John Kerry said earlier this month that we’ve reached “the last best opportunity we have to get real and serious” about global warming. What’s the difference between him and a loon walking down Manhattan’s Fifth Avenue wearing one of those sandwich boards proclaiming the end of the world is nigh? We’re struggling to see any. Kerry, the Biden administration’s special presidential envoy for climate – an office that amounts to much less than a bucket of warm spit – is part of a chorus of fearmongering that goes back more than three decades. “In 1989 the United Nations gave us 10 years

They will never stop and never learn. I once got into a discussion with a leftist on Disqus and pointed out that not one of their doom predictions of the last 50 years had actually come to pass. His response - it doesn’t matter; we’re still doomed. As with everything the left does - it’s all about the Benjamins.

The solution set for all "Liberal" problems is Gooberment control of everything. The Left needs big problems and imaginary problems are even better. Solving a problem is wasting an asset. Aggravating a problem is easier, more profitable and much more fun.

we don't have to "save" the planet. the planet has gone through many, many climatic cycles and will continue to go through many, many more. why can't scientists just acknowledge that the planet always was and was not created by some "big bang" event, X number of earth years ago? it's the same comparison as when they talk about the Universe "expanding" and the logical way to look at that is to just admit that there is no end to the Universe and all things are moving in an orderly way, in a vacuous medium. the Universe always was, is now and always will be because that's the way it is. nothing complicated about it.

When I was young in the 1970's, we were all going to freeze because of Global Cooling and the coming Ice Age. Then I was told that by time I was going to be in my 20-30's, cities like NYC and Miami would be under water due to rising sea levels. Somewhere along the line solar flares were going to also do something horrible to communications and the power grid. We were also going to run out of fish in the ocean and the farmland in the middle of the US was supposed to turn o dust resulting in mass starvation. Of course, we are all still alive, there is a lot of food, and Miami is a growing city and NYC is till there (but needs to be washed away). We still have communication and power and there is no Ice age. The only change in the weather has been the regular change in the seasons which has been happening every year forever. The Chicken Little doomsayers have been wrong on every prediction of catastrophe.

They have been setting deadlines for 30+ years. Many of their "end of the world" deadlines have come and passed without ANY bad effect, and without ANY of their predictions coming true. They LIE. NOTHING that they predicted has happened. Not one thing. Things are perking along just fine here on Planet Earth, pretty much the same as always. We've been coming off of the Little Ice Age, in the short term, which ended about 1700s, so some warming from that. And the longer term is that we are in an interglacial period, between ice ages, which are 'glacials'. We are about 12,000 years into our interglacial, which is a pleasant period between 40,000 to 100,000 year ice ages. Since we are coming off a REAL ice age, that means an interglacial warming period, and also from the Little Ice Age, when the Thames froze every year and crop failures caused a lot of starvation, so we have had some glacial melting, but overall things are really nice, and stable, climate-wise. Nothing mankind does has any significant effect on the climate, and the climate is pretty stable. All their stories are BS.

Who Gets To Define What’s Patriotic? 7 replies

Last week, President Joe Biden said it’s the patriotic duty of Americans to wear masks while outside. Years ago, while campaigning as Barack Obama’s running mate, he said it was patriotic to pay higher taxes. It’s hard to decide if these statements are more akin to the ramblings of a child or are uncomfortably similar to Third World despots who demand obedience from their subordinated citizens. Frankly, they’re both. Making a distinction is virtually impossible. When we hear Biden try to force his view of patriotism on the country, we think of Woody Allen’s “Bananas,”

In his speech to Congress this week, President Joe Biden heartily patted himself on the back for everything good that is happening right now. He described a country in crisis when he took office and said that “After 100 days of rescue and renewal, America is ready for a take off.” The day after Biden’s speech, the Commerce Department reported GDP growth for the first three months of this year was 6.4%. New COVID cases are on the decline, and vaccines are plentiful. So, it looks like Biden’s right, doesn’t it? Except he doesn’t deserve any credit for any of

President Biden’s new $1.8 trillion plan to “expand the safety net” is just more Keynesian spending, on steroids. Along with the $2.3 trillion infrastructure boondoggle, it brings to $6 trillion the amount that will be spent this year. But anyone who thinks that swollen federal spending and much bigger government will help the economy return to “normal” after the virus is delusional. Not surprisingly, the media are doing strenuous PR work on Biden’s behalf. In particular, a spate of recent articles liken Biden to the late President Franklin Delano Roosevelt. A recent New York Times piece carried the headline “How

Those foolish enough to believe that President Joe Biden would usher in a new era of peace and harmony in America must be sorely disappointed by how his administration has performed so far. If anything, people are more polarized than ever, and by constantly appeasing the far left of his party, Biden is only making matters worse. The finding is that a mere 33% say the country is united, while 61% think it’s divided. In other words, the

Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin was found guilty Tuesday of all counts against him in the death of George Floyd. How did this happen? How did the nation go in an instant from disbelieving every utterance of Donald Trump to robotically repeating — and acting on — every claim that falls out of Joe Biden’s mouth, no matter how disconnected from the truth? The most glaring example involves Biden’s fact-challenged tirade against Georgia’s new voting law. At his first and only press conference, Biden declared the state’s efforts to protect against voter fraud were worse than Jim Crow, “un-American,” “sick,” and “despicable.” (This was the same press conference where moments later Biden bragged about how much time he’s spent with China’s genocidal communist dictator before calling him “a smart, smart guy.”)
