Preakness officials will allow Kentucky Derby winner Medina Spirit to enter Saturday's race, subject to additional testing and monitoring, after a recent blood sample from the colt was found to contain a prohibited amount of an anti-inflammatory steroid. Medina Spirit and two other horses trained by Bob Baffert will be under extra scrutiny in the days leading up to the second jewel of the Triple Crown. The Maryland Racing Commission and Baffert have agreed to the conditions for Medina Spirit, fellow Preakness runner Concert Tour and Beautiful Gift, who is expected to run in the Black-Eyed Susan Stakes on Friday.

There are ladies with large, ornate, unusual hats, mint julips, and the singing of the sad slave song, but at its heart, horse racing is not much different than professional wrestling. Miss Elizabeth could have worked either sport.

21 picograms is so close to zero as to be difficult to even provide a sensible example. So I did some math. This is very close to one eyedropper drop of something into a Olympic-sized swimming pool. How about we put one drop of lemonade into an Olympic pool, that is your 21/1,000,000,000,000 of that drug in the horse's blood stream. Does anyone really believe that had any effect?
