Joe Biden, emulating trendsetting blue state governors like California’s Gavin Newsom and New York’s Andrew Cuomo, recently has declared that by 2030, new car sales must be 50 percent zero-emission electric vehicles. The problem with this decree is that it violates the proverbial rule against the government picking winners and losers. It’s one thing for the government to subsidize energy research, or, for that matter, any pure research. Libertarian purists might object to that, but sometimes these public-private research partnerships can accelerate innovation and help keep American manufacturers competitive. It’s quite another thing, however, for the government to restrict what sort of technology powers our vehicles,

Hope you don't have to travel far. They will restrict travel, and say they have to do it to save the planet. We will be no different than any other third world Communist Marxist dictatorship. What happens to the price of gasoline when cars use less? The price of gasoline will go up. Gasoline will be more expensive than ever. What happens when millions of cars are attached to the electric grid? Rolling blackouts anyone? If you thought the looting was bad, wait until all the power goes out. Inflation will be insane. They are spending money they do not have. They have thought this out. What better way to show they are over us by still having their houses lit, having any amenity they want, and being able to travel while the rest of the country will be struggling just to stay alive.

Enumerating the negative aspects of electric cars or proving that masks are Kabuki, is a fool's erand. These things aren't scientific in any way: they are a means to allow Party Goers in Martha's Vineyard and elsewhere full dictatorial power over our lives by limiting our travel and well being. Welcome back to the 16th century.

It's about control. In the 1920s and into the 1930s Americans were given the technological gift of real freedom to hop in their personally owned vehicle and strike out in any chosen direction, stopping and staying anywhere that they chose for as long as they chose. This freedom of movement without government control offends the totalitarian Communist control freaks, and they want it STOPPED. No more freedom for 'the deplorables'. The infrastructure bill the Senate passed Tuesday discriminates against white people at every turn.Americans are enthusiastic about spending money on physical infrastructure — bridges, roads, broadband. But this racist bill hands out jobs and contracts and locates projects based on race, not merit. Minority businesses and neighborhoods hold the inside track. If you’re white, you’re low priority. The bill includes grants to install solar or wind technologies and generate jobs in areas decimated by closing coal mines or coal-fired electric plants. Here’s the catch: When contractors bid, the bill says minority-owned businesses will get selected first.
