More than a dozen NYPD cops have ditched the Big Apple to join the force in a small Florida city — part of a nationwide trend of disgruntled officers finding greener pastures in pro-police communities. Lakeland — a community of 108,000 people 35 miles east of Tampa — mounted a social media campaign targeting NYC cops earlier this year, and in April dispatched a delegation to recruit in Times Square. Fourteen former Finest moved to Lakeland in the past year — 12 of them wooed over the past two months thanks to the recruiting trip. The respect accorded cops in Florida “was an eye opener,”

Good news. Lakeland is a nice town. I have flown there in my aircraft many times from Kansas for the annual Sun'n Fun Fly-In. I highly recommend it for pilots and aviation buffs. Always a great air show, and nice place to hang out with fellow pilots. Good place for being a police officer, it sounds like.

What a stoke of genius that was! There is a large military presence in Lakeland and surrounding area. And it is more like ''middle America'' that even middle America is. Fair winds and following seas to the replanted policemen and their families. And, they get a great governor in the bargain.

Joe Biden’s nominee to head the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency, Saule Omarova, faced fierce questions from Republicans on the Hill today. Rightly so, given her radical positions on capitalism and banking. My colleague Dennis Santiago has written about some of those positions here and here. Here she is arguing why we should do away with private banking and increase government control by having everything run through the Fed. “How is it politically feasible for the Central Bank to effectively take money away from people’s accounts?” she asks. Joe Biden is just not popular. His agenda sucks. His presidency sucks. And the 2022 midterms are geared for a massive red wave that could render him irrelevant. The generic GOP ballot has a ten-point advantage over Democrats, according to The Washington Post's poll. It's the first time a gap that wide has ever been recorded. Rising inflation is an issue. There's a global supply chain crisis. Americans are still trapped in Afghanistan. And illegal aliens continue to flood the border. It's a mess—and Biden seems incapable of handling…anything. He has task forces to handle these issues, but they never solve the problem,

He was chased down by Joseph Rosenbaum, a 36-year-old convicted child molester; he shot Rosenbaum when Rosenbaum grabbed for his gun. This week, the Kyle Rittenhouse trial heated up as more and more details came out about exactly what happened that night. In true Tucker Carlson fashion, he had a hilarious and sarcastic take on the trial, especially when it comes to Joseph Rosenbaum, a chid rapist who attacked Rittenhouse that night last summer. “The trial confirmed exactly what happened, and here are the facts about it. A convicted child rapist called Joseph Rosenbaum was released from a mental hospital and then went directly to join the mob that was burning downtown Kenosha. Once he got to the riot, Rosenbaum saw Kyle Rittenhouse and immediately threatened to kill him,” Tucker explained.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has quietly acknowledged that far more people have natural immunity than was earlier reported. The CDC quietly acknowledged that a staggering 146.6 million people have been infected by the Sars-CoV-2 virus and have survived it. The CDC updated its May figures in October after declining to update the numbers for five months. The CDC estimates that 124 million of the 146.6 million infections resulted in “symptomatic illnesses,” although it is unclear why only one in four infections sought out medical treatment. The CDC further estimated that there were 7.5 million hospitalizations,

This week’s decision on who to select as our top knucklehead was not an easy one, as Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA) provided stiff competition (pun intended, and more to follow) for this week’s honoree. But Assistant Prosecutor Thomas Binger – who has led the prosecution’s murder case against Kyle Rittenhouse – has made the trial look more like an episode from the 1980s sitcom “Night Court” than a high-profile trial receiving national attention. And speaking of TV lawyers, do you suppose Binger graduated from The University of America Samoa Law School like Jimmy McGill from “Better Call Saul?”

As Tom Tapp reported for Deadline, this is the third time that Newsom has issued such an extension. As it is with “medical expert” commentary, the state of legal analysis in the media is absolutely dire, as we’ve noted here previously. One big reason why is thanks to the strong political biases of legal analysts like CNN’s Jeffrey Toobin. While it’s not necessarily a bad thing to be a politically opinionated legal analyst, what is wrong is allowing your biases to cloud your judgment as to the specific facts of the cases/trials on which you’re being asked to provide comment and analysis. In Toobin’s case, his analyses about the Kyle Rittenhouse case have been so bad that even the trial’s judge – Bruce Schroeder, an evil man according to leftists
