I hate to say it. But I believe they will lose. Not because their cause isn't righteous. When one enlists in the military, one effectively becomes the property of the federal government. The Bill of Rights and Constitution is something that you defend, for those not in the military and those who wish to subvert it. Freedom of speech, assembly and association etc etc are rights for "other" people.

They should win, in any kind of a sane world. However, I am beginning to doubt that there are many sane people left.

But, but, but, the US Postal workers don't have to take the vaccine , same with the House and Senate and their aides. Also, the illegals coming up from the southern border don't have to take it either. Why not?

If the other government workers can have unions and rights, it's time for the military to have their turn. The constitutional military is the most abused of all government agencies.

The one thing these people have going for them is the way the Feds have inconsistently applied the mandate. An argument can be made that the mandate is selective and as such, does no good.

Soldier, statesman, and skilled bureaucratic infighter Colin Powell has died at 84.Born in Harlem in 1937 and raised in the Bronx, Powell grew up in an ethnically diverse neighborhood that included Italians, Jews, and African-Americans. In his youth, he picked up enough Yiddish that in 1993, as Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, he greeted Israeli Prime Minister Yitzhak Shamir with the words, “Men kent reden Yiddish” (we can speak Yiddish). Shamir was fluent in the language but unprepared for the words coming from a gentile American military man. Powell took advantage, saying, again in Yiddish, “Don’t you understand?”

What some U.S. forces thought would be 96 hours on the ground in Afghanistan evacuating U.S. embassy staff turned into 16 days and evacuating 124,000 people. With the world’s eyes on them, they did their best to wrangle the situation under control. When the State Department finally triggered the non-combatant evacuation operation (NEO) on August 14, after the Taliban had already entered Kabul — thousands of desperate Afghans rushed to the Kabul airport to evacuate. The Pentagon sent two Marine battalions and the 82nd Airborne Division’s Immediate Reaction Force, which is not specifically trained to conduct NEOs but acts as the Army’s quick reaction force.

Now that the Biden administration’s shambolic Afghanistan bugout is (at least nominally) complete, the big question is: What comes next? The answer depends on what the American people, and the politicians who represent them, believe to be the reality on the ground. And if they get their information from the nation’s self-appointed “paper of record,” The New York Times, they’ll believe a reality quite at odds with what we really know about the Taliban. In the weeks since the withdrawal and even during it, that coverage has often been light to nonexistent. And what reporting it has done has bathed the Taliban in a softer, gentler glow
