,” she said.
