The NAACP on Tuesday vowed to bail out any Texas Democrat arrested by state authorities for running away from a special legislative session earlier in the week called by GOP Gov. Greg Abbott to consider, among other things, new voter integrity legislation.“War has been declared on democracy, and we will support anyone who stands up to defend it. We are fully invested in good trouble,” NAACP President Derrick Johnson said in a statement. The pledge comes after nearly 60 state Democrats boarded chartered busses and planes on Monday to intentionally deny a quorum to majority Republicans who are pushing to shore up voter integrity ahead of the 2022 elections following a

They won't be in jail. They will be taken immediately to the House chambers so that a quorum will be in effect and the vote can be taken on the election integrity law that these cowards ran away from doing their duty on!!!!

War has been declared on Democracy, and it's the Democrats who have declared it with the HR#1 trying to have a Federal take over of elections.
Of course i don't expect the NAACP to realize that they are too busy kissing the Democrat on their posteriors to actually use any brains they may have.

If they do not understand they will not be jailed, it is unlikely they understand what is in the bill - just knee jerk reaction. An agency supposedly supporting black interests is in favor of a position that makes blacks look completely incompetent.

So now the NAACP is actually working to ensure that racist stereotypes about blacks remain! Yeah, they are too lazy to get ID! But, don't they already have it? I guess the NAACP mostly cares about dead and/or imaginary voters?

They knowingly broke Texas law by running away. US Congressmen and senators took an oath to support and defend our Constitution. Which they don't want to acknowledge includes The Bill of Rights, which in turn gives the states the power to run elections. The states, NOT the federal government.

Maybe the national choir director of the NAACP can teach those dim honkies how to sing We Shall Overcome the right way. That video of them was so limp, lame and unfeelingly liberal. MLK rolled over in his grave!

NAACP, don't hold your breath. This only works if the judge doesn't grant a bail hold.

Anybody expect anything different from this fraud of an organization. Remember they're all democrats where anything that is normal is abnormal to them. These hypocrites don't have an ounce of morals or values in their system.....

Indeed, they won't be held in jail, but will be in custody at their seats in the legislature....
But if they WERE put in jail (And they should be) , set their bail at $10,000,000 cash each.
Break the NAACP financially, or prove them liars and propagandists.

I doubt that they will go to jail, they will probably be held in the Legislature while the voting happens, and then, turned loose.

Why would they be granted bail? They have already proven they are a flight risk.

Then the officers of the NAACP should be charges with interference with the legislative process, held in contempt, and arrested.

IMO Abbot should take this to the extreme along with his AG. Hold them in jail. No bail. Charges ? We’ll let you know. We are at war with the left. Have the January 6th prisoners been charged. If so we know it’s all bs. Half the country have no clue about these people Make a big stink about this Abbot Make the country aware of what is going on. As some have said in previous posts don’t free the Dems until the DC prisoners are released. This really makes me sick!

The miscreant legislators are arrested to ensure their attendance to make a quorum. This isn't an arrest in the criminal sense. There's no right to bail, no hearings...just custody. And they can even be "jailed" in the House chambers. Like Super Chicken used to tell his sidekick, "You knew the job was dangerous when you took it, Fred!"

I noticed in their picture that most of the Texas democrats appear to "people of color." Is this what should be known of "Black Privilege"? The democraps involved have enough over paid income to cover their own bail.

Given they are being arrested for fleeing, wouldn't they, by definition, be flight risks and thus not eligible for bail?

And the NAACP insists it is not a political organization and is not full of far left partisan hacks.
