Joe Manchin wasn’t playing around today. Just to make sure that Joe Biden understood him, he did interviews on ABC, NBC, and CNN to reiterate that he was holding to his “strategic pause” on Biden’s “Build Back Better” plan, the $3.5 trillion boondoggle. He’s indicated his intentions in the past , but he’s clearly trying to send a big message to Biden today. Manchin told CNN’s Dana Bash Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer would not have his support for the plan, and he would not be voting for it. He said they’ve already cut a lot of money out

Well, dang. Perhaps Manchin actually intends to stay on the right side of this issue and do the country a real favor. I hope so.

Don't believe it until you see the actual vote. Manchin likes to play the savior of common sense but in the end he rarely leaves that democrat plantation and his voting record says more than all those words that he likes to say in front of the viewers. His lies are legion and his votes are almost always with Schumer and Nancy.

From my perspective, the attempt of the left-wing of the Demo party to hold the "Infrastructure" bill hostage to the get the bigger spending bill passed is fine by me. I oppose passing either spending bill.

Biden is told what he wants by AOC and the other far left dingbats that think CO2 is poison. Obama bought green and orange highway signs with his $3 trillion, the 9,000 pages in the democrats' bill will be equally as wasteful and stupid. Manchin is just smart enough to realize that West Virginia's main sources of fossil fuel income will be one of the first victims of the GND so he's being stubborn for entirely selfish reasons.

I’m thinking he must have some alarming internal polling to be this steel spined because he’s been a total louse on every other vote I’ve seen him take. But this is so totally Manchin-ey, oppose, oppose, oppose. Until the actual vote. We will see.

Let's hope he sticks with this for once. Manchin, a Dem in a very Red state, is known for these pronouncements, gets a ton of publicity and some minute adjustment from the Dems and votes then with them. Consistently. Let's hope for once he means what he is saying, not just appeasing his voters.

A survey by the New York Federal Reserve released on Monday shows that American households expect the recent spike in inflation won’t go away anytime soon, despite the Biden administration’s continued insistence that the surge in consumer prices will be fleeting. The median expectation for the inflation rate over the next year increased to 5.2 percent in August, the New York Fed’s Survey of Consumer Expectations found. That level is the highest median expected inflation rate recorded since surveys began in 2013. Respondents also said they expected inflation to be up by 4 percent in three years. “Inflation uncertainty

Joe Biden went full authoritarian about COVID-19 vaccine mandates Thursday when he announced a federal mandate imposed upon businesses with more than 100 employees. There are some big union exceptions to the mandate – like postal workers – but for non-union workers across the country, if they don’t get vaccinated, they can lose their job. A lot of pieces of this new mandate are still missing, as Biden has a habit of announcing sweeping orders before all the details are written out on paper. When that happens, likely in a couple of weeks, nineteen governors have promised to fight the mandate.

Joe Biden is telling Democratic leaders in the House and Senate that he will lean on moderate Democrats in order to force passage of change to the Senate’s filibuster. He will also lobby hard to pass the voting rights bill that Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer says he wants to vote on this week. Biden and the Democrats want a “carve-out” for the electoral power grab known as the “For the People Act.” It would allegedly be a one-time exception to the filibuster and allow for a straight up-or-down vote on the bill, which Democrats mischaracterize as a “voting rights” bill.

Actress and #MeToo activist Rose McGowan officially endorsed Larry Elder for California governor on Sunday while alleging that Gavin Newsom’s wife tried to bribe her into staying silent about convicted rapist Harvey Weinstein. During her speech in Los Angeles on Sunday, McGowan detailed how the governor’s wife, Jennifer Siebel Newsom, called her up in 2017 on behalf of former Harvey Weinstein attorney David Boies to ask, “what it would take to make” her happy enough to keep quiet about Weinstein. The phone call allegedly took place six months prior to the New York Times launching its bombshell report against the disgraced movie producer and Democratic Party donor.

The marked decline in support for President Biden and his administration nationally and in key swing states indicates that the Democratic Party could endure a blowout defeat in the 2022 midterm elections. Moreover, President Biden is in a significantly weaker position now than both of his most recent Democratic predecessors — Bill Clinton and Barack Obama — at this point in their presidencies, which suggests that Democrats could suffer even more substantial losses in 2022 than the party did in 1994 and 2010. Indeed, voters nationally and in seven key swing-states disapprove, rather than approve, of the job President Biden is doing by a margin of 7-points or greater,

Sen. Joe Manchin (W.Va.), a key moderate Democrat, said on Sunday that he can't support President Biden’s $3.5 trillion spending plan. "We don't have the need to rush into this and get it done within one week because there's some deadline we're meeting or someone's going to fall through the cracks," Manchin said on NBC's "Meet the Press." "I want to make sure that children are getting taken care of, that people are basically having an opportunity to go back to work. We have 11 million jobs that we haven't filled, 8 million people still unemployed. Something's not matching up there."

Joe Biden attended the 9/11 memorial on the 20th anniversary of the attack at Ground Zero this morning with his wife, Jill, the Clintons, and the Obamas. This is a day of great remembrance, the marking of a horrible attack on American soil that took so many lives and led us into a war for 20 years to ferret out the terrorists behind it. A war that ended with Joe Biden creating a debacle — leaving Americans and Afghan allies behind, leaving behind a terrorist state that we are going to have to address at a later date. But there was a picture of his visit there that had everyone talking.

There’s a reason that the folks who plan Joe Biden’s days decided that he shouldn’t give any official remarks today as he visited the three 9/11 sites for remembrance ceremonies. I think they knew that if he opened his mouth and stuck his foot in it on such a solemn occasion, this time it would be before the world and it would be too hard for media to ignore. So as we reported earlier, they prerecorded some remarks for him where he spoke, gazing off into the distance, about “unity,” and looking like death warmed over. When it was announced that Joe Biden would not give a speech on 9/11, many were shocked and dismayed that the President of the United States apparently felt it unnecessary to commemorate the 20th anniversary of one of America’s greatest tragedies. Instead, former President George W. Bush spoke, as various current and former government officials gathered at the Flight 93 memorial. Of course, it’s not hard to imagine why he didn’t speak in person. The president has shown little ability to control his emotions lately, likely due to his sharp mental decline, and that’s led to several recent speeches in which he came across as angry and incoherent.

Saturday marks the twentieth anniversary of the 9/11 terror attacks. Joe Biden so desperately wanted to use the occasion to declare “Mission Accomplished” in Afghanistan and receive all the glory and credit for ending the twenty-year war. Biden ultimately completed his botched withdrawal from Afghanistan on August 30, but not without leaving an unknown number of American citizens behind. It was recently reported that Biden was planning to visit all three major 9/11 sites on the anniversary (Ground Zero in New York City, the Pentagon in Virginia, and Shanksville, Pennsylvania), but according to a report from CNN, Biden will not be making any public remarks.

I held off on writing about the “F*** Joe Biden” chants that began at college football games a couple of weeks ago. I had three reasons. First, I’m not a fan of obscenities because I think they cheapen speech. Second, these chants were initially small groups at Southern colleges, which really didn’t seem like a “thing.” Third, I wasn’t going to get excited until I learned whether the chants had legs. Well, it turns out they do have legs and they’re becoming large chants at multiple games (including New York baseball games). And most importantly, Joe Biden knows about them and isn’t happy.
