McAuliffe among Virginia likely voters

Republican Glenn Youngkin has moved ahead of Democrat Terry McAuliffe in the Virginia governor’s race, less than a week before the election. McAuliffe receives 45 percent to Youngkin’s 53 percent in a new Fox News survey of Virginia likely voters. Youngkin’s eight-point advantage is outside the poll’s margin of sampling error. That’s a big shift from two weeks ago, when McAuliffe was ahead by five, 51-46 percent. Among the larger pool of registered voters, it’s a one-point race: McAuliffe 47 percent vs. Youngkin 48 percent. Two weeks ago, McAuliffe led among registered voters by 11 points, 52-41 percent.

Comments:

Holy moly! Need to see a few more like this to be optimistic, however.

Will the Chosen One come back again and campaign on behalf of Terry "Monster" McAuliffe? Will his wife, the Always Angry Wookie, make the trip or plan for next year's birthday celebration at the Mansion?

Yeah, yeah... but what we really want to know is, how is Youngkin polling with Dominion Voting Machines?? That's what matters.

As a Virginian, I am cautiously optimistic. I've heard stories of many Northern Va. moms voting Republican for the first time due to the raucous school situation. Added to that, several districts in the state, including Richmond and Virginia Beach, are either releasing students early one day every week or so or taking days off to give teachers a mental health break. That's not playing well with parents. Also of interest, Gov. "Blackface" Northam has not been on the campaign trail for McAuliffe.

If I were a Virginia voter, the appearance of the gap-toothed, fat black, tax-evading governor of Georgia, Stacy 'never give up' Abrams telling me if McAullife wins the state will become another Texas and won't let you murder babies in the womb, that would cinch my vote for McAullife!

Sen. Tim Kaine claimed that the United States created the institution of slavery. During Tuesday remarks on the Senate floor, the Virginia Democrat addressed the issue of accountability in police departments but later claimed that the U.S. created the institution of slavery. "The first African Americans sent into the English colonies came to Point Comfort, Virginia, in 1619. They were slaves. They had been captured against their will. But they landed in colonies that didn't have slavery. There were no laws about slavery in the colonies at that time. The United States didn't inherit slavery from anybody. We created it," Kaine said.

In a 4-3 decision, the Wisconsin Supreme Court on Wednesday struck down the state's stay at home order, handing a defeat to Democratic Gov. Tony Evers in his administration's response to the COVID-19 pandemic. With the governor's stay-at-home order suspended, Gov. Tony Evers and legislative Republicans will need to work quickly to come up with a replacement plan, otherwise it may be up to individual counties to implement a patchwork of their own COVID-19 regulations. In its order, the Supreme Court said Evers' stay at home order is "invalid, and therefore, unenforceable," so businesses and restaurants presumably may open immediately.
