Marcia Lucas, who won an Oscar for her editing work on Star Wars (1977), ripped into Kathleen Kennedy and J.J. Abrams and their new Star Wars trilogy.
Interviewed in a new book, she doesn’t hold back:
I Like Kathleen. I always liked her. She was really smart and really bright. Really wonderful woman. And I liked her husband, Frank. I liked them a lot. Now that she’s running Lucasfilm and making movies, it seems to me that Kathy Kennedy and J.J. Abrams don’t have a clue about ‘Star Wars.’ They don’t get it.

The original three as they were screened originally in theatres is all there should have ever been.. period. And even then, Ewoks... sigh.

J.J. Abrams blows. Same clown that f'ed up the Star Trek franchise by 'reimaging' it.

#4, you should at least watch the first one, or even two or three.
But at least the first one. It's a good flick.

I loved the original Star Wars trilogy, but some people don't know when to leave well enough alone.

JJ Abrams is a movie murderer. If you did to a dog what he does to movies they would toss you in the slammer for cruelty to animals.
PETA would sue you.
Little kids would egg your house.

After the first three, the franchise started down the proverbial slippery slope and is well past saving at this time...move on people!

Agree with others here. Abrams kills successful franchises; maybe intentionally.

Can anyone tell me: what's gonna make the Sith happy? They like to destroy planets and every single person in the galaxy? Really? Who will make their capes and footwear?
It is not simply two warring tribes going to war. It is one nihilistic demigod brute force that wants to kill everyone. Including on its own side.
Does that make any logical sense?

They turned it into another Grrl Power franchise.
Indiana Jones is next.
HeMan became the Princess Vespa show with HeMan being weak and stupid and Vespa an all powerful lesbian. That’s a kid carton for boys.

I agree.
Disney just wanted to milk more $$$$ from a cash cow.
It got so bad they had to call George Lucas back in to find a way to wrap up all the damage done by the Disney story arcs.
Nothing against female Jedi-- they are cool!
Just too many things that never seemed to add up.
The Mandalorian series was much better and more well thought out-- Wondering what they are going to do with Obi Wan series...

Star War grew into all about selling action figures. The first several movies were entertaining because the characters were entertaining but the science of the whole thing became ridiculous. Life sabers to fight with? The technology is 21st century. Ewoks, using trees to destroy a force that uses machines to traverse hundreds of light years. Jar Jar, a mentally deficient being capable of flying one of these machines. It just got too unrealistic even for SciFi.

While I definitely agree with #14 on the low tech vs. high tech lack of reality with light sabers and ewoks's weaponry, I have to observe that the Taliban defeated the highly technical and well-equipped U.S. Army. It is called the will to fight, even to the death.

Once Disney gets involved in anything, the woke, perverted, diversity and inclusion diseases naturally follow. The later Star Wars productions are horrible imitations with "B" actors in space costumes.

Unfortunately, all these “girls’ power” movies are sending messages to our daughters and granddaughters that they are expected to be real badasses. Two things are happening. The first is that it is spawning some really nasty females, and the second is that some girls see the desired image but can’t live up to it. You know what the trend is among high school girls now? It’s self-mutilation by cutting.

I couldn't make head or tail out of Episode 8, partly because the captions cut out for a large portion of it, but I enjoyed Episode 9.

Star Wars was a western. Now it's a mish-mash of stupidity. There are only three worth watching.
