As the Biden Administration continues to push American families into alternative energy sources by maintaining pain at the pump, Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg is attempting to explain away high gas prices.
During an interview with MSNBC over the weekend, Buttigieg reassured Americans they won't have to worry about an increase in gas prices ever again, so long as they buy an electric vehicle.
"Families who own that vehicle will never have to worry about gas prices again," Buttigieg said. "The people who stand to benefit most from owning an EV are often rural residents who have the most distances to drive, who burn the most gas, and underserved urban residents

Does this loon have any idea of “rural” life? I suppose there are going to be charging stations out in the middle of Wyoming.

Won't someone tell this dooofus that EV's won't get you to the market and back...Hyundai's Hybrid is touted for 33 miles per charge...I'd get to the market and 1/2 way back and it would die on me...and it still takes gas to run a hybrid...and an EV for winter? What happens in a snow storm or traffic jam? What about a heater and defroster and wipers?? This dumbazzzz is beyond redemption....

The only rural charging station I've ever seen is in Primm, Nevada - right off Interstate 15 and about four-fifths of the way from LA to Vegas, so you know that it wasn't put there for "rural residents" to use.
Is the guy that stupid or does he think that we're that stupid?

This is the same logic the woke use… “We don’t need big farms. Just get your vegetables at the store.” Pete Buttplug says, “Hey, you got 55 thousand dollars burning a hole in your pocket, don’t you? Just buy an electric car to save money on gas you haven’t got money for.” Moron.

I live in Wyoming. The state is 400 miles east-west by 350 miles north-south. I can't drive from Cheyenne to Evanston without stopping for a recharge. I can just barely get from Cheyenne to Sheridan, and then be stuck waiting for my EV to recharge so I can drive to supper. Aaaa, no!

Cough up 60 K for a Tesla !!! Woops Tesla's not unionized so no fat tax rebate. But I don't have to sweat gas prices. I just have to sweat electric bills, charging time, vehicle range, and battery life.

For those wondering how to find a charging station in rural areas don't worry we just passed a nearly 2 trillion dollar infrastructure bill. The efficient Brandon administration will have them everywhere in 6 months. Ha ha ha ha.

If some enterprising journalist wants to have some fun, just ask Mayor Pete how many new power generating stations this country is going to need if everyone converts to EVs. And then when the first wave of laughter dies down, ask him how many this administration already has shovel ready or even in the planning stage.

Ayor Pete apparently has no idea how much a new EV costs. Most normal people can't afford the monthly payment (or don't want to pay $600 to $1000 per month). Pete"s fairy land existence apparently shields him from everyday, real world problems.

Hey, how about we start imposing a $50 fine per day for students who drive to school when buses are readily available and 1/3 full, at most? I'm getting so sick of sitting in 1-mile backed up traffic so all the little big environmental saviors can turn into the school parking lot, most of them driving their own Lexus.

Strike One, Strike Two.
Even if it were true that emissions of carbon dioxide are causing global warming, which is itself a lie of monumental proportions, then electric cars are not the solution to reduce such emissions, because their full-cycle impact releases more carbon into environment than the gasoline engines they replace.

What's never explained is how are these electric cars going to be recharged? I know they self charge under certain situations, but one will still have to get a charging outlet installed at their home. I have no idea how much that costs. Buttjob also said people who live in rural areas would benefit from electric cars. Sure, use up all your power getting to wherever you are going, and hope there's a recharging station when you get there so you can get home. Plus, the range numbers for these cars aren't real. Batteries wear out and won't hold the same charge over time. So that 400 mile range might only be 200 after a period of time.
