President Joe Biden and his team of military, intelligence, and diplomatic advisors oversaw America’s most epic surrender, on the world stage, under the lights and cameras of international media recording it for posterity, spinning the news to mitigate American failure. (snip) the U.S. government has no idea how many Americans remain in Afghanistan. (snip) How many have made it back to America? Where are the interviews of returning Americans, telling their stories to Oprah or Ellen, or any of myriad cable news anchors and hosts? Where are the feel-good stories in People Magazine?

We are in the midst of a “Capricorn One” moment. Our filthy rotten government can’t afford to have any of these folks return and tell the truth. If any do make it out they will be well programmed democrat zombies singing the praises of creepy joe Biden.

My, my. Look how hard biden the cheater is trying to get his Afghanistan disaster out of the news cycle. So now we are down to wondering where some Americans are. But, biden could really care less. Besides, his clever pivot back to covid is on stage for now. Notice how there is complete silence from the msm about the tollybon's house to house killings of those Afghans who helped America.

Maybe, just maybe this "stranded Americans" meme is false. Maybe, just maybe, there were never "thousands and thousands" there. Afghanistan is like the Titanic sinking in that this story has fallen by the wayside - no more SOS signals being heard. And let's not confuse US residency with US citizenship. The holder of the green card continues to be a citizen of elsewhere, not the USA. While the retreat from Afghanistan is indeed a disaster, it is also fraught with much "viewpoint" reporting. These "stranded Americans" stories are one example. Americans trust government and all media at their own risk.

#7 has a good point. Why would there be “tens of thousands” of Americans in one of the world’s worst vacation spots? Other than the loony bins from CA who really did vacation there (suspicious of that one, too). One possibility is that they were contractors both citizens and green card holders and the lack of information is due to hiding the huge contractor and NGO presence there. It’s a standard OIF practice to substitute these folks for combat power. BTW, prior to the first withdrawal from Iraq, contractor camps in country numbered in the hundreds. This may have been the actin Afghanistan. Oh, and don’t forget to take their girlfriends/boyfriends, too.

I suspect the reason is that these "American citizens" are anchor babies birthed by Afghans here in US as immigrants (documented and otherwise) who had relocated back to The Old County while still collecting benefits

There were and are different classes of “Americans” in Afghanistan. First there were the American contractors, almost all native to the USA who were employed by the US Government doing all sorts of professional, technical, and security jobs. All those “Americans” left Afghanistan of their own accord weeks and months ago once they got the word that Biden intended to retreat and surrender to the Taliban. The other group of “Americans” a lot of who thought to be still in Afghanistan, are actually native Afghans who had immigrated to the USA sometime within the last twenty years, lived in the USA at least five years, and who applied to be granted naturalized US citizenship. Once granted naturalized US citizenship those “New Americans” were eligible to be issued US passports. Many of them then returned to Afghanistan where they have relatives and where their tribe is located. Just as most immigrants who are granted US citizenship these days, you can bet that most of the natives of Afghanistan, who may be there now, who are naturalized US citizens holding US passports, retained their original Afghan citizenship and still hold passports issued by the Government of Afghanistan. For all intents and purposes those people are considered to be duel citizens or nationals, and when they travel internationally use their Afghan passport when they come and go from Afghanistan, and use their US passport to enter and leave the USA which exempts them from the US immigration laws. In US Nationality law there are no provisions regarding duel citizenship or nationality But in the US nationality oath that all foreigners must take before they receive naturalized US citizenship there is a provision that those immigrants must give up their allegiance and citizenship to all foreign States, obviously that oath today is just a formality, and the provision against naturalized US citizens retaining foreign allegiances and citizenship is not enforced.

Is China the next superpower? Is the media's depiction of the country as a ten-foot giant really accurate? That's dubious. For all its bluster on the global stage, China is a giant in trouble. (snip) Perhaps the biggest problem in China is its erstwhile "one child" policy, which created many single, self-absorbed adults with poor social skills and an entitlement mindset that included no great desire to marry young and bear the financial burden of offspring. (snip) Another problem is income disparity, with a vast gulf of differences between a tiny urban elite and the country's many urban and rural poor.

One of the strangest things about the Afghanistan debacle is that in spite of extraordinarily harsh criticism world-wide, nobody has resigned and nobody has been fired. (snip) Second, Secretary of State Antony Blinken. (snip) Third, National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan. snip) It has been reported that Blinken and Sullivan had reservations about what the President was doing but didn’t press those reservations because they knew what the boss wanted.

And because I teach rhetoric, I’ve read thousands of their papers, providing substantial insight into the way they think. I held off on writing about the “F*** Joe Biden” chants that began at college football games a couple of weeks ago. I had three reasons. First, I’m not a fan of obscenities because I think they cheapen speech. Second, these chants were initially small groups at Southern colleges, which really didn’t seem like a “thing.” Third, I wasn’t going to get excited until I learned whether the chants had legs. Well, it turns out they do have legs and they’re becoming large chants at multiple games (including New York baseball games). And most importantly, Joe Biden knows about them and isn’t happy.

Biden’s vaccine mandate speech! 18 replies

Thursday, President Biden delivered the most insulting, contemptuous and divisive speech by a president in US history. (snip) What is he truly worried about? The unvaccinated! In his addled mind, it is the vax resistant who pose the greatest danger to mankind. That the vaccines are failing does not alter his mindset. In his speech Thursday, he falsely blamed the unvaxxed for “the pandemic of the unvaccinated.” Most of the new cases are among the fully vaccinated, both here and abroad. It is the vaccines that are creating the variants.

Last December, President-elect Biden promised no mask or vaccine mandates: [Twitter video] He broke that promise Thursday, in a speech demanding federal employees (except the 644,000 Postal Service employees – see below) receive the experimental gene therapy injections, and that government contractors and large employers require either vaccination or weekly testing for their employees. So, Biden may be seeking to claim a “victory” by taking credit for a decline that is already in the cards.

As the ravages of the COVID narrative continue to wreak damage, there remains a not insignificant swath of brave health care workers, from physicians to CNAs to administrative workers, who quietly but persistently question. Never before in human history has a global pandemic resulted in the dismemberment of first-world economies, highly divisive universal vaccine and mask mandates, education-stunting school shutdowns, and the isolation of entire societies to the point of extreme mental health damage. Throughout all this, the media have remained incurious as to how this historic misery happened. Anyone with a half a brain cell already knew that a new virus that started within a stone's throw of a biosafety level 4 laboratory in an authoritarian nation likely either leaked or was released from that laboratory. But acknowledging this obvious fact immediately led to expulsion from "polite" society, or at least from social media.

Perhaps, at long last, the deadly reign of Anthony Fauci will come to an end. That’s because The Intercept, a hard-left publication, has revealed 900 pages of government documents definitively proving that Fauci used his position to fund gain-of-function research into bat viruses at the Wuhan Institute of Virology (“WIV”)—and then lied to Congress about it. Since February 2020, the wizened Fauci has been the face of the government’s response to the pandemic. In the ensuing 20 months, Fauci was frequently wrong, incredibly arrogant, and deeply dishonest. Because he was the anti-Trump, though, we were stuck with him.

Many media and political figures expressed outrage online after former President George W.
