Former New Jersey Governor Chris Christie's new book touting himself as the potential savior of the Republican Party has sold just over 2,000 copies in the week since it was published. In its first week available in stores, Christie's tome titled Republican Rescue has sold just 2,289 copies, according to BookScan data cited by the publishing newsletter Press Run. Press Run author Eric Boehlert called the sales figures a 'a colossal publishing flop' and 'debacle' for Christie, comparing the dismal sales to the same-week sales of 24,000 for Jonathan Karl's new political book, Betrayal: The Final Act of the Trump Show. The meager book sales come despite persistent promotion

The same old Rinos are coming out of the woodwork to tell us how smart and electable they are. Don’t be fooled. Christie is in it for Christie. I would not vote for him. My vote is going to someone I know loves the country more than they love themselves. They all want to be President but none of them have had the drive to make this country great like President Trump. I voted for Chris Christie for New Jersey governor to rid the Garden State of the feckless Democrat, Jon Corzine. However, after four years of Governor Christie’s arrogant and boorish schtick, I could not vote for him again and voted for a third party candidate. Chris Christie’s embracing of President Barack Obama on the ravaged NJ shore after Hurricane Sandy and just before the presidential election, and Christie’s subsequent parking of his endomorphic carcass on the beach at Island Beach State Park during a state lockdown, we’re just too much to take. Incidentally, there’s a great Photo-Shopped photograph of Chris Christie in that same beach chair, sitting in front of Satriale’s Meat Market on Kearny Avenue in Kearny, NJ along with Tony Soprano, Paulie Walnuts and the rest of the guys from “The Sopranos.” It’s very funny!

The MTA has proposed spending $100 million over the next year on weekly COVID-19 tests for thousands of transit workers who refuse to get vaccinations. That works out to about $5,000 for each transit worker not now vaccinated. Metropolitan Transportation Authority data show about 20,000 of its employees—about 30% of the workforce—have not submitted proof that they have received at least one vaccine dose. The $100 million testing budget is enough to cover about $2,000 in hazard pay for the roughly 50,000 front line MTA workers who risked their health during the worst of the pandemic. There are many unknowns about the omicron variant of the coronavirus, including whether it spreads faster than other strains or is more deadly. But here’s another puzzler: How to pronounce it. Almost everything I've predicted has come true, including a stolen election based on mail-in voting without voter ID; a communist takeover of the USA based on lockdowns, COVID-19 "public safety" mandates and open borders; and President Joe Biden being a brain-dead puppet with dementia.

We’ve all heard the slogan “Guns don’t kill people, people kill people,” and human nature seems to bear out that bit of wisdom. The beginning of the book of Genesis recounts the story of Cain and Abel, two brothers who had a fatal falling out long before guns were invented. The only human remains found in the La Brea Tar Pits of Los Angeles belonged to a young woman who seems to have been a homicide victim 9000 years ago, again, long before guns were invented. Even after the invention of guns, people continue to kill each other with everything from common household implements to exotic poisons to complicated bombs.

The 'bullied' teenage gunman who shot dead four students at Oxford High School in Michigan on Tuesday has been identified as 15-year-old Ethan Crumbley. Crumbley lives with his parents James and Jennifer in a small home in Oxford, less than two miles from where he opened fire on Tuesday, killing Tate Myre, 16, Hana St Juliana, 14, and 17-year-old Madisyn Baldwin. A fourth boy, Justin Shilling, 17, died in the hospital on Wednesday morning. Crumbley's motive for the shooting remains unconfirmed by police, but kids at the school say he was being bullied.

The National Basketball Association (NBA) flexed its social justice muscles this week when the National Basketball Social Justice Coalition released a new video advertising the various causes that the organization will push. The video marks the coalition’s first step onto the media scene after the NBA announced the social justice-minded group last year. “Our goal is really simple. We want to take moments of protest, moments of people power like we saw last year and turn them into public policy.” Executive Director of the National Basketball Social Justice Coalition James Cadogan said in the video. “We want to change laws.”

To whom do liberals go when they want to tell their career-threatening stories to a sympathetic listener? Well, to be fair, they have several choices, but George Stephanopoulos is perhaps the favorite. So Alec Baldwin sought out Stephanopoulos to explain how he came to shoot and kill Halyna Hutchins. Today ABC News released a preview clip of that interview: In his first interview since the deadly Oct. 21 shooting, a tearful Baldwin told ABC News’ George Stephanopoulos he has “no idea” how the live bullet ended up in the firearm. “The trigger wasn’t pulled. I didn’t pull the trigger,” Baldwin said in a preview

DeFazio is the longest serving House member from Oregon and the 65th-longest serving member of the House in U.S. history. “With humility and gratitude, I am announcing that I will not seek re-election next year,” DeFazio said in a press release Wednesday. “It has been the greatest honor of my life to serve as Congressman for the Fourth District of Oregon. Nancy Mace, U.S. representative from South Carolina, has faced criticism online as a video surfaced showing how differently she speaks about vaccines while on Fox News compared to CNN. In her Fox News interview on Sunday, Mace spoke about the benefits of natural immunity over vaccination. While on CNN on the same day she said she was a supporter of getting vaccinations and highlighted the dangers of COVID.

As Ed has already pointed out this morning, you can’t always tell from oral arguments what Supreme Court Justices are thinking, much less where they will land in a final decision. But that doesn’t stop media outlets of all stripes from doing their best to read the room. And there seems to be general agreement from those who listened to the arguments this morning that there’s not a lot of good news here for abortion supporters. First up is Nina Totenberg at NPR: The right to an abortion in the United States appeared to be on shaky ground as a divided Supreme Court

Over the weekend, New York Democratic Governor Kathy Hochul signed an executive order halting "elective" or "non-essential" surgeries in the state, claiming it was necessary to prepare for the arrival of the latest Wuhan coronavirus variant. "We've taken extraordinary action to prevent the spread of COVID-19 and combat this pandemic. However, we continue to see warning signs of spikes this upcoming winter, and while the new Omicron variant has yet to be detected in New York State, it’s coming," Hochul released in a statement. "In preparation, I am announcing urgent steps today to expand hospital capacity and help ensure our hospital systems can tackle any challenges

Details are thin, but Presidentish Joe Biden reportedly will suspend his vaccine mandate for federal workers. According to a memo issued by the Biden administration, the “White House’s Office of Management and Budget is telling federal agencies they should hold off on suspending or firing federal workers for not complying with the vaccine mandate until after the holidays.” This is a huge cave for an administration whose remaining anti-COVID effort is focused almost exclusively on the vaccine mandate. Further lockdowns are out, according to one report. People have lost patience with social distancing and travel restrictions.

The news of the emerging Omicron variant was greeted with a giant shrug by most of America, and it’s no surprise why. The total failure of our establishment to earn our trust over the last two years of this pandemic made it inevitable that a huge number of people, at best, don’t care, and at worst think it’s a calculated lie designed to prolong this nonsense. The COVIDians are positively turgid over the idea of more mandates, more lockdowns, more masks, and more viro-fascism. So when the CEO of Moderna states that the vaccine might not be as effective against this new mutation as to earlier ones,
