Slippery Slope of the New CDC Eviction Order

As we previously reported, Joe Biden announced that the CDC would be coming down with a new temporary eviction moratorium order. What was so stunning about Biden’s remarks is that he indicated he knew it was likely to not pass constitutional muster, his own advisors had said the day before that they didn’t have the legal authority, that they had “quadruple-checked it.” Yet he decided to do it anyway, caving under pressure from the progressives. But, in the process, he also said the quiet part out loud — that they were going to do it anyway even if it was unconstitutional because it would take time

To say Kavanaugh is a disappointment would be an understatement. Maybe he's trying to curry favor with the regressive democRATs? Don't he know they hate him no matter what he does?

Ah, they'll do it anyway, which sounds like the whole DACA fiasco created by the Obama administration. What they are hoping to do, IMHO, is to create a whole "class" of people who need their help, and when it's given will feel obligated to vote for them.

#1, why? Kavanaugh is on record saying he would not vote to uphold a CDC moratorium on evictions. That, with the 4 dissenters, is a majority. Do you think it would have been different if the Court had ended the moratorium earlier? The Democrats don't care what the Court says, obviously.

The Article's author and almost all persons commenting under the Article are putting the blame on justice Brett Kavanaugh. I believe this is unfair criticism. Biden admitted that the CDC did not have the authority to mandate any eviction moratorium, which of course includes an extension without authorization from Congress. The Supreme Court's ruling all but held the moratorium is unconstitutional. I fail to understand how justice Kavanaugh is responsible for the CDC extending an unconstitutional extension of the eviction moratorium.

Kavanaugh = Kandyass After what the commies did to him and his family - - you'd think he'd be out to get them on every case. But fighting back is not the kandyass way. He's too morally weak to do that.

The Supreme Court. now needs to hold the president and the CDC in contempt, and order the immediate arrest of anyone blocking a legal eviction.

Maybe landlords need to shut off water, gas, electric, and most important, cable TV, to the non-paying renters. That's one way to get them to flee.

You and I are now out of step with the Democrat concept of consitutional democracy. Not only was our Constitution written by white supremacists, it's outlived its usefulness and no longer applies. Examples: DACA, immigration laws and border security, the concept of equality (replaced by equity), freedom of speech (government now cedes authority to Facebook), the second amendment, and now the transfer of executive authority to a health agency. Also, watch out! It's okay now for the FBI and the NSA to read your emails.

Instead of immediately striking the moratorium Kavanaugh tried to thread the needle and find common ground with common sense. As usual, the socialist moved the goalposts. That said, Kavanaugh of all people, considering the debacle of his confirmation hearing, should have known better than expect reason from the left.

Three CNN employees were fired for going to a company office without being vaccinated, the media firm’s CEO said a memo that was leaked Thursday. In an email to staffers about returning to work in person, Jeff Zucker warned that the company has a “zero-tolerance policy” about allowing people back who haven’t gotten the life-saving shots, according to Deadline. “Thus far, we have left proof of vaccination to an honor system. While we have asked for attestation to your status via Passcard, it has not been mandatory to produce a vaccine card,” Zucker wrote.

Although Vice President Kamala Harris refuses to acknowledge it, we indeed have a humanitarian and criminal crisis along our southern border. Since the Biden administration hastily reversed Trump-era policies that had dramatically slowed the pace of illegal immigration, cartels have been working overtime to recoup the human smuggling income they lost during the Trump years. According to US Border Patrol sources, the going rate to be smuggled over the border is $10,000 a person, and there’s no guarantee that the smuggled will arrive healthily or even arrive at all. Such was the case Wednesday morning when a van carrying 30 people (yes, you read that correctly) crashed

Shontel Brown’s surprising win in the Ohio special election yesterday is still reverberating around Washington today. This evening the NY Times published a story headlined “In String of Wins, ‘Biden Democrats’ See a Reality Check for the Left.” The story includes pretty strong statements from Rep. Hakeem Jeffries, the chair of the House Democratic Caucus. He sees the message of the Ohio race, combined with Eric Adams win in New York City, as a pretty clear signal that Democrats aren’t looking to expand the Squad. Representative Hakeem Jeffries of New York, a top member of House leadership, said in an interview Wednesday that Democratic voters were clearly rejecting

During a press briefing Wednesday, White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki brushed off concerns about the constitutionality of the Biden administration’s decision to extend the existing eviction moratorium without congressional approval. President Biden announced Tuesday that the CDC would extend the eviction moratorium in the areas of the country that have been hardest hit by the resurgence of COVID-19. After making announcement, Biden conceded that “the bulk of the constitutional scholars say it’s not likely to pass constitutional muster.” When a reporter suggested that many Americans are concerned about Biden’s willingness to pursue a constitutionally dubious course of action, Psaki pushed back, suggesting that the reporter was citing non-existent critics.

Geneva — The head of the World Health Organization is calling for a moratorium on administering booster shots of COVID-19 vaccines as a way to help ensure that doses are available in countries where few people have received their first shots. WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus made the appeal mostly to wealthier countries that have far outpaced the developing world in numbers of vaccinations. WHO officials say the science is unproven about whether giving booster shots to people who have already received two vaccine doses is effective in preventing the spread of the coronavirus.

The Washington Post reports that Joe Biden, bowing to pressure from the left, will extend the moratorium on evictions, after all.
