Traditionalist and conservative America once was the U.S. military’s greatest defender. Bipartisan conservatives in Congress ensured generous Pentagon budgets. When generals, active or retired, became controversial, conservative America usually could be counted on to stick with them. Flyover country supported marquee officers such as Gen. Michael Hayden, Gen. James Mattis, Gen. Barry McCaffrey, Gen. Stanley McChrystal, Gen. David Petraeus and a host of others when the media went after them for alleged unethical conduct, financial improprieties, spats with the Obama administration, or accusations of using undue force or hiding torture.

This isn't an accident. When the SHTF, the public and the military (particularly the officers) won't have any affinity toward each other.
Imagine the UN Blue Helmets patrolling the streets. It's what's being done to our military.

Our military deserves our respect and our thanks. Unfortunately, they have become much too politicized in their leadership. This started under the Bushes and little bush used them as a weapon to malign opponents of his adventures in Iraq and Afghanistan BUT Clinton and Obama used them as well. I feel sorry for those that are active and in the reserve having the current occupant in the White House as their Commander in Chief along with you those has placed in leadership roles. No, Middle America did not leave supporting the Military. The Military has become something unrecognizable just like this country.

Middle America? Today's woke military leadership has lost veterans who previously would have gone back to war to stand with it. Now, this CRT-promoting military is something we can't even recognize any more.

We, in middle America, do support our brave military. As far as the top, Gen. Mark Milley, current chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, whom I now refer to as Milley-Vanilley!! I'd love to tell him where to place that Marxist, corrosive ideology, CRT, but 'prudence being the better part of valor', I do so decline.

Oh no, the soldiers in our military will always be respected and thanked for their service. What we don't want are the woke generals who are trying to help Biden/Obama destroy them.

I have zero respect for the perfumed princes of the Pentagon. As long as our troops understand that our loyalty is to them, and we expect them to uphold the Constitution and not the wishes of these woke idiots in charge, we will all be fine.
I was more than a little distressed when so many willing accepted the unlawful orders to occupy the Capitol. Not sure how to take that, or if there was such a backlash that our troops understand how bad of a decision that was. Time will tell.

Democrat presidential administrations main focus is social engineering, controlling their radical wings, buying voters, building party power and wildly spending money.

Let the metros along the coasts - East and West - take care of our defense (ha). We'll only have ships bumping into each other and love in the barracks.
Leave the deer hunters in the South and Great Plains and Mid West to take of things how they see fit.

As an anecdote that is probably fairly common or at least not unique, my family has had an unbroken line of military members in each generation since the HMS Nancy landed in Charleston, SC from Belfast in 1767. Post revolutionary war, the menfolk who had participated were awarded acreage in Georgia, with several marrying into some local Cherokee families, prior to the Trail of Tears. My father was a career WWII, Korean War, and Vietnam vet and I followed him into the service at my earliest opportunity, first enlisting then later as an officer, joining under Nixon and serving under Ford, Carter, and Regan. Reagan brought back a lot of lost pride in our military. When my son came of age during Obama's reign, my father was in his mid-90s and neither of us were keen on the family's last remaining male entering Obama's "awakening" military, so he chose a different public service path as a cross-trained Public Safety (Police/Fire/EMS) first responder, as he worked his way through college during the all-to-short Trump administration. After the 2020 election, I didn't encourage OSC, given the illegitimate president and commander-in-chief that is Biden and his "woke" administration's military leadership team. Not even Jimmy Carter, perhaps the 2nd or 3rd worst president post-WWII, who was also a former Navy Lieutenant, was as disgraceful to our military as Biden. The people have it to do to correct this losing trajectory of our country and its military.

This is the thing i have dreaded. But it is the "raised pinkie finger" generals (how a young veteran calls them) whom politicians have made so political. I have confidence in the "rank and file" and the MOSTLY patriot members of the military to remain faithful to their Oath to the Constitution and to the American people.
My fear is that as the institutions are further corrupted, fewer and fewer of men and women of good character and dedication who love their country will enlist, will care about entering West Point and Naval Academies.
In the past, in all our wars, when embattled peoples saw soldiers bearing the American flag come over the horizon, they breathed a sigh of relief, because the reputation of the military was JUST and MERCIFUL (with rare exceptions), unlike that of the enemy who brought brutality and vengeance (and the Blue Helmets are feared, also).
I don't know where Ollie North is right now, but I would love to hear his commentary.
In the meantime, we need to get in touch with our Congressmen and tell them what we think. We'll continue to support our soldiers on the Homefront.

The question should be reversed: Has middle America lost the military?

I was very proud when my sons became Marines, and I encouraged them every step of the way.
Now, I'm not so sure, even about the USMC. Any other branch, no way in Hell.

As a ring knocker, I don't look forward to reading the monthly alumni magazine. It's Pareto Rule on steroids. Highly qualified straight white males are being denied acceptance to make room for whomever they are not. Of course, these non-White straight males are much more qualified because they get bonus points for matching whatever box is in favor at the time. The military would rather pass over numbers of good men to select the best woman available, but yet far less qualified than all the other men so they can claim how "woke" they are.

How many of today’s “woke” Admirals and Generals holding down command billets at the Pentagon have ever won a war?
When you look at especially at the Biden Generals with all the qualifications, ribbons, and medals pinned on their jackets, you would think that they are all battlefield heroes who won a lot of wars, that’s not so, but they certainly are reminiscent of the old Soviet Generals after the Second World War who were loaded down with medals and ribbons. In contrast all you have to do is look at General Eisenhower who was greatly responsible for winning the greatest war in recorded history, and when you look at Eisenhower’s “Ike” jacket that he wore at the end of the Second World War, Eisenhower only wore two rows of ribbons on that jacket.
