The Biden administration in just the past year alone stockpiled the records of more than 54 million U.S. gun owners and is poised to drastically alter gun regulations to ensure that information on Americans who own firearms ultimately ends up in the federal government's hands, according to internal Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms (ATF) documents obtained by the Washington Free Beacon. [snip] The procurement of these records by the ATF comes as the Biden administration moves to alter current laws to ensure that gun records are stored in perpetuity. Currently, gun shops can destroy their records after 20 years, thereby preventing the ATF from accessing the information in the future.
ATF has been rogue since the day it was created. They have never followed the law or even their own rules. I guarantee every Blue Book and 4473 that is sent to ATF is not only digitized, but added to a database in violation of the law. ATF has regularly been busted over the years violating records storage and data retrieval regulations from gun shops.
Like any other alphabet, they will never be held accountable by those in Congress, who are supposed to have oversight over this.

Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms should be the name of a store, not a federal agency.

They could use those resources and funding to actually enforce current laws, like prosecuting those who lied on their backgound investigations [drug-addicts like Hunter BIDEN].

Many of us have never purchased a firearm from a dealer! We are well supplied and are thankful for not being in the system!

Another step taken by the communist death democrats to confiscate and outlaw possession of firearms and do away with the second Amendment. They will start seizing guns from individual owners and then cow the rest of us into voluntarily giving up our weapons.

It is SPECIFICALLY ILLEGAL, under federal law, to create ANY form of a federal register of gun owners.

#12, it bears looking into, should they use the illegally compiled data to go after anyone, if the doctrine of 'fruit of the poisoned tree' wouldn't apply in such cases. Followed up with title 18, section 241/242 charges against the hired thugs who carried out the assault.

Remember… In the third debate, Beto said “Hell yes we are going to take your guns”. Then the next morning he said the quiet part out loud on a morning talk show: “We will use the Commerce Clause to get around the second amendment.”
He told the truth and they forced him to withdraw before the next debate.

Dems shred? Hardly a monopoly...who created the FISA courts with all sorts of "protections" post-9/11? Government is an insatiable beast. information is power, and consolidating information in this day and age is an invitation to a world Winston Smith couldn't even imagine. But, it's all for our "security"...we can't let those terrorists win, can we?

Can't be. Current law prohibits the FBI, the ATF or any federal agency, department or officer from using NICS data to create a firearms owner registry of any sort, except those persons who are prohibited from possessing a firearm.

#14, I'm no lawyer, but that does sound like a really solid legal strategy if they ever use this information in any legal case. Prove that they used an illegally created database, and then ANY use of it becomes, as you have said, "fruit of the poison tree" and invalid in court.
This has been used when there were illegal searches MANY times, and should be just as valid....at least to this guy who learned a BIT of law from a few lawyer friends over the years.....and unfortunately from TV, which is probably mostly BS, like everything else on TV.

The main reason I never joined the NRA. Why get your name on a list the Government is going to use.
They would have to go back 65 years to get a record of me buying my J.C. Higgins shotgun, and they might be desperate enough to do that.
I was 15 when I ordered it through the mail.

#2 is correct, your background check collects that data for the feds before you have that shiny new gun in your hands. Having the data is one thing, coming for the gun is quite another, that's where the red line is.
