Biden faces crisis of confidence over Afghanistan

President Biden is facing a crisis of confidence in his ability to serve as commander in chief due to the overwhelming negative fallout he is receiving over the botched Afghanistan withdrawal, which left 13 U.S. service members dead and Americans and Afghan allies stranded. Former defense officials, military leaders and members of Congress on both sides of the aisle have criticized Biden for leaving Americans behind as the last U.S. C-17 plane took off from Kabul Monday night, despite the president's promise weeks ago that "If there are American citizens left, we're going to stay until we get them all out."Foreign policy experts are also warning that the international credibility

Feel like Sysyphus with the GOP as the stone. The verdict has been in with all to see regarding this pathetic president since day one. Our voices have been raised and our thoughts stated (this has been going on since the election of Obama) and the GOP continuously rolls over. It appears nothing is going to change and even Trump was unable to turn this ship around. We continue to go to the polls but the stone keeps rolling back onto us. Biden goes we get Harris. Three more years at this rate and there will be nothing left of what this country was or stood for. The lack of confidence is not just with this President but with the entire system.

Not seeing it. The Left still loves him. They'll keep echoing the spin all day long like its not insane. And the Right shouldn't be talking about Biden. They should be talking about a political party that is incapable of providing international security for the American people. Biden the Drooler is not shouting down opposition from his staff. They're the ones telling him what to do. This is not JUST a Biden problem.

Biden’s Afghanistan Speech Fails to

President Biden’s address to the nation concerning his surrender of Afghanistan to the Taliban was obviously a desperate attempt to convince the public that it wasn’t the disaster we watched in real time. The actual effect of his weirdly belligerent speech was to confirm his inability to grasp the military and foreign policy complexities associated with his role as Commander in Chief. This has sent his approval numbers into a nosedive from which it will be difficult to recover. A new Yahoo News/YouGov poll, for example, shows his approval rating at an all time low of 44 percent and that only a third of Americans believe he handled Afghanistan properly.

On Wednesday, the U.S. Supreme Court declined to intervene in a challenge to S.B. 8, Texas' new abortion law. This unique statute empowers private citizens to sue those who perform or facilitate abortions. President Biden ripped the 5-4 decision, charging that the conservative justices followed "procedural complexities" "rather than use its supreme authority to ensure justice."Biden is wrong. The Court has no sweeping, majestic power to "ensure justice." Indeed, it is a myth that courts can "strike down" laws at all. Rather, judges have a very limited power: to enjoin specific government officials from enforcing laws against specific litigants. The judiciary cannot simply erase statutes from the book.

Rooted at the very core of Texas’s Heartbeat Act is the concept of basic humanity, informed by science. This week the U.S. Supreme Court allowed this law, which protects unborn children from abortion after their beating heart can be detected, to go into effect. For the past half century, the pro-abortion Left has attempted to deceive the American people about the science, facts, and the law surrounding abortion. Its ability to reap political benefits from sowing confusion and fear gives activists incentive to stir the pot at every available opportunity. The case of Texas’s Heartbeat Act is no exception. Pro-abortion activists instinctively raised the alarm

Almost exactly 24 hours after the last cargo plane carrying Americans lumbered down the Kabul airport runway, President Biden started walking. He exited the Oval Office, passed through the Cross Hall of the White House, and entered the State Dining Room. He arrived with a full head of steam, and he was there to say that the war in Afghanistan, the longest war in American history, was over. In remarks that lasted roughly half an hour, Biden took “full responsibility for the decision” to end the war while, at the same time, pushing responsibility onto others for how it ended. He blamed former President Trump for signing an agreement with the Taliban

The withdrawal of the final U.S. troops from Afghanistan on Monday marks the end of the U.S. military's 20-year mission in Afghanistan. But for President Joe Biden, the end of the "forever war" is more of an inflection point than an actual conclusion. The departure of forces kicks off a new phase of the United States's entanglement in Afghanistan that could also prove perilous - and no less challenging for American leadership than the previous two decades.Biden and his team now have to grapple with deep skepticism over whether the Taliban, which now rules Afghanistan, will keep its promises for a peaceful transition.

Joe Concha has an op-ed over at The Hill this week where he seeks to answer a question that Karen Townsend asks here on a regular basis. Where’s Kamala? You still see the occasional video clip of her fending off reporters or being dispatched on some presumably important business to Central America or Asia, with the occasional, uncomfortable moment where she laughs at serious questions. But aside from that, we just don’t see much of her. Concha makes the argument that none of this is happening by accident.

When the Biden administration’s feckless management of the U.S. withdrawal from Afghanistan produced all too predictable chaos, the legacy media uncharacteristically reported on the debacle with remarkable candor. This was unsettling to a White House inured to obsequious coverage, and various administration officials have expressed frustration concerning the Fourth Estate’s unfavorable approach to the story. Inevitably, certain “journalists” echoed the complaint. New York Magazine’s Eric Levitz, for example, querulously insisted, “America’s withdrawal from Afghanistan has yet to cost our nation a single casualty.” The day after this was published, 13 Americans were murdered by Islamic State terrorists. In a New York Times column published on the day of this attack

For most Americans, Rep. Dan Crenshaw (R-Texas) was all but anonymous until he appeared on Saturday Night Live to accept the apology of a “comedian” who had mocked his eye patch. Crenshaw wears that patch in place of the eye he lost while serving in Iraq, but he didn’t respond to the SNL cheap shot with anger. His reaction to our president’s latest Afghanistan blunder was a different story. Upon learning of President Biden’s pathetic capitulation to the Taliban’s latest demand that all U.S. troops be withdrawn by August 31 even if some Americans and allies had to be left behind, Crenshaw responded as follows during a Politico Playbook interview:

The laughter was so off-kilter, it made you wonder if Joe Biden had taken leave of his senses during his mini-press conference Sunday. Americans are trapped behind enemy lines in Afghanistan. Our troops at Kabul airport are faced with an uncontrollable surge of people so desperate to escape, they are dying in the crush. America has suffered its worst self-inflicted humiliation and the free world is less safe — all because of his dumb decisions. And he laughs? A cold, inappropriate laugh, muscle memory deployed as a political weapon by a man operating on empty.

Americans are furious, and rightly so. Our country has been humiliated as never before, with our military humbled by an illiterate and rag-tag army of Taliban fanatics. Our allies are stunned by the incompetence of our chaotic retreat from Afghanistan – dubbed "imbecilic" by former U.K. Prime Minister Tony Blair - and horrified by the humanitarian disaster now taking place. Meanwhile, our barely conscious President Joe Biden has lied about the disappearance of al Qaeda from Afghanistan, the supportiveness of our allies and about Americans being able to access the Kabul airport. Worse, he is defending the indefensible. How can anybody defend abandoning the strategically critical Bagram Airfield

At this time last year, the Wuhan coronavirus was claiming around 1,000 American lives per day. It seemed to me that, absent a sudden and sharp decline in that number, Joe Biden would be our next president. It must have seemed that way to Biden and his top advisers, as well. During presidential debates that occurred a little less than a year ago, Biden ripped Trump for his handling of the pandemic. The death count was the centerpiece of this attack. So what’s the daily death count now, more than seven months into the Biden administration and with a majority of Americans vaccinated?

What's with the bizarre campaign against Ivermectin? It's not just that the FDA has put out a quackish tweet (shown here by AT contributor Dr. Brian Joondeph, M.D.) scolding viewers that they are not horses or cows. That's in reference to the fact that in some high-dose forms, ivermectin is used as a horse dewormer, begging the question about its effectiveness when it is dosed and formulated properly as a human medical treatment for COVID, prescribed off-label. The news reports repeatedly call ivermectin a dangerous drug, implying that all uses of the drug are dangerous, even when taken properly.

Occasionally, I receive nasty notes. My favorite are the hurry-up-and-die notes from lefties who hate white people. It is no secret that leftists believe they will be in power forever once white people no longer are a majority(snip) Which brings us to Professor Derek Hook. Emma Colton reported, "A professor employed at a Catholic university in Pennsylvania [Duquesne] said on camera that there are merits to the claim that it’s ethical for White people to commit suicide." Any college that would employ and continue to employ a professor who promotes suicide is not Catholic. Hook quoted a South African philosophy professor, Terblanche Delport, who said, "White people should commit suicide as an ethical act."
