Lieutenant William Kelly wants his job back after the Norfolk Police Department fired him following a $25 anonymous donation made to Kyle Rittenhouse’s legal defense fund in April 2021. Rittenhouse’s two-week trial for the shooting of three men during the 2020 Kenosha riots concluded on Friday with a not guilty jury verdict. Kelly, a 42-year-old, 19-year police veteran and father of three, was ten months away from his pension vesting when the Norfolk Police Department fired him.

Comments:

Ten months away from his pension. The story doesnt say if he's going to sue for damages, but we'd have to think he has a strong case if he does.

How did they find out about his anonymous donation anyway? Is there NO privacy anymore? Is it "1984" already?

This gentleman is being interviewed on Fox & Friends Sunday right now. How can an honorable member of law enforcement lose a life long job due to donating 25 dollar? Where is the mayor Kenny what’s his name and the police commissioner and police chief one this? This is outrageous. I bet you if he donated to BLM or Jacob Blake there would’ve been no problem. Ridiculous! FJB Let’s Go Brandon.

Those “woke” City police administrators are going to have one heck of a time recruiting and retaining competent police officers in the future. When you get to the bottom line that is only going to hurt “the community”.

"..citing an erosion of the public’s trust in the police." That's the reason cited by the police for firing him. What BS. Public trust has been lost in the police because they just stand by and watch BLM and Antifa pillage and destroy towns and cities. That's the reason people have lost faith in police, not because one individual donated to the defense of an innocent person.

I am not sure why he would want to work in that department after the way they treated him, but I would sue them for that pension money, and for the invasion of his privacy. Make them think twice about curbing a guy who served the city, right up until they fired him just short of pension.

What about all the yahoos who donated money to get the rioters out of jail last summer? Didn't VP Harris and other Democrat politicians encourage it? They should lose their jobs as well.

We recently looked at a report showing that the new infrastructure bill is a prime target for fraud, with analysts predicting that as much as 15% of the money being made available will be illicitly taken. The bill contains very few provisions to prevent that from happening. Today’s story out of California should serve as a reminder that the last rounds of COVID relief were similarly targeted by thieves and the problem is still ongoing.

Could it really be possible? Is disgraced former New York Governor Andrew Cuomo seriously considering mounting a political “comeback” and trying to take back his old job as Attorney General? There’s plenty of reason to doubt this story (as we’ll get to in a moment), but multiple outlets began reporting it yesterday, so let’s at least take a look. The story first broke in the New York Post and was later followed up at Mediaite. Other local outlets in the Empire State quickly began putting in calls requesting comment.

Just days before Youngkin’s victory, in my article “Democrats Are Imploding; All Is Well, Right?” I said that in fact all is very much NOT well. I ensured you that Youngkin was going to win, but noted that the Democrats do one thing very well – they don’t ever quit: I said the Democrats, and those who identify with them, are stupid. I didn’t say they were just going to quit.

President Joe Biden conceded Wednesday that inflation was a problem, three months after dismissing it as temporary. “Everything from a gallon of gas to loaf of bread costs more,” Biden said during an event promoting his infrastructure bill in Baltimore. “And it’s worrisome, even though wages are going up.” The president took a sharply different tone from his comments in July, when he dismissed rising costs and inflation as temporary and nothing to worry about. “Some folks have raised worries that this could be a sign of persistent inflation. But that’s not our view,” he said at the White House on July 19.

The latest incident happened at a Sam's Jewelers store at the Southland Mall in Hayward around 5:30pm PST Sunday evening, and was caught on camera. Robbers—said to have been part of a gang of around 40 to 50 teens who entered the mall—wielded hammers to smash display cases at Sam's, before making off with goods. Dramatic footage shot from a nearby store showed shop workers screaming with fear as the disturbing scene unfolded.
