Doctor explains how omicron variant could
speed up end of COVID pandemic

Dr. Houman Hemmati, a Ph.D. research scientist, explained how the latest variant of COVID-19 could actually bring the end of the pandemic sooner. On "Fox & Friends First," he said that the omicron variant, based on the few reports from South Africa, could be highly infectious and cause little disease, meaning that many people around the globe could be exposed and develop antibodies that would provide protection from future variants. [snip] "So far, we have just a trickle of reports coming out of South Africa. But hypothetically, if this doesn't cause significant disease or any real major disease

Comments:

Note that he frames this as a hypothetical.
Not yet enough information about 1) transmissibility and 2) severity of this variation to say that this is true.
Potentially a great way to get this DemPanic behind us.

The Demon-Rats are going to make sure that the pandemic is never "behind us". They have learned how easy it is to control the masses of peasants using fear, and they aren't about to give up that dictatorial power!!!

It's said that the frequency of mutations effectively prevents us from getting inoculated against the Common Cold (in contrast to the small number of common Influenza varieties, which gives researchers pretty good odds of getting a match between the variety for which they develop/produce vaccines for the next season and what actually materializes). What basis is there to expect any variant of this covid thing to be blocked by immunity against any other variant? This seems more akin to the variability of the cold than the flu.

Invermectin would have worked and this flu would be long gone. But then the pharmaceuticals and Fauci wouldn't have made any money.

Yes indeed, omicron "could" cause widespread infection, and induce immunity to other variants, without making people very sick. At this stage no deaths have been reported, but that may be due to the fact that all reported infections are in young people. We will shortly find out if omicron is lethal for older people, and the degree to which vaccination reduced susceptibility or severity of infection. No doubt anti-vaxxers will scream that Ivermectin will save us all (if not heal the entire universe), but I bet they won't find any data on the efficacy of Ivermectin against omicron!

Re #3, I think the actual issue in rhinoviruses that cause the common cold is that there are very many different viruses, not minor variants of the same virus. In this case, the percentage variation of these 'variants' is small, so that if your body has 'a look' (i.e. develops a large number of different antibodies, each identifying a different external feature of the virus, if the virus mutates slightly, then perhaps 10% of your antibodies to the original won't "see" it, but the remaining 90% will still be effective. These mRNA 'vaccines' give your body only the spike protein to develop antibodies to, a very small portion of the external structure of the virus, a "narrow view", so to speak. And on top of that, apparently that limited 'view' immunity doesn't last long, doubly damning these mRNA shots to ineffectiveness. And this ignores that clear evidence that the spike proteins by themselves are quite toxic.

Speaking of efficacy, #5, what studies can you recommend that prove the jabs have reduced susceptibility or severity of infection in any of the variants previous to Omicron? Just asking for a boostered vaxxer friend of mine who died from the Fauci Flu even though he "followed the science".

Re #5. The proof of ivermectin is in Uttar Pradesh. 210 million people and the disease is essentially OVER with there, dropped to nearly nothing once they began using ivermectin as an early outpatient treatment. But THAT information is absolutely forbidden to be reported on by the major US news companies.

Here's a challenge for #5. Go to Bing search and search on "COVID rate in India", What comes up is the whole country, decreasing steadily.. Now for the REAL eye opener.....choose by 'state' at the top and scroll way down to "Uttar Pradesh" (one of the largest states, over 210 million people). Their cases dropped to around 10 cases per day in mid August when they put ivermectin out to everyone who needed it as an outpatient early treatment. Daily new cases has bounced along at around 10-15 cases per day OUT OF 210 MILLION people since then, damned near zero. Everywhere in EU cases going through the roof because they WON'T use ivermectin. Same in most places here in the USA. Hard evidence that ivermectin, widely used for early outpatient treatment, ENDS this pandemic. https://www.bing.com/search?q=covid+rates+in+india&form=QBLH&sp=-1&pq=covid+rates+in+india&sc=0-20&qs=n&sk=&cvid=1B64F035DCBA42249A2F482E1A3682DC

As noted by many here - a virus will virus - do its thing etc. Dr John Campbell who does a You Tube on health from the UK noted this today - he quoted a Netherlands health official & another German professor. Chances are the virus will become more transmissible & less deadly. It may be the best thing to happen - everybody will get it - few people will get really sick or die and we will not have to worry about it anymore. Heard immunity will triumph. Virus's have only so much genetic material to 'mutate' - it is what a cold (corona) virus does - it develops one 'useful' feature for its survival or another - but not 2 or 4. That makes sense - killing off the host organism (humans) reduces the chance of reproduction for the virus.

My first thought on hearing about a very infectious, but mild form of the disease was delight. Remember where the word "vaccine" comes from? Latin for cow is vacca. Pasteur discovered that a case of itchy but harmless cow pox gave immunity to the deadly small pox. If omicron has the same effect on antibodies this could indeed be wonderful!

In covering the motions hearing last week in the trial of Kyle Rittenhouse, I noted a surprising comment from Judge Bruce Schroeder that he had "spent hours" with the Wisconsin gun law and could not state with certainty what it means in this case. The statement could effectively knock out the misdemeanor gun possession count – the one count that could still be in play for the jury after the prosecution's case on the more serious offense appeared to collapse in court. A close examination of that provision reveals ample reason to question not just its meaning but its application to this case.
