One of the more common questions that’s been making the rounds lately, particularly in terms of how various countries are handling their pandemic responses, is “what the heck is happening to Australia?” The most heavily populated states in the country have been imposing some of the harshest lockdowns and COVID restrictions in the world, with videos emerging showing police firing rubber bullets into crowds, macing elderly women, and beating people down in the streets, all for the crime of being outdoors without permission. But now even more chaos down under is making headlines. The main focus seems to be on the state of New South Wales,

“ But as one Aussie analyst recently quipped during the evening news, the problem isn’t that Australia is peopled by folks who are the descendants of criminals and prisoners. The problem is that it’s being ruled by the descendants of jailors.”
That can explain a lot about the mindset of Aussie government types. Also they’re more British in their thinking than Americans.

If you read the articles linked to the posted article, apparently Gladys Berejiklian resigned because of a corruption investigation, but professes not to know what it is about. That sounds fishy - if you are innocent, or believe you're innocent, why not stay and fight. If I had to guess (and that's what I'm doing), I'd guess she knows exactly what it is about, knows it is serious, and gambles that the investigation will die with her out of office. It may not die, but it will lose steam with her out of office.

Dear Aussie cousins...learn from what has happened (and still is happening) here. The ONLY way the virus will disappear is through acquired natural immunity (i.e., when a significant portion of the population gets it and gets over it). It will NOT be stopped by lockdowns, masking, or ineffective pseudo-vaccines.
The authorities are lying to you, just as they are lying to us here.

The Premier claimed that she doesn’t know what alleged corruption they are investigating? More likely doesn't know Which alleged corruption they are investigating.

American state media is not carrying the stories of Australia or France. Youtube is suppressing this information. You have to got to Rumble to see the videos. I saw one video of 4 Australian police going from house to house to question residents if they had been to a protest, or were planning to attend a protest, and a list of other questions. I was glad to see the truckers blocking the roads in protest. I saw empty grocery shelves because the truckers are not delivering food. The construction workers have filled the streets in protest. The Australian police have used rubber bullets, tear gas, physical force on protestors just standing there. The intolerance of the Australian left is they have no tolerance for the opposition to live or work. I hope the protests get larger and the people of Australia and France win back their freedoms. Despite what Dr. Fauci says about surrendering our freedoms in America, that is never going to happen. If force is used on those who love freedom, then force will be used to protect freedom.

The government giving itself total control and power over the people in the form of lockdowns tends to lead to corruption and chaos in the leadership who feels that they can act unchecked. Once the general population gets wind of this, it will lead to unrest and more chaos and civil disobedience will begin.

#2, That "quipped" explanation fits exactly with what my former boss told me about his decade serving as a minister in Australia. He found a lot of relatively hidden social dysfunction that seems related to this prisoner-jailer mentality. And a deep seated hatred of all who succeed in society by many blue collar folks. I was quite surprised, but then, I've never been to Australia, and all I "know" comes from movies and books. Clearly not the whole story.
And the "jailer" mentality....yep, that sure fits with what we've been seeing. "Geez, those leaders act like Nazi prison guards"...Oh, wait.

I dunno about the jailer mentality with the Aussies. There was a time in their past
when some of the police were as corrupt and evil as what we see again today, but
I speculate this pitiless sword at the throat of citizen power comes from earlier in their
British past, where a thread of un-democratic blunt force has survived for hundereds of
years, surely from before the wars of the roses era.
It comes out today in the UK in such forms as their over the top control of firearms, lest the
yeomenry can protect their persons, and potentially thwart the will of the state. It may,
in fact be hatred and rejection of this aspect of British reality that empowered the American revolution. The King's will has not prevailed here.

This is what happens when you let a government take your guns. The Aussies found out the hard way.
Don’t let it happen here.
