We let Marxists control our schools, and just as they promised, they serve as transmission belts for socialism and current Communist propaganda, they break down cultural standards of morality by promoting pornography and obscenity in books and other media, and they present homosexuality, degeneracy and promiscuity as normal, natural, healthy. Similar coverage: "Last week, in Leander, Texas, a parent at a school board meeting complained of a novel her son brought home from the school’s library, which contained graphic scenes of two fourth-grade boys engaging in oral sex. “Who normalizes sex acts between fourth graders? Pedophiles,” the mother, Brandi Burkman, said during the public comment portion of the school board meeting on Sept. 9th. She read several obscene passages from the book, titled “Lawn Boy,” with audible gasps from the attendees. “In addition, I will share with you the exceptional quality of vocabulary,” Ms. Burkman continued. “I stopped counting on page 66 after 44 [expletives] and 41 [expletives].” https://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2021/sep/15/public-schools-are-worse-than-you-think/

Hey, if you want students to learn to write creatively, you have to assign them write about something that interests them. From what I recall from high school in the 1960's, everyone was interested in sex. /s Okay, I can see how it's better to keep those fantasies bottled up, the way we did. This could lead to all sorts of complications from overstimulation, not to mention the legitimate concerns of parents. It's tough to imagine the teacher reading and grading these assignments without forming odd preconceived ideas about his/her students.

I am sad to say that many teachers coming out of college today think nothing of something like this. They are fully indoctrinated in the mindset of the depraved democrats and are activists too. Their thinking is so far removed from what is good and right that it is shocking. Not all, of course, but far too many. The problem is the people hiring these teachers. We have some very bad people in the teaching profession from top to bottom. No morals, no standards, no self-respect. It is a microcosm of the culture now trickling down to our kids. Parents must be vigilant. It is happening all over the country. Our children are being sacrificed on the altar of perversion by those tasked to educate them.

When are parents going to realize that public school with today's teacher unions is just as dangerous as letting your kid play in the street, drive at age 13, or cook meth in your basement.

I will say this, often schools buy books based on the author's reputation. Librarians are not able to read every single book they order. The Gary Paulsen appears to have a good reputation in kid's books. But, as one parent in the article noted, this is a grooming book. Perhaps Paulsen decided to let the evil that dwells in his soul out. In this anything-but-heterosexual-white-male goes cultural and legal climate today, he probably felt free to push his proclivities onto young minds. I am not, nor will I defend anyone who stocks this book after being alerted to its presence. But I will not hold it as purposeful until evidence emerges that it was bought with malice of forethought.

I need to clarify. I got caught up in the book cited by a parent in the article called Lawn Boy by Gary Paulsen. The adoption committee for the prompt book needs to be questioned. They are responsible for verifying the content of any text adopted by the school system and used in the classroom. It would not have been difficult for them to assign each committee member a section of the book to review. That's where it starts.

If I may take the other tack, creative writing is just that, creation from one's imagination. There are enough things wrong with our schools, like actual sex and drug parties, CRT, marxist indoctrination, revision of history and telling students that LGBTQXYZ and trans-genderism are perfectly normal. The great fiction writers don't actually do what they describe in their books - most of them.

That teacher is bringing their sexual perversion or child abuse (pedophile) fantasies to the classroom. They are creating a stimulation while grading papers in the hopes that the parents don't find out. A firing and arrest are in order here their quest is as criminal as exposing oneself to a child on a playground.

Sorry for a third post, but I think it's necessary. Our library has the Gary Paulsen book. I checked it out and read it. I has nothing like what was described in the link to a story in the article. It's a silly premise, but there is nothing denoting sex or even language issues.

In early August, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis took the fight against the COVID-19 Delta variant to the streets. He traveled the entire state, opening infusion centers so Floridians could receive monoclonal antibodies (MAs) as outpatients when they tested positive for the virus. The state’s surgeon general issued a blanket order that allowed patients to receive them without obtaining a physician’s order. Then DeSantis held dozens of press conferences using the slogan “Early Treatment Saves Lives” to raise awareness. Despite communications from the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) and an entire web page on accessing the treatment, many Americans remained in the dark. Most hadn’t heard of Regeneron,

Biden told Xi on Thursday during a 90-minute call that he wanted to have the meeting to achieve better relations, but Xi “did not take him up on the offer and instead insisted Washington adopt a less strident tone towards Beijing,” Financial Times reports. The White House did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

Watching the 20-year anniversary coverage of the 9-11 terrorist attacks brought back a day to remember! Just before I was beginning to speak on managing change to Verizon leaders in Niagara Falls, I was handed a note. It read simply, “A plane had just crashed into one of the Twin Towers.” The executive whispered to me, “We’re going to have to cancel. We are one of the principal carriers in New York City. We have to get our people back to the city.” By the time we had left the meeting room and entered the lobby, we saw the second plane fly into the second tower.

A Texas hospital system imposed "new restriction criteria" on the use of ivermectin, excluding the anti-parasitic agent from treatment of COVID-19. St. Luke's Health will only allow its infectious disease physicians to use the drug for preventive treatment of strongyloidiasis, a roundworm infection, according to a Sept. 2 directive shared with Just the News. Its wording suggests that non-infectious disease physicians had been considering or actually prescribing ivermectin for COVID patients. The relatively cheap treatment has been promoted by an eclectic group of influencers. Evolutionary biologist and former Evergreen State College professor Bret Weinstein has regularly touted ivermectin on his DarkHorse podcast, which led YouTube to demonetize his channel.
