Gas stations from Florida to Atlanta to Virginia are closing their pumps due to a fuel shortage brought on by the Colonial Pipeline hack - and a state of emergency has been declared by the governor of North Carolina.American Airlines was adding stops to two of its long-haul flights from its Charlotte, North Carolina hub, CNBC reported, as a likely effort to conserve fuel in areas where it could run short. The 5,500 mile Colonial Pipeline was shut down on Friday evening by the company when the ransomware attack was launched. Service was gradually being restored on Monday. At least 12 other companies were also affected

Another fail of Biden’s National Cyber Security office. They are able to protect Hunters laptop but anything else is way above their level of competence.

Hopefully the pipeline will be back running in a week or less, but the worst part of this is that the enviroweenies will be telling us see, we can't rely on fossil fuels. Electric is the only way to go. Meanwhile my town is out of gas at all 6 stations.

Perhaps someone at the pipeline company might consider purchasing a clue about actual security for computers.
Step One: AIR GAP, no connection whatsoever to the computers to be protected.
Step Two: Physically remove all unibus ports, or fill them with epoxy.
many more steps but this is a good start.

Maybe I am behind the times, but I would think the first priority for our government would be to protect the country from this kind of attack. Don’t they even watch television commercials? All they need Is PC Matic. (JK)
Seriously, any company or organization should be doing everything in its power to protect its computers from hackers. I know that some hackers can get in practically anywhere. I would make that a first priority because between biowarfare and computer hacking, this is going to be a very important aspect of national security. Do we even have the grid protected? I doubt O’Biden will move quickly on this. This crisis is another example of one they they will not let go to waste. They will use it as an attempt to attack those evil fossil fuels we are so dependent on. They want us to feel the pain. However, the oil and gas companies will also use it to their advantage. Prices will soar and they will never return to normal. Before this, they had ready risen over $1 per gallon over last year. The little guy always gets the squeeze and it will trickle down to everything we purchase. Get out that old Misery Index and shine it up. We’re going to need it. When have democrats ever created an economy that is good for the middle class working men and women? Don’t expect it from this sorry bunch. They intend to use our misery as a cudgel to beat us over the head. If they can’t win our support, they will, at least, try and make us miserable.

I totally forgot about the misery index. I doubt it will be making a comeback, the media will make sure that we are not informed and what we see with our own eyes isn't real. Hence, the reason why we have to read this in a foreign press....

I don't think Xiden knows what's going on. I went to get fuel yesterday, and I told the sales person about the pipeline shutdown. She knew nothing about it. This is how I imagine Xiden to be on a daily basis. I doubt he has any curiosity about what's going on in the world. Someone probably has to feed him information while he is eating his oatmeal.

Obama, Carter, Biden. We keep changing the sequence but they still make up the bottom Three Stooges of our presidential history. To Joe's everlasting shame, he established his position in just four months. I would not be surprised at all if the Biden Clown Show ordered the CIA to plant the ransomware and blame it on the usual suspect, Russia. Yes, I have that little trust left in our corrupt government.

If they can do this to a gas pipeline they can do it to the electric grid, water and sewage and natural gas. Unfortunately, our national security agencies are more concerned with hiring intersectional pronoun-pushers than geniuses who can discern and combat the problem. The Biden administration and Democrat control of the House and Senate is but a mere 112 days old and already many states have gas lines snaking around them. I guess that's why the Bidens visited Carter. Sleepy Joe needed to know just how to recreate Carter's oh so successful administration. Can 20 percent mortgage interest rates be far behind?

Why does everything have to be computerized? Your just inviting trouble by computerization. The pipeline ran just fine for years before computers. My car ran fine before computers. I could pay my bills and do my banking before computers. I could buy something at a department store before computers. America became the wealthiest, most powerful and prosperous country on Earth before computers. Seems to me that computers have screwed up everything.

agree w #11 - smart grids make you vulnerable - in today's case to ransomware but also to solar activity. Solar events mostly just bother the nearer-polar areas but the more connected everybody is, the wider the damage can be. From what I have seen, the woke sort of instinctively feel that the Solar System is a driver of conservative propaganda and it ought to be ignored. But waitĺl you see what a really good flare can do to a "smart" grid.

Fuel shortage directly attributable to cyber hack on pipeline? Perhaps. Always a plus to deflect blame on exogenous reasons. More like panic buying going on and the refusal of the WH occupant’s refusal to waive the Jones Act (requirement for maritime shipping for US commerce must be using US-flagged vessels).

1. WH bidiot ba**ard FORCING Americans into electric cars.
Apparently, they forget that most electricity is generated with steam turbines using fossil fuels, (coal/natural gas/petroleum & he has shut down coal & the northern pipeline) nuclear, biomass, geothermal, and solar thermal energy.
2. The Pentagon, one of our largest Army bases, our largest & third largest Naval bases & 2 of our larger Marine bases are all on the eastern side of the country. The fleet may be nuclear, but the bases need gas to move equipment around.
Now, combine that info with this article & a previous article about our Generals warning us about China trying to build a base on the west coast of Africa, which will give them ease of access to (https://thehill.com/policy/defense/552331-us-general-warns-china-is-actively-seeking-to-set-up-an-atlantic-naval-base) the Atlantic & our east cost & you might realize how dangerous this really is.

They never let a crisis go to waste, and nearly every crisis is created by them and their policies. Yes, this will push more people (sheep) toward buying electric cars. Yes, this may very well have been caused by our own intelligence agencies, such as the NSA, who is supposedly a sponsor of the Dark Side hacking group. Green energy wins, Warren Buffet wins, as his BNSF rail line hauls more gasoline, the left wins as we have an energy shortage. And where was the federal cyber terrorism warriors, who we pay billions of dollars already to protect us from this type of thing? DHS? FBI? CIA? All missing in action, or too busy arresting and harassing "right-wind extremists" and "supremacists". I think we have already been held up by the Ransomware hackers. It's called the federal government.
