President Biden’s new $1.8 trillion plan to “expand the safety net” is just more Keynesian spending, on steroids. Along with the $2.3 trillion infrastructure boondoggle, it brings to $6 trillion the amount that will be spent this year. But anyone who thinks that swollen federal spending and much bigger government will help the economy return to “normal” after the virus is delusional. Not surprisingly, the media are doing strenuous PR work on Biden’s behalf. In particular, a spate of recent articles liken Biden to the late President Franklin Delano Roosevelt. A recent New York Times piece carried the headline “How

The only similarity between FDR and Biden is that they are both handicapped. FDR had polio and could not walk...Biden has dementia and can't talk. Biden is closer to Woodrow Wilson after his stroke.

In reality FDR appears to have been a mouthy economic failure who was bailed out at great expense by the Nazis in Germany and the militarists in Japan who started the Second World War.

In his speech to Congress this week, President Joe Biden heartily patted himself on the back for everything good that is happening right now. He described a country in crisis when he took office and said that “After 100 days of rescue and renewal, America is ready for a take off.” The day after Biden’s speech, the Commerce Department reported GDP growth for the first three months of this year was 6.4%. New COVID cases are on the decline, and vaccines are plentiful. So, it looks like Biden’s right, doesn’t it? Except he doesn’t deserve any credit for any of

Those foolish enough to believe that President Joe Biden would usher in a new era of peace and harmony in America must be sorely disappointed by how his administration has performed so far. If anything, people are more polarized than ever, and by constantly appeasing the far left of his party, Biden is only making matters worse. This week, the polling firm TechnoMetrica Market Intelligence launched a new “TIPP Unity Index” to track just how divided the nation is. The finding is that a mere 33% say the country is united, while 61% think it’s divided. In other words, the

The COVID-19 pandemic has been terrible for the nation. But it has been very, very good to President Joe Biden. It won him the presidency. It opened the door to massive liberal spending plans. It is propping up his approval ratings. No wonder he continues to play up the risks, and why he’s never going to claim victory … until it serves his political purposes. Last week, Biden was on a video chat with other world leaders to talk about the so-called climate crisis. On the call were the heads of Germany, the United Kingdom, Italy, France, Russia, and many

John Kerry said earlier this month that we’ve reached “the last best opportunity we have to get real and serious” about global warming. What’s the difference between him and a loon walking down Manhattan’s Fifth Avenue wearing one of those sandwich boards proclaiming the end of the world is nigh? We’re struggling to see any. Kerry, the Biden administration’s special presidential envoy for climate – an office that amounts to much less than a bucket of warm spit – is part of a chorus of fearmongering that goes back more than three decades. “In 1989 the United Nations gave us 10 years

Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin was found guilty Tuesday of all counts against him in the death of George Floyd. It’s possible that the jurors believed that the evidence showed he is truly guilty of a pair of murder charges and one count of manslaughter. But what if they convicted him simply to avoid riots? Unless the jurors agree to talk about their deliberations and share their inner thoughts, we’ll never know if they surrendered to the mob and convicted a man whose guilt they had doubts about. So we’re left to always wonder. Fox News’ Greg Gutfeld was exactly

On Tuesday, the public learned that Capitol Police Officer Brian Sicknick died of natural causes. Just a few days before that, the public learned that the “Russian Bounty” story was fake. In other words, in the span of a week, the “newspaper of record” has been exposed for grossly misleading the public about two major stories — both designed to discredit President Donald Trump. And the mainstream press still has the audacity to label conservative news sites as unreliable? Start with Sicknick. The New York Times was the paper that reported he’d been killed by a pro-Trump protester who threw a

We thought it was a breakthrough of sorts when President Joe Biden finally threw in the towel and admitted he had created a “crisis” on the nation’s border. Alas, just one day later, the White House issued a “clarification.” He was really just talking about Central America, not the border. So it’s now official: Biden is the worst president for protecting our border ever. We don’t take that charge lightly. But how else can you describe a man who takes a problem that was for all intents and purposes fixed and, within the space of a mere three months, turns

How did this happen? How did the nation go in an instant from disbelieving every utterance of Donald Trump to robotically repeating — and acting on — every claim that falls out of Joe Biden’s mouth, no matter how disconnected from the truth? The most glaring example involves Biden’s fact-challenged tirade against Georgia’s new voting law. At his first and only press conference, Biden declared the state’s efforts to protect against voter fraud were worse than Jim Crow, “un-American,” “sick,” and “despicable.” (This was the same press conference where moments later Biden bragged about how much time he’s spent with China’s genocidal communist dictator before calling him “a smart, smart guy.”)

By far, the worst idea for a post-COVID-19 “reset” is the vaccine passport. The idea is that anyone who wants to travel, attend a concert or sports event, go to the theater, hold a family gathering, or perhaps even eat in a restaurant will need a “passport” proving they’re COVID-19 Clean. Who knew that authoritarianism would show up wearing a white medical smock? Don’t worry. They’ll tell you that it’s all for your safety. The bogey-man, er, virus, is ready to spring at you again from the dark. But you really must be able to prove that you’re worthy of

The FDA and the CDC have halted use of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine, a conventional one-shot anti-COVID-19 preventative, because a handful of people have had nasty side effects. Are they following the science, or something else? No one likes secondary effects of vaccines. It’s a big reason why nearly a third of all people refuse to take any vaccine. But in the case of the J&J vaccine, one possible secondary effect can be quite scary: A small number of people develop a rare form of blood clots. So how many? Six. That’s out of more than 6.8 million people

The story of more than 100 CEOs meeting to attack the voting laws the left is screeching over is discouraging. The healthy separation between civil society and politics has grown dangerously thin, and these “leaders” are threatening to punch right through the tattered fabric. Sunday afternoon the Wall Street Journal reported that senior executives had “gathered on Zoom this weekend to plot what several said big businesses should do next about new voting laws under way in Texas and other states.” A pair of Kenneths, Chenault, former American Express CEO, and Frazier, CEO of Merck, “urged the leaders to collectively

Joe Biden’s administration, seeking deep cuts to planet-heating emissions, is facing pressure to take a previously unthinkable step: declare the end of the internal combustion engine in the US. Washington state has moved to call time on the age of gasoline and diesel cars, with the legislature passing a goal that new car sales be only zero-emission vehicles from 2030, including out of state purchases that are then imported. The legislation now awaits to signature of Governor Jay Inslee, a Democrat who previously ran for president on the climate crisis platform. While not a strict mandate, the Washington bill is

Host Craig Melvin asked Biden if he was going to stop wearing his mask outdoors given the new CDC guidance saying that vaccinated people can stop wearing masks outside. “Sure, I mean, but what I’m going to do though because the likelihood of my being able to be outside and people not come up to me is not very high so it’s like look, you and I took our masks off when I came in.

U.S. resistance to getting a COVID-19 vaccine is slowly diminishing, a new online survey finds, but it still exists and at especially high rates in some blue-collar jobs -- and nearly half of respondents are worried about side effects. For adults under age 65 who are hesitant, reluctance is mainly driven by concerns about safety, side effects and distrust in government, the poll found. It's also largely linked to people's line of work. The bottom line: "Vaccine hesitancy is emerging as a key barrier to ending the COVID-19 pandemic," said lead author Wendy King, associate professor of epidemiology in the University of Pittsburgh Graduate School of Public Health.

He was accused of lighting a Molotov cocktail that another person threw at the Third Precinct headquarters in Minneapolis. He now faces four years in prison and a whopping fine for the damages to the police station -- a penalty Robinson’s lawyer argues he will never be able to pay.

The Transportation Security Administration announced Friday it will extend a federal mandate that requires people to wear masks in transportation settings, including at airports, on commercial aircraft and on commuter bus and rail systems, through Sept. 13. The initial requirement went into effect Feb. 1 and was set to expire May 11. “The federal mask requirement throughout the transportation system seeks to minimize the spread of COVID-19 on public transportation,” Darby LaJoye, the senior official performing the duties of the TSA administrator, said in a statement. “About half of all adults have at least one vaccination shot and masks remain an important tool in defeating this pandemic.”
