Fed’s Clarida Acknowledges ‘Much More
Than Moderate Overshoot’ of Inflation Target

Federal Reserve Vice Chairman Richard Clarida said on Nov. 8 that inflation this year has been far higher than the Fed expected, and while he still believes inflationary pressures are transitory and will dissipate “over time,” a longer run of elevated prices would amount to a policy failure on the part of the central bank. (snip) “Let me be clear on two points. First, realized PCE inflation so far this year represents, to me, much more than a ‘moderate’ overshoot of our 2 percent longer-run inflation objective, and I would not consider a repeat performance next year a policy success,”

If you are so air headed that you did not expect high inflation with all the money printing, then you do not belong on the Federal Reserve.

The Fed has no clue. Their basic premise is to protect the Stock Market. Remember Alan Greenspan in 2008. He tanked the Home Ownership market to ensure money went back into the Stock Market. The Fed's money actions are doing the same today, taking us on the Road to Venezuela.

A top infectious disease doctor has raised alarm about COVID-19 vaccine mandates despite top federal officials recommending them for businesses, schools, and other institutions. Dr. Matthew Memoli, who runs a clinical studies unit within the National Institutes of Health’s National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases—headed by Dr. Anthony Fauci—is scheduled to argue against COVID-19 vaccine mandates during a Dec. 1 seminar hosted by the agency, according to David Wendler, a senior NIH bioethicist who is planning the seminar. “There’s a lot of debate within the NIH about whether [a vaccine mandate] is appropriate,” he told the Wall Street Journal. “It’s an important, hot topic.”

Eight years ago, Chinese Communist Party (CCP) General Secretary Xi Jinping suggested problems were eminent for party officials who choose to become “naked officials.” He was referring to those who send their spouses, children, and money abroad to make it easier to “jump ship” whenever they want to. Just recently, the CCP media reiterated Xi’s words criticizing party officials for being physically in China, but mentally abroad. To draw attention to this matter, the CCP Central Discipline Inspection Commission recently quoted an article published in the Study Times telling the story of three “naked officials” and suggesting there are more. The first was Cao Jianliao, the former vice mayor of Guangzhou city.

The Twitter-sphere, The Daily Mail, and even The Sacramento Bee were looking everywhere for Gavin Newsom on Monday after the California governor canceled events and ducked out of sight for a few days. Did he have COVID or a reaction to his recent booster shot? Nope. Newsom was at the Ivy Getty wedding on Saturday at City Hall, a guest and two media outlets say. Getty is a billionaire oil heiress and great-granddaughter of oil tycoon J. Paul Getty. Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi officiated the 500-person wedding under the grand rotunda of the closed City Hall.

Special counsel John Durham’s latest indictments impugn the source of the now-debunked Steele dossier’s most salacious accusations, which quickly elevated Mr. Durham from zero to hero in the eyes of some of his harshest critics. His investigation into suspected wrongdoing by FBI officials in launching the Trump-Russian collusion investigation was viewed as a laughingstock by former President Donald Trump and his supporters. They mocked the investigation for taking more than two years to produce only one guilty plea. But the investigation roared to life this fall as Mr. Durham secured indictments against two defendants with ties to the Democratic Party. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) “is mailing charging documents to place noncitizens in removal proceedings who have been paroled or released under prosecutorial discretion by Customs and Border Protection,” an ICE spokesman told The Epoch Times in an email. The illegal immigrants, numbering about 78,000, will receive packets of documents, including ones directing them to report to the ICE office closest to where they’re living, and that they will be processed for possible deportation.

An interview by Maria Bartiromo this morning highlights one of the dynamics almost invisible to most voices who speak on a granular level about the background of Spygate, and where they believe John Durham is going. In this interview, former Director of National Intelligence John Ratcliffe outlines the moment in August of 2016 when Team Obama (he uses John Brennan) tells the president what Team Clinton is doing. To set the correct context to understand the importance of what Ratcliffe is outlining here, it is important to remember that inside the executive branch of government, heading into the 2016 election, the two distinct camps were operating based on their

Hillary begat Mueller, and Mueller begat Biden. It’s interesting that John Durham’s indictment of Igor Danchenko appears to be exciting more speculation about targets within the Clinton Campaign than did the indictment of a pretty bona fide insider like Michael Sussmann. In July, Kavanaugh and Barrett joined the court’s leftist majority in declining to hear Arlene’s Flowers v. Washington, a critical religious liberty case. Tacoma, Wash.—A metallurgist in Washington state pleaded guilty to fraud Monday after she spent decades faking the results of strength tests on steel that was being used to make U.S. Navy submarines. Elaine Marie Thomas, 67, of Auburn, Washington, was the director of metallurgy at a foundry in Tacoma that supplied steel castings used by Navy contractors Electric Boat and Newport News Shipbuilding to make submarine hulls. From 1985 through 2017, Thomas falsified the results of strength and toughness tests for at least 240 productions of steel—about half the steel the foundry produced for the Navy, according to her plea agreement, filed Monday in U.S. District Court in Tacoma.

Congress is requiring in its $1.2 trillion infrastructure bill that automakers install monitoring systems in their cars to stop drivers from operating their vehicles while intoxicated. The bipartisan package, which is on its way to the president's desk after passing the House on Friday, allocates around $17 billion for the road safety programs. Monitoring systems to stop drunk drivers would roll out in all new vehicles as early as 2026, according to the new legislation. First, however, the Transportation Department would have to assess what the best form of technology is and give automakers ample time to comply. DOT Secretary Pete Buttigieg said Monday that the safety programs included
