Kristi Noem Faces Backlash
From Conservatives Over Tweet
About Employer Vaccine Mandates

South Dakota Republican Governor Kristi Noem faced backlash over the weekend after she essentially told residents of her state that if they did not want to be mandated by their employer to take a vaccine, they could find another job in the state. “Workers whose employers are mandating a vaccine for continued employment have the power to say no,” Noem wrote on Twitter. “Our robust economy and job market gives them the option to find a new employer that values personal choice and responsibility, and doesn’t force mandates on their employees.”

I guess I don't see what was wrong with what she said. I am a conservative, and I believe in free market capitalism. As such, an employer should have the right and power to do what they believe is best for their company (even something as stupid as requiring all employees to take a dangerous and experimental vaccine that apparently doesn't do anything positive). And as an employee of that company, if I disagree, I have the right to say "no thanks" and go find another job. In fact, I have done that in my life. The less the government is involved in business, the stronger our economy is!!!

Is a company going to waive the "waiver" if someone falls ill? Will the company pay all of the medical costs if someone is hospitalized because of the vaccine they mandated?

Another Republican succumbs to fear. They are dropping like flies. Better know who they are now and plan on getting rid of them as soon as possible or suffer later. How about mandating you don't have to take an experimental drug unless you want to take an experimental drug, ok.

Really thought she was the real deal, but in fact just another RINO puke. Bye Kristi - you turned out to be another Nimrata. #4 - Vaccine mandates are not legal. Would you be OK with your employer mandating that you belong to certain organizations? Drive a certain vehicle? Be of a certain faith? If you accept it for this, you have to accept whatever other whim your employer cooks up, too. Pretty soon, they might find one that you find personally odious.

I don't think she should be invited back to CPAC. Gov of SD is as high as she will ever go. As for those that say just find another job, that cannot happen with professional medical people, teachers, and other professionals. The other jobs have the same mandates. Maybe Kristi should get another job. Maybe Biden should get another job.

If she wanted to level the playing field, she'd push for legislation to insure that employees who are mandated to take the shot are entitled to compensation for any side effects in perpetuity in the same way that people are collecting for asbestos, breast implants, Roundup and baby powder. That would dampen some employer's enthusiasm for mandates.

Sounds just like a new minister brought into my old church..he wanted to 'modernize' the services and about 1/2 the members were what I call 'old church people'...we expected decorum from our minister, and he showed up on Sunday with a golf club in shorts and preppie shirt and did away with the old hyms...bottom line, he told all us long time members if we didn't like it, leave...so we did...he eventually moved the church out of the neighborhood to new digs...hope he's happy...

I'm not sure what the controversy is about. A private employer has the right to establish its own conditions of employment, doesn't it? And the option to stay or leave that job has always existed. So what exactly is the problem?

Employers and their companies cannot do whatever they think is best for their company. They cannot refuse to hire certain people, They cannot refuse to follow EPA regulations, etc. no matter how much better for their company. And they certainly cannot refuse to bake a cake which goes against their personal religious faith.

In the 1980s we went to Mt Rushmore for the 4th of July. Local politicians gave some rousing patriotic speeches, and the US Marine Band played a concert of patriotic songs on a beautiful blue sky day under those magnificent sculptures. It was a grand way to spend the Fourth. That memory makes me especially unhappy that the governor was unwilling to fight the idiots in DC on the fireworks. She should have just launched them anyway, ignored the anti-American pukes in DC.
