An Afghan refugee who reportedly left “his family behind” in the now-Taliban-controlled nation of Afghanistan triggered a whirlwind of angry backlash on Twitter last Thursday after he posted a tweet that some perceived as ungrateful. The still-up tweet contains a photo of the meal he’d been served free of charge at Fort Bliss in El Paso, Texas. What provoked anger was its caption.“Not complaining but this is what I got last night for dinner and the next meal is 12 hours later. Refugee life might be safe but never easy & favorable. Fort bliss El Paso Texas. #AfghanRefugees #afghanistan,” the caption reads.Look: (Tweet/Photo)

I'm sure one of the SIV Visa holders would be happy to change places. You don't exactly look like you did anything to deserve to be evacuated! And you certainly didn't do anything to justify the sacrifice of 13 servicemen and women on the altar of freedom!

My religious tradition is that we skip two meals at the first Sunday of each month and offer the equivalent cost to a fund for the poor. Additionally, we donated extra today for humanitarian relief. That may include Afghanistan refugees, hurricane or flood victims or any number of hungry souls. I calculated the cost of two meals as the amount it would take to pay for my wife and I, and our four married children to a dinner out. Then, so we don’t scrimp, we multiply that by two. I certainly hope those who receive assistance understand that others go without in order to provide that assistance. Frankly, we drive older cars that could be replaced if we stopped this monthly offering. There are a lot of needs. I’m not complaining about helping where I can, and hope that it will help some grateful soul. Assistance is given to take the edge off hunger, not fatten anybody up.

These refugees we keep seeing pictures of all appear to be young, healthy men. To muzzies, it's women and children be damned, I'm outta here. And since islam is not compatible with any other form of government/society, why are they not evacuated to surrounding muzzie countries? Why do we always have to bring these ungrateful POS here?

As we have all learned from Joe Biden's presidency, the phoniest/baloney-est claim from liberals is that they have a deep desire for national unity. There is no unity in compromise, only in surrender to the Left. At the end of Sunday's Reliable Sources, fill-in host John Avlon interviewed the PBS gasbag Ken Burns, asking him about national unity, and he's as phony as Biden. This is CNN, so Avlon demands unity in exaggerating the January 6 riot: (Video) AVLON: You've made the point in terms of the quest for unity, that at the end of the day, Americans usually can rally together when something catastrophic has occurred.

Sixty-five on-duty members of the FDNY lost their first-responder fathers in the Sept. 11 terror attacks, or watched them die of diseases caused by toxic smoke and debris at Ground Zero. These young Bravest — including three women — decided to honor their fathers’ courage and sacrifice by following in their paths.“Knowing what happened that day, it just shows their bravery and willingness to face those challenges,” FDNY Commissioner Daniel Nigro said of these legacies — the sons and daughters of firefighters and officers killed in the line of duty. At this time last year, the Wuhan coronavirus was claiming around 1,000 American lives per day. It seemed to me that, absent a sudden and sharp decline in that number, Joe Biden would be our next president. It must have seemed that way to Biden and his top advisers, as well. During presidential debates that occurred a little less than a year ago, Biden ripped Trump for his handling of the pandemic. The death count was the centerpiece of this attack. What's with the bizarre campaign against Ivermectin? It's not just that the FDA has put out a quackish tweet (shown here by AT contributor Dr. Brian Joondeph, M.D.) scolding viewers that they are not horses or cows. That's in reference to the fact that in some high-dose forms, ivermectin is used as a horse dewormer, begging the question about its effectiveness when it is dosed and formulated properly as a human medical treatment for COVID, prescribed off-label. The news reports repeatedly call ivermectin a dangerous drug, implying that all uses of the drug are dangerous, even when taken properly.

Sometimes it is difficult to know whether or not Joe Biden is senile or just dumb. I know it’s tempting to ascribe everything he does to his dementia, but he’s been stupid for his whole life. Even people suffering from dementia have moments of lucidity, so it’s really impossible to know what is the true motivation behind the President’s asininity. The effects and the facts of it, however, are easy and important to dissect, because whether it’s due to him losing his grip on reality, that he’s just a very simple and dumb man, or a combination of both doesn’t really matter, what matters is the end result.

Daily coronavirus infections are more than four times what the U.S. was seeing on Labor Day last year, or a 316% increase, according to data from Johns Hopkins University. And daily deaths are almost twice as high. Blame the highly contagious delta variant and a swath of Americans refusing easily accessible vaccines that most of the developing world is furiously scrambling to obtain. Even as workers have been more industrious — helping drive corporate profits, the stock market and CEO compensation to record heights — their pay has flatlined, or even declined when factoring
