Senators Grassley and Johnson want to know, among things, what the Justice Department has done to recover missing phones and whether phones were reviewed for evidence of leaks. Republican Sens. Ron Johnson of Wisconsin and Chuck Grassley of Iowa sent a letter to the Justice Department Wednesday asking for more information regarding missing phones used by Special Counsel Robert Mueller's team during the Russian collusion investigation. The senators sent the letter after finding out the Justice Department "could not locate 59 of the 96 phones used by Special Counsel Robert Mueller's team," according to Grassley's website.

Senators Grasseley and Johnson are the two most honest Senators we have, fighting the endless fight against the Deep State. It is insurmountable but they try.

It would have been more useful had these senators grilled Mueller and his goon squad when Republicans were in charge. Schumer and Pelosi run circles around McConnell and McCarthy and will continue to do so even if the House and Senate flip in 2022.
Lindsey Graham continues to haunt Fox News even though he accomplished nothing when he was in charge of the Justice Committee. It’s long overdue to replace the Republican “leadership” with Republicans who learned how to govern from President Trump’s example.

Dear Elected Representatives of the American People:
We have received your latest official request, and as stated previously; eat crap & die - we don't recognize your authority, and are protected by the rules of DeepState Inc.
But thanks for playing!
Signed,
Your DOinJ
The DOinJ cretins are laughing at the GOP.

The republicans were asleep while Wasermann, Mueller & 18 prosecutors went after Trump, his associates & family without cause. They must be kidding ...after all they got nothing from Sessions & Barr what makes them think they will get anything form Garland??

Can they just go to the phone service supplier and find out which ones are still in service. Or they probably don't know the phone numbers. Honestly, the republicans are always a day late and a dollar short in everything! I'm glad someone finally thought of this, but geezloueez! Too bad they are the laughing stock of the world.

Poster 3, as a preface, I am disappointed with GOP leadership however, Poster 1 makes good points. The fight against the deep state is “insurmountable.” So is the fight with the corrupt media. Grassley and Johnson are trying. They deserve credit for that. If the GOP captures the House and Senate in 2022, Republican voters will demand a game of extreme hardball from GOP majorities. If Republican office holders play nice, I’m done with the Party. I think millions of other GOP voters feel the same.

Senators Grassley and Johnson demands go nowhere. This is not fighting against Deep State. Until they demand the heads of those responsible for the phones, quit protecting Mueller whom they NEVER personally criticize or ever hold accountable, then its all more hot air.

Into the grinder.
Obstruction of justice.
But, nothing will be done. Official criminal action is always ignored - unless it is done by a Republican, and then it is triple punished, by the criminals in the FBI.

The FBI, DOJ, NSA and God knows what other government agencies have the ability to locate anything and anyone any time they want, unless it's something that might implicate them in some illegal activity. Not that they would held accountable even if it were illegal.

Grassley and Johnson make it LOOK like they're doing something. They've been at the Gov't trough too long NOT to know how the game is played and partake of it or The Turtle would have supported primary-ing them out of office.
Their letter will go nowhere, stir up the base, and generate fodder to justify requesting donations...
This was reported and NOTHING happened.
Records Show Weissmann Special Counsel Team Erased 15 Phones After IG Requested Review…
September 10, 2020 | Sundance
Newly released records from a FOIA show the Weissmann/Mueller special counsel team “accidentally” wiped 15 iPhones of data early in 2018 after the phones were requested by the office of inspector general for review.
Mueller’s lead investigator Andrew Weissmann accidentally wiped two phones himself; through a lengthy process of entering the wrong passcode several times over a period of three hours; removing data to show his activity during the special counsel. Weissmann claimed to have entered the wrong password (takes ten attempts) and that erased all the data. Greg Andre, a former deputy assistant attorney general in the Justice Department’s criminal division, made the same claim.

Anyone heard from Mueller lately? Is he down at the memory care facility? That he has disappeared indicates that he was NOT up to the task and I suspect that Comey, Weissman, et al cabal, knew it when they pushed him as special prosecutor. They got to hide behind his reputation and run free with their dirty works.

I don't understand how 59 of 96 phones can just go "missing." They are government property, which means it should already be under investigation.
Are we to believe the US government has no system for keeping track of which government employees are assigned which phones? That seems like a very basic responsibility. While our Senators are trying to get to the bottom of their "disappearance" where are America's investigative reporters? Where is 60 Minutes? Are we to believe there's no way of figuring out who last had custody of those phones? I don't understand how that could have happened, and I don't understand why our elected Senators have to "ask" DOJ bureaucrats for information about phones that it was responsible for keeping track of.

Yes, #1, you are correct...Grassley and Johnson certainly bluster loudly. However, they are still Low-T Republicans, because have delivering "harsh words" they slap Dems on the back and all head to the Capital Grille for a lovely lunch of French onion soup...Swamp Dwellers all.
