Emmy viewers call out celebs for not wearing
masks, social distancing at
2021 show

The Emmys were skewered on social media as viewers took notice of the lack of coronavirus safety measures, specifically masks. The 2021 awards show was one of the first to return to the typical in-person format following more than a year of delayed and adjusted ceremonies like the Oscars and Golden Globes. Few of the stars in attendance on Sunday were seen on the broadcast wearing masks or observing social distancing guidelines.

Comments:

Total hypocrites. And for that reason, among many others, I'm going to make a bold prediction: when the ratings come out for this joke of a program, viewership will be down again. You heard it here first.

Good grief, people. When are you going to quit “calling them out” on their hypocrisy and just start living your own lives MASKLESS . We all know there is absolutely no scientific reason for masks, it is unenforceable on a large scale basis, and the sooner people absolutely refuse to comply and submit, the sooner this will be over. It will continue as long as We The People allow it to continue. Refuse to Comply.

I could care less if anyone at the Emmy Awards wore a mask or not. It is up to each person if they wore a mask not. Of course, they are all so vain, they would never cover their faces given to opportunity to get the free publicity the Emmy Red Carpet gives them. They are all too tone deaf and oblivious to the real world to even consider that their constant calls to vaccinate and wear masks might be considered hypocritical when they ignore their own advice. They are the elite. Rules like masking only apply to the little people, not them.

Who cares? The Emmy's, like the Oscars and every other celebrity award show, is just a bunch of self important celebrities rewarding each other for acting in shows that nobody watched or cared about with awards that nobody watches or cares about except themselves (and maybe the Hollywood press). If these shows were ever to become relevant again, let real people nominate best whatever, then vote on who wins from the nominees. What Hollywood thinks was good (usually something nobody heard of or saw) and everyone else like are on different ends of the spectrum. I guess us common folks are just not good enough to know what we should like.

First of all, the people who watched the Emmy's are most likely demosluts. So the sight of unmasked people sets them off. At this point in time, if your still upset about celebrities not wearing masks, then you've got to get a life. Suck it up and move on. The world isn't going to come to an end because your favorite Marxist celeb isn't wearing a mask and social distancing. Besides, who social distance anymore?

Years ago I used to watch the preOscar show to see the gowns, never the boring show. I don't watch any of it anymore. Didn't even know the Emmy's were on last night. I don't care if they wear masks or not - I don't wear one and if a business insists on it, I take my business elsewhere. My husband and I have decided not fly unless absolutely necessary because of the mask mandate at the airport, on the plane then at the airport again. BTW, last time I flew about a month ago, my mask was on the whole time and still picked up a bug somewhere along the line. So much for masks, but we all knew that.

A new Supreme Court brings new hope to reeling in unchecked federal power. For the last few decades, the Supreme Court has allowed Congress to delegate unchecked power to unelected agency officials, who are mainly part of the executive branch. The executive branch has thus legislated through unelected officials and latched onto powers not granted to them via the Constitution. The most recent example is President Joe Biden’s mandate that large employers require their workers to be vaccinated or test for the virus weekly.

In a 5-4 decision, the highest court in the nation declined to block Texas’ newest abortion law despite protests from Planned Parenthood, other abortion activists, and even journalists. Radical pro-abortion facilities and activists first brought an emergency petition to the Supreme Court with the hopes that the justices would at least temporarily block the law from going into effect on Sept. 1.

Did you hear that Robin is bisexual? If you are a dedicated comics reader, it may surprise you, as it did me. In DC Comics’ anthology “Batman: Urban Legends issue #6,” Batman’s sidekick, Robin (the third one, Tim Drake), transforms into a bisexual. While rescuing his old buddy Bernard, Drake finds himself smitten. Meghan Fitzmartin, the writer of the story, described to NPR that Drake finally admitting to being bisexual is his “light bulb moment.” The significance “has been others seeing themselves in the character and feeling seen and cared for in a way that speaks to something that they’ve seen for a long time,” gushed Fitzmartin.

Boy or girl? If it was up to the American Medical Association (AMA), not even parents would know. Once again revealing the organization’s highly politicized motives, the AMA said sex should be removed as a legal designation on birth certificates. “Designating sex on birth certificates as male or female, and making that information available on the public portion, perpetuates a view that sex designation is permanent and fails to recognize the medical spectrum of gender identity. This type of categorization system also risks stifling an individual’s self-expression and self-identification and contributes to marginalization and minoritization,” said AMA Board Chair-Elect Sandra Adamson Fryhofer, M.D.

On paper, making a new version of the beloved 1996 “Space Jam” looks like an easy layup. The movie should be a cash cow, targeting nostalgia-loving millennials who are now parents wanting to introduce Looney Tunes to their own kids. We even have a cocky NBA superstar to boot. Yet Hollywood executives managed to misread what exactly made the original “Space Jam” so great, and spike their version with shameless money-grabs along the way. Instead of Michael Jordan, “Space Jam: A New Legacy” stars LeBron James. And instead of playing an intergalactic basketball game to secure freedom for the Looney Tunes,

After a conservative backlash, Republican senators negotiating an infrastructure bill have objected to an increase in funding and authority for the IRS. In lieu of additional revenue obtained from auditing taxpayers, how do lawmakers now propose to fund increased federal spending allegedly on roads and bridges? Through a budget gimmick. In short, Congress now wants to repeal a rule that 1) hasn’t gone into effect and 2) likely won’t ever go into effect, so it can take the phony “savings” associated with repealing something that won’t happen anyway and use it to “pay for” real increases in spending.

The Biden administration has also backed Jackson Women's Health Organization, the only abortion clinic in Mississippi, in its fight over the state's attempted ban.
