While conservative media have spent the last few holiday seasons bemoaning the "War on Christmas," one television network is actually doing something about it. Using the cultural weapons of heartwarming settings, wholesome plotlines, and endearing characters, the Hallmark Channel has spent the last decade vanquishing the enemies of Christmas, who now lie prostrate on the field.

Their movie plots are all the same. It’s like watching the same movie with different actors over and over.

I'm a 60 year old man.....and I watch a lot of Hallmark this time of year. You can guess how the movie will end long before the end. The movies aren't preachy, everyone is nice to one another, any conflict is minor and the sets are beautiful. These are feel good movies.

I don't watch the Hallmark channel. These "Christmas" movies have very little to do with Christ. I'll stick with my DVD's.

How could they not relate to Christ? Think about the Greatest Commandment especially the second part to it. "Love your neighbor as yourself" does equate to Christ. Hallmark may not do it perfectly but perfection only exists in God. An added thought - it is not our job as Christians to clean off other people's doorstep because we have enough to keep our own clean. . .

I'm not a fan but a cousin and her friends absolutely LOVE these movies. They say some of the newer movies are a bit woke, they skip those and watch one of the dozens of other Christmas movies, they run nonstop this time of year.

To people of faith, Christmas has never been threatened... despite the intense effort to remove Christ from the holiday and turn it into an extreme, secular, consumption event. Besides, it is secondary the holiest day in Christendom... Easter!

ROME — The great takeaway from the coronavirus pandemic is a rejection of borders and walls, Pope Francis told the BBC on Friday morning. “Climate change and the Covid-19 pandemic have exposed our deep vulnerability and raised numerous doubts and concerns about our economic systems and the way we organize our societies,” the pope asserted in a special audio message for the launch of the COP26 Climate Conference. “The most important lesson we can take from these crises is our need to build together, so that there will no longer be any borders, barriers or political walls for us to hide behind,” he declared.

It hasn’t been easy to get to the bottom of the Sackler story. From the beginning, the family hid its business dealings in a tangle of subsidiaries. When reporter Barry Meier blew open the story of OxyContin in 2003 with his book Pain Killer: A Wonder Drug’s Trail of Addiction and Death, the Sacklers convinced his employers at the New York Times to ban him from writing about opioids over a contrived conflict of interest. Depositions have been sealed, whistleblowers intimidated, critics bought off, publications threatened with lawsuits.

Harvard Law School professor emeritus Alan Dershowitz pointed out on Friday that the Supreme Court had undercut the Democrats’ second article of impeachment by agreeing to hear three White House appeals against subpoenas. The second article of impeachment passed by the House Judiciary Committee earlier Friday on a party-line vote accuses President Donald Trump of “obstruction of Congress” because he appealed to the courts rather than immediately obeying congressional subpoenas.

The Bidens were on Biden time last night as they arrived at their designated spot for the National Christmas Tree lighting ceremony. They were late. They were late enough that the host of the ceremony held on The Ellipse in President’s Park south of the White House had to ask the audience to re-do their applause after the First Couple’s introduction. Last night was the 99th annual National Christmas Tree lighting. Is it too much to ask that Biden’s keepers get him outside on time to flip a switch? Apparently so, and it turned out to be a moment more awkward than usual for Sleepy Joe.
