Golfers Bryson DeChambeau and Jon Rahm are out of the Tokyo 2020 Olympics after testing positive for Covid-19. American DeChambeau had not yet travelled to Japan, where he was set to make his Olympic debut. Spain's world number one Rahm has tested positive for the second time in as many months. He had to withdraw from the USPGA Memorial Tournament in Ohio in June after returning a positive sample, before going on to win the US Open. Both Rahm and DeChambeau played at The Open at Royal St George's in Kent last week. "I am deeply disappointed not to be

Rahm should get a medal for testing positive the most without ever actually being sick.

Frankly, it's laughable turning the Olympics into a freebie PGA event. Avery Brundage would be thrilled!

Covid tests are set way too sensitive. Test results which are positive in the absence of symptoms are highly suspect and even if accurate denote an amount of disease that is of no real risk to others. Asymptomatic people don't spread this bug.

#3 is correct. The man who invented the test doesn't think it should be used this way. Implicit in the inaccuracy of the test, Rahm tested positive, then negative, and now positive again,. without getting sick. This is absurd. especially when they are playing an outdoor game, and can play the entire 18 holes without getting close to each other. (I enjoyed playing golf for precisely that reason.).

I have read the procedure for COVID-19 RT-PCR testing. The accuracy is dependent upon the amount of DNA replicated which takes time. The lower the amount of DNA replicated results in the need for more fluorescent testing cycles (Ct) to reach a point at which reliable results can be obtained. The more cycles the higher the chances for a positive test resulting from many factors such as dead strands. The fluorescence testing takes shorter time than the replication. Bottom line is there is likely a large percentage of errors just due to the large amount of testing of the general population. Ergo more asymptomatic positives. but Professional golfers likely get more accurate testing

WASHINGTON — President Joe Biden announced Monday that serious long-term Covid-19 cases could qualify as a disability, making federal protections and resources available to those suffering from the disease. Speaking at an event at the White House celebrating the 31st anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act, he said that lingering Covid symptoms, such as fatigue or brain fog, "can sometimes rise to the level of a disability." "We're bringing agencies together to make sure Americans with long Covid who have a disability have access to the rights and resources that are due under the disability law, which includes accommodations and

Although the pandemic disrupted family life across the U.S. since taking hold in spring 2020, some parents are grateful for one consequence: They're now opting to homeschool their children, even as schools plan to resume in-person classes. The specific reasons vary widely. Some families who spoke with The Associated Press have children with special educational needs; others seek a faith-based curriculum or say their local schools are flawed. The common denominator: They tried homeschooling on what they thought was a temporary basis and found it beneficial to their children. “That’s one of the silver linings of the pandemic – I
