BROOKLYN CENTER, Minn. — As the pressure built to fire the suburban Minneapolis police officer who killed a 20-year-old Black man during an altercation after a traffic stop, the officer Tuesday morning said she would resign from her position effective immediately. Similarly, the chief of the city’s police department also tendered his resignation, according to the city’s mayor. Kim Potter’s resignation was announced by Law Enforcement Labor Services, a labor union. “Due to the ongoing investigation being conducted, Law Enforcement Labor Services is unable to provide any additional information or statements,” the statement from LELS said. If the entire community is going to go berserk for the accidental death of an apparent lifetime criminal, who worried about being killed by police, then put into motion a reason for the police to injure or kill him, then the community needs more help than the police can provide. Perhaps reeducation camps so they can learn to live within the law.

Of course, Officer Potter was identified. But we’ll never know the name of the affirmative action cop who murdered Ashli Babbitt.

Did Officer Kimberly Potter have an otherwise 25 year spotless record? Just one poor decision destroys all of her years of possibly positive service. The same can also be said for the Chief of Police. What did he do wrong? What did the City Manager do wrong to deserve to be fired over this incident? He called for people to let the justice system to play out in this case. He called for following the law. He was fired for doing his job. The knee jerk reactions and woke cowering to the feral mobs by the Mayor and Minnesota Governor are disgusting. Their comments are adding fuel to the flames of the protests and riots, not helping to clam them. Duante did not deserve to be shot. He also should not have resisted arrest and tried to escape. He had an arrest warrant for a previous incident. He is not necessarily the model citizen that he is being portrayed as.

The reason the Police Chief was let go is because he called the riots a riot. Can’t do that. Has to be called a peaceful protest so insurance payments can be paid out. This is also why the DC protest is called a riot. The people being accused of rioting can not collect ins payments of any kind. Media knows this. So do the dems

The lumber shortage is getting worse. On Tuesday, the price per thousand board feet of lumber soared to an all-time high of $1,359, according to Random Lengths. Since the onset of the pandemic, the price of lumber has skyrocketed 280%. For weeks, Fortune has relayed a similar message to readers: The price of lumber is likely to continue posting new all-time highs this spring. To the ire of home builders and DIYers alike, that prediction continues to be right. And signs point to this all-time high soon getting topped too. On Tuesday, the July futures contract price per thousand board

As expected, Rep. Charlie Crist announced today that he will run for governor of Florida. Crist, a former Republican, is one of the biggest charlatans in American politics, in my view. Crist will have company in the quest for the Democratic nomination. Agriculture Commissioner Nikki Fried, the only Democrat to recently win statewide in Florida, and Rep. Val Demings, a House impeachment manager, are considered likely to join him. The Democratic nominee will have plenty of resources with which to take on the Republican incumbent, Ron DeSantis. Seasonal influenza, also known as “the flu,” visits America every year, similar to tornados, thunderstorms, heat waves, and snowstorms. As tracked by the CDC, over the past decade symptomatic flu cases ranged from 9 to 45 million cases per year in the US. Hospitalizations varied from 140 to 810 thousand, and deaths from 12 to 61 thousand, depending on the particular year, strain of influenza, and effectiveness of the vaccine. This year, “flu activity is unusually low at this time” according to CDC surveillance.
