The Biden administration announced a temporary ban on evictions across most of the country on Tuesday, a move that bent to intense pressure from liberal House Democrats but that President Biden acknowledged may not prove constitutional.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention issued a moratorium on evictions for 60 days for U.S. counties with “substantial and high levels of community transmission” of the coronavirus, according to an agency news release. About 90 percent of the country will be covered by the ban as the virus’s delta variant spreads quickly throughout the country, Senate Majority Leader Charles E. Schumer (D-N.Y.) said in a statement.
Also note - Chucky gives away the game here when he says that 90% of the country will be covered as Delta spreads across the country. They are rooting for the COVID to sweep through America and they plan to put their thumbs on the scale of testing in order to do it.

What possible legal basis exists for this? Agencies, not even the President, issuing orders that infringe rights under the Contracts Clause, and in areas of law traditionally left to the states. If anyone knows of the authority under which they are claiming to have this power, please enlighten me. Serious request. I'd like to know, and I'm retired. I no longer have access to electronic research and I'm too lazy to go to the law library.

I don't read fish wrap, and since I don't watch the alphabet news, how can I know if my state can evict or now?

Absolutely illegal. This has been all the way to the Supreme Court, and found unconstitutional.
This probably isn't going to fly.

The Supreme Court already said NO! Biden himself said he couldn't legally block evictions. Where does the CDC get the power to do this? Are they going to collect a non-vaccination tax next? The Supreme Court made it clear that only Congress could implement the eviction ban. They are too cowardly to do so . Eviction bans, like DACA are unpopular, but Democrats are afraid to put their names on a vote against them.

SURE, dont evict people just because they dont pay their rent, them mortgage holders dont need that money to pay their mortgage with, we all know that! AND after they dont pay their mortgage, dont let the loan companies foreclose on the property, we all know that they dont need their payments to stay afloat.
And give everything FREE to everyone, just like CUBA!! NO ONE will have to work!! Wont that be great?
But wait!! IF no one is working, where is all the free stuff gonna come from? What is gonna happen when we have eaten up that last sack of flour? No one is working anymore which means nothing is being produced anymore.

Lawlessness. There used to be a time when individuals actually believed in the rule of law. No more. That apparently is now antiquated thinking. Democrats are free to make it up as they go along. This China virus has certainly paid great dividends for the democrat party. It has allowed them to seize power to an unheard of degree. You’d think this was cooked up in some back room by the CCP and democrat party in order to defeat President Trump and allow this heinous collusion to destroy this country. It just seems to be a crisis like no other that was created for such time like this. China would jump at the chance to defeat President Trump and democrats could not resist the opportunity to use this in order to demand mail in voting and commit every other election fraud they had ready. Who would not label this perfidy as treason? Democrats with the help of the Chinese government committed a bloodless coup d’etat that put Biden in office and made China the number one superpower. It was a win-win for these traitors.

So this is how it works now. You don't own that real estate that you bought. Anybody can put your address on their driver's license and move in. The FEDERAL government says you can't evict them. This is not Socialism, it's Communism.

And Janet Yellen KNOWS that if she releases the Millions of Dollars,to those who are enjoying the free housing, they will NOT use the money to pay the Back Rent! They will take it and Run. They know they are going to be thrown out, and soon, so they will use it to rent a new place, buy a car, get some Fake Nails put on and a new Style on their Hair! They know how to work the System. They've been doing it all their life!!

What authority does the "Biden Administration" have to do this? This is a matter for Congress, maybe, but even they don't typically have authority over purely state and local matters like renters' laws. This is another case where the Supreme Court punted and now it will be back in the courts for who knows how long.

Landlords should just turn off the water and electricity and abandon their properties. How can they possibly survive without income? They are going to lose the property anyway, might as well make it unliveable.

Biden's decision-makers know this is unconstitutional. But they're extending the eviction ban only until October. It will take longer than that to mount a lawsuit that gets to any federal court willing to take action. The courts will simply decide that the matter is moot because the October deadline is already upon them or has passed.
For decades, the dims have initiated lawsuits that they know have no hope of succeeding. They're just buying time and issuing news releases--propaganda--to fool the citizenry. Then when push comes to shove in the form of preliminary hearings or motions for summary judgment, they voluntarily dismiss their lawsuits or accept the verdicts of the courts that their suits or their actions are unconstitutional, and lie in wait to re-use this tactic as needed.

They will take away your rights.
In this case our government has taken away the right of private property. If you cannot evict a deadbeat tenant from your property, you no longer own that property.
Communism has indeed come to America. One cannot use private property to make money. For now many tenants continue to pay rent, but expect that to change soon.
If a tenant doesn't pay rent, why should the landlord maintain the place? Why pay the mortgage? Why pay the taxes? Let the bank or the city take the property. Give it to them. Let the property become their headache.

When an organized group of leftists sets out to impose Communism on a free society, it must be fought, not griped about and debated. Once communism begins its march, a population that twists themselves into pretzels trying to avoid the heavy lifting required to repel it, while awaiting a political savior to make things right will either become communists or die. Lost your president and your vote, and are awaiting the loss of your private property to the citizenship equivalent of "squatters?" The answer is not, "Let's start a new party."

Mob justice rules once again. The Squat protests, and Xiden caves. Might as well disband SCOTUS, because the commies are now openly defying the highest court in the land. The squatters cannot be removed under penalty of prison in the order. Let that sink in. CDC is now assessing CRIMINAL penalties for defiance to their edicts.
