Romney: US potentially leaving Americans
and Afghan allies in Afghanistan
after withdrawal 'a moral stain'

Washington -Republican Sen. Mitt Romney said Sunday that if American citizens and Afghan allies are left in Afghanistan following the planned withdrawal of US troops there this week that would represent "a moral stain" on the US. "Leaving Americans behind and leaving our Afghan friends behind who've worked with us would put upon us and will put upon us a moral stain," the Utah Republican told CNN's Jake Tapper on "State of the Union" when asked if US troops should remain in the country following Tuesday's withdrawal deadline to ensure that all US citizens, legal permanent residents and Afghan allies are evacuated.

Remarkable; the human stain Pierrre Delecto finds a way to blame Donald Trump, a better man than he could ever pretend to be. Thanks, Utah. FTA: "This did not have to happen. It was preventable," added Romney. "We didn't have to be in this rush-rush circumstance with terrorists breathing down our neck. But it's really the responsibility of the prior administration and this administration that has caused this crisis to be upon us."

It’s mourning, rather than morning, in America, if a new poll from the Morning Consult organization is accurate that the country is perceived as headed in the wrong direction. In a lengthy national tracking survey co-sponsored with the generally liberal Politico website, almost two-thirds of Americans indicated that things in the U.S. have “pretty seriously gotten off on the wrong track.” The same number, 61 percent, disapprove of President Joe Biden’s handling of the Afghanistan crisis. And 49 percent disapprove of Biden’s overall job performance, while 47 percent approve, which The Hill noted is a “record low.”

The fall of Kabul is not the end, as Joe Biden seems to think, of the Afghanistan nightmare. It is the beginning of a never-ending bad dream. Biden and the Pentagon have managed to birth a new terrorist haven, destroy much of U.S. strategic deterrence, and alienate our allies and much of the country. In the hours after the horrific deaths of 13 servicemen, we have been reassured by our military that our partnership with the Taliban to provide security for our flights was wise. We were told that the terrorist victors share similar goals to ours in a hasty American retreat from Kabul. We were reminded that Afghan refugees

At a State Department press briefing on Wednesday, spokesman Ned Price said nearly 24,000 “Afghans at risk” had been evacuated from Afghanistan and brought to the U.S. from August 17 to August 31.
