From coronavirus vaccines and the virus’ origin to climate change, a substantial portion of the country distrusts scientists to do their jobs honestly and capably. The latest data from the September Issues & Insights/TIPP Poll also found significant differences among Americans of different political views, reflecting a growing politicization of science in America. The I&I/TIPP poll asked Americans “how much trust do you place in scientists” in three areas of science prominent in today’s headlines: “vaccine safety,” “climate change,” and “coronavirus origin.” Overall, among the three, vaccine safety was tops

I'm so confused. Am I the greatest threat to the country because I drive a pickup or am I the greatest threat to the country because of my pocket constitution? We just learned that 26 of 27 scientists who signed the paper insisting that COVID could not have come from the lab have ties to the China and that very lab. Humans are flawed, we Christians call it original sin. The power to dictate over other humans will be abused. Lord Acton was 100% accurate. People in positions of power should not be trusted regardless of the title they hold and field they represent. The answer. limited power. Our direction, more power in the hands of the few over the many.

Scientists, like many people can be bought. When you look at Faucci and know there are many more like him, then skepticism is justified and necessary.

Scientists are easy to buy with grant money. Doctors are my biggest disappointment! They put themselves at risk financially, when they got into deep debt for their education. They put themselves at risk mentally, when they stopped thinking critically and blindly follow CDC directives.

Distrust of science is a good thing. “Science” once believed in, for example, miasmas and hemispherectomies. My junior high scimce text said it was impossible to exceed the speed of sound. Its a good thing that these were distrusted. “Science” once believed in malthusian predictions…those have proven to be false. Science poseurs make all forms of claims…eventually one may prove to right. While our societies progress on the complex interaction of economy, politics, technologies, beliefs, science plays just one role…and the history of science shows that scientific pronouncements are frequently wrong…so distrust/uncertainty is necessary.

Up to this point, scientists restrained themselves to playing politics between scientists. An argument among peers, that sometimes advanced knowledge, sometimes hindered it, but affected no one outside of academic circles. The Democrats, began wielding 'Expert Advice' like cudgels and took up whatever seemed most advantageous to their end game - their 'narrative'. Science, which had sprung from the inspiration of the Bible, to seek out God's Truth, and discover the Facts that created that Truth, transformed into lies and falsehoods, holding a kernel of truth with which to lure and distract the listener. But they were clumsy. Even untrained individuals could tell, after their predictions failed, that they had some other motivation than Fact and used Fiction where they should have provided documentation and research. They are not interested in 'Facts' anymore, but in providing cover for their Patrons' truths which resemble nothing more than mad ravings and selfish cravings. Under people like these, science is dead. And only the lies of those driven mad by power and privilege are presented as the new 'gospels'. And scientists are nothing more than jackals lurking at the heels of predatory politicians gleaning scraps from their offal.

I started reading the article and looking at the bar graphs. Something immediately looked wrong. After studying the graphs a few minutes I realized that I was trying to understand them through a traditional view where the positive axis increases to the right. These graphs were created by someone with a completely different worldview. Positive values were to the left and negative values were on the right. The author must be a devout leftist to get something so basic completely backwards!

The takeaway isn't that Republicans are distrustful of "scientists", but that democrats will believe anything that they are spoon fed. I used to trust scientists. Until I knew enough myself to question their findings, knew enough to know when someone is blowing smoke up my shorts, and finally saw that scientists are generally more concerned with cash grants, reputation, prestige. awards and party invitations than they are with the science.

The problem with scientists now, is that they no longer follow the scientific method. It used to be that a hypothesis was proposed and then data collected and that data would either prove or disprove that hypothesis. Now a hypothesis is proposed and data collected but the data collected is to prove the hypothesis and that which does not prove it is discarded. In other words, the outcome is predetermined. We've seen this repeatedly with so called global warming data. Democrats have even ruined science.

Facts, just the facts. That is all that the scientists should be concerned about. Unfortunately, too many now look for facts to fit their particular political agenda. Scientists are not even hiding this anymore. A scientist from the Center to Prevent Climate Change is 100 guaranteed to always present data to support climate change. Just once, I would like to see one Climate change scientist show data that does not support their agenda. If they did this, people might start to trust them again.

"Scientists" got on the political gravy train with the fraud of MMGW, then the follow-on fraud of "climate .change". Many of us out here in the real world have had substantial training in science and math and are not fooled by the political lies that they have been pumping. These "scientists" have been systematically destroying their credibility by lying to us for decades. At this point, if someone says "I'm a scientist, you need to believe me." my skepticism jumps way up. I figure this means he is getting ready to lie again. Covering up the huge death and injury rate from these never previously used mRNA "vaccines" has been a huge lie, and will be eventually known. This is rightly killing trust in docs and scientists. They lied and lots of people have died, and many more will yet die due to their lies.

CNN contributor Jill Filipovic must have a direct line to the PR shop inside the Biden White House. That would explain her desperate attempt a few days ago to blame Republicans for the worrisome economic signs we are seeing. Expect more of this sort of fact-free nonsense as the economy struggles in the weeks and months ahead. “The American economy is weakening,” Filipovic begins. She notes, correctly, that job gains in August were way below forecast and Goldman Sachs just downgraded its projection for GDP growth for the year. “And we know who is responsible.”

As soon as President Joe Biden announced his plan for a widespread vaccine mandate to fight COVID-19, protests erupted. And rightly so. But the real reason Biden chose now to announce it is so he could claim credit for what is already happening with COVID. In what is almost certainly a vast overreach of his executive authority, Biden declared that he’d develop “an emergency rule to require all employers with 100 or more employees, that together employ over 80 million workers, to ensure their workforces are fully vaccinated or show a negative test at least once a week.” Of course, this mandate will raise constitutional challenges.

Everything, that is, except rescuing Americans stuck in Talibanistan. In his eight short months in the White House, Biden has made the already empty phrase “whole of government” a nauseating cliché.

Despite zero evidence that human greenhouse gas emissions are harming Earth, the Democrats, cheered by the media, continue to enact energy policies they say are necessary for saving our world. But all they’re doing is increasing energy scarcity, which forces prices higher, and ignoring facts that don’t fit their narrative. America’s worst energy policy offender is California, where the ever-eager-to-mandate-and-forbid ruling class is outlawing automobiles that burn fossil fuels, halting electricity generation from conventional sources, and executing a war on gas stations.

Among the few things that Democrats and Republicans agree upon these days is that the rapid and chaotic departure of U.S. troops after a 20-year military occupation of Afghanistan was a disaster on many levels. A new I&I/TIPP Poll asks Americans the question: “Who, besides the Taliban, bears the most blame for the recent tragedy in Afghanistan?” The answer came back loud and clear: The largest share of voters, 40%, blame President Joe Biden. A smaller yet still significant share, 23%, blame Donald Trump. The other choices included Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin (2%), Secretary of State Anthony Blinken (2%), and the U.S. intelligence agencies (10%).

First, I’m not a fan of obscenities because I think they cheapen speech. Second, these chants were initially small groups at Southern colleges, which really didn’t seem like a “thing.” Third, I wasn’t going to get excited until I learned whether the chants had legs. Well, it turns out they do have legs and they’re becoming large chants at multiple games (including New York baseball games). And most importantly, Joe Biden knows about them and isn’t happy.
