Gas prices have spiked to a seven-year high after Colonial Pipeline was forced to shut off the nation's biggest fuel pipeline in the wake of a cyberattack as some fuel distributors warned of 'catastrophic' shortages across the South and Northeast. The national average for retail gasoline prices was at $2.985 as of Tuesday, according to the American Automobile Association. The last time the average gas prices were above $2.99 was back in November 2014.

Cyber attacks which cause all of an entities computer data to be encrypted until the attacker gets a fat ransom in Bitcoin and supplies a password to de-encrypt the data has been highly prevalent in the hospitals for a decade or more, so that it is almost regarded as a cost of doing business. Cyber intrusion is easy to prevent -- don't allow anyone to access your system from the internet. If a pipeline employee needs to change the working of a pumping station, he should do so in person at the station, not on his cell phone from the golf course.

But, but, but I thought that Pres. Joe Biden told Putin to stop it or else. I just don't understand???? Either he didn't tell him or Putin doesn't pay any attention to him. He probably didn't tell him. Wonder what Hillary thinks about all of this. She usually opens her big mouth about everything. Maybe they can blame Trump. Hmmmmm. Sorry, Silly thoughts about a serious national security matter. Shame on the Biden regime for letting this get out of hand. Where is our intelligence?

Another nice diversion so that the "news" networks have a good excuse to ignore the Arizona vote audit?

IMHO, these are the Xiden regime's terror tactics. Did he not shut down a pipeline on day one of his regime? He has already shown his hostility to coal, oil, and gas.
Xiden and his cronies are laughing all the way to the bank. There's more to come.

If the hackers really are apolitical, I wonder if they'll take down Facebook and Twitter or perhaps CNNABCNBCCBS.

And the Biden tax (increased gas prices) continues to grow.

"US gas prices"....Baloney. Perhaps this makes some sense from the view across the pond, but the US is a big place, and the midwest gas prices are just fine. Of course left coast gas prices are "normal insane", but that's the way it has been for many years, nothing new.

Oh, my goodness, #2! That would require more employees (Oh, NO!), and modern companies are all about having the fewest possible employees, so I doubt that they'll do that.
And my guess is that those "change[s to] the working of a pumping station," that you mentioned are happening many times per day, perhaps per hour, so not being done by cell phone. Likely being done from some central computer control station linked by the internet to all the pumping stations, who may not have any staff, or perhaps just a few maintenance guys to lube and grease the machines.

Gasoline prices were rising rapidly well before this cyber attack, and democrats don't see much of a problem except maybe it is rising faster than they'd like.

The gas prices in the midwest are NOT okay. They are almost double from a year ago.
This cyber extortion must be stopped and dealt with lethal terms. No exceptions. It has not just been"hospitals" in the past decade that have had these attacks, its small, medium and large businesses too. They have to pay millions to get the code to have access to their OWN companies. It's BS and we need make these cyber attacks stop now.

Well, OK, #12, perhaps where you live.
Here in eastern KS, gas was $1.69-$1.89 over the last year of Trump's presidency. Yesterday I purchased a tank for $2.49, a 28% increase in prices, and it has been stable at that level for a couple of months, spiked up as soon as Traitor Joe took office.
"Doubling" here would require a price of $3.58, and we are, fortunately, still far from that.

I am not hearing of the Darkside receiving any responses. We have the capability of detroying Iran nuclear sites with cyberattacks. Why is there this pause?

My license plate ends with an even number. Remember those days? The snowflake generation knows nothing about those days. The rationing back then I thought was a pain, then I found ration coupons that belonged to my grandparents from WWII.

I hope I don’t get banned for this but I am leaning toward assigning lethal hit squads a la Mossad to take out these criminals. That includes the scammers targeting elderly people with their con games. I got a call that my social security payments were going to be stopped because of my “serious illegal activities “. But they were willing to “help” me out of my difficulties.

Yes sir. Release the Kraken. We've languished a year with masks, lockdown, and protocols. Now for some attention-getting gas shortages. Next up: TP and food.

Average prices for everywhere but Pennsylvania where our dear governor wolf gouges middle class workers with outrageous gas taxes - plus outrageous turnpike fees just to get across the state.
