It's Time to Call the Bluff of These Woke Corporations,
Here's How to Make Them Pay
Red State,

Yesterday, news broke that somewhere around 100 companies joined a private conference call to discuss how to combat red states that dare have reasonable regulations around voting. This is, of course, all stemming from the lies surrounding Georgia’s recent election reform law (see here and here for more details on that).
The companies involved included such mainstays as Coca-Cola, United Airlines, Wal-Mart, AMC Theaters, and Aflac. Apparently, this entire “conflab” was put together by Jeffrey Sonnefeld, a Yale professor. As per our usual arrangement, this garbage starts in our ivy league schools.
Let me explain how this works. These woke activists get the leaders
Shame on all of them. AFLAC still have a PAC office in DC ?

I and seven family members have had AFLAC cancer policies for many years. Fortunately, we've never yet had to file a claim although we have all benefited from their outstanding 'annual wellness' benefit plan. I'm so disappointed this fine company has gone woke but couldn't imagine canceling our plans in protest.

#3, we all have circulating tumor cells, just continue what you have learned from your annual wellness check up and you should be fine. As my integrative doctor has proved, cancer is curable. Eat and live healthy.

FTA: "Well, let’s give them their wish. Mitch McConnell should call up Joe Biden and say he’s got a deal on raising the corporate tax rate as long as it’s only on the Fortune 500"
It would be an effective strategy if Mitch or the republican party in general gave a damn about us. Never happen, they are as corrupt as the democrats--only less honest since they claim to oppose that which they never really oppose.

#3, I agree, McConnell is worthless as are the majority of Republicans representing us. They are all in this together and after they are elected their sole focus is re-election so they can enjoy the benefits of living on the dole. Welfare is welfare whether you are on the subsidy, housing, health care, and food stamp end or on the perks and benefits of “public service” that make you filthy rich end. The government is their daddy and they quite like it. The money and benefits flow because of hard working over taxed Americans and they concern you least of all.
This marriage of government and corporations is a similar replication of the kind of relationship that communist China has with their corporations. It’s all very cozy and slyly oppressive. While the companies make profit, they also have made a deal with the Devil. They are not free to run their companies because government is always there watching and making sure they behave. They have the illusion of being somewhat capitalistic but that is all it is, an illusion. Clearly the old communist slogan is finding a home here: Everything in the State. Nothing outside the State. Nothing against the state. And our free market companies are eating this garbage up. They have been courting one another for decades and now have decided to marry. The honeymoon is sweet but they will eventually learn they have willingly committed to an abusive and demanding monster with control issues.

It's very concerning that a very small group of CEOs & people in congress are running the country ....they represent millions of voters & stockholders????? Once upon a time congress broke up ATT& T & other large corporations...now they encourage takeovers???

I am all for punishing these woke corporations. Unfortunately, once again American consumers will get those tax hikes passed onto them by the corporations. Also, the dems have pulled off a magnificent divide and conquer strategy, and I'm sure these companies are looking at polls that tell them half the people in the country either agree with their "woke" actions or won't bother to do anything about them even if they disagree.

As Joan Jett sang. you don't lose when you lose fake friends. If these woke CEOs insist on sucking up to the rabid left, then it's time for the GOP to walk away from the toxic relationship with these CEOs.

The author writes that "woke activists get the leaders of these companies on a call and basically let them know that if they don’t bend the knee that things will get worse for them."
I believe these calls are not being made by "woke activists" but by someone much more sinister. It is astonishing how quickly these powerful CEO's immediately fall in line. I wonder what is really going on.

Global corporations do not have the best interests of American in mind. They listen to other globalists, who look at America as only one area in their globalist goals. The dems are good at threatening corporations, and the CEO's know that democrat forces like antifa and BLM could ascend on them in minutes. Wokeness will hurt these corporations in America, but not worldwide. As to soft drinks, private brands are much less expensive, and often just as good.

Easy to boycott when I don't use any of these services or products. I told my wife we don't have to boycott much in the store because we never use most of the 'woke' products like Coca Cola. Right now the CEOs believe they are on the winning side bedding down with the communist left. We will see it's a false security blanket thinking the alligator will eat them last like Target thinks.

Yeah, let's see the entire list. I will no longer fly United unless no other choice. Same for Delta. Walmart, you are history in my house. Of course, we don't do fakebook or tweeter. No bank accounts with bank of america. I do have a checking account at Chase that is dormant. About to close it. I don't use google. Stopped doing business with Disney-owned hotels and don't consume its programming. No Apple products at my house. And forgot about the nba and nfl long ago. I hope baseball doesn't get woke but, it will.

Do you think these CEOs got their high dollar position based on being the smartest one in the room?
They got their spot handed to them as a card carrying member of the Swamp. (For the love of money is the root of all evil. I Timothy 6:10)
Zuckerberg looks like he might be smart enough to be a pencil pusher in HR somewhere. But instead he got handed an investment and a boost to his technology in exchange for loyalty.... the same day the government shut down a similar DARPA population surveillance project called Lifelog.

Interesting... it goes to prove that the fake media has more power than I thought... but...they spun a narrative that election laws can determine the final vote by cheating... me thinks they protest toooo much....election laws are in place to secure a lawful vote... not a manufactured vote...so bring it on...I quit coke and Pepsi and flying around in crowded airplanes.. and Walmart has been off my list for a year already...so keep the company names coming... I'll act accordingly...no money to the Republican Party... only directly to President Trump... little by little ...WE shall overcome!!

We as a family have avoided wallyworld, coke and we use to make several flights a year but now drive. The problem is the silver spoon ivy league types at pepsi jump in it is hard to cut all these enlightened multi multi millionaires off. In the last year the number of times we have put back products made in China virusland doesn't seem to work as a boycott as the trade deficit is growing faster which is what the elected President Trump tried to reverse.

My parents were naturalized citizens, so I remember how important it was for them to vote. Sometimes I'd go with them. My father did not own a car, so we'd walk up the avenue to Hess' candy store and I'd sit at the counter and have a soda while they went to the back of the store to vote. No big deal. One and done, but they always made sure they voted.
These "woke" corporations are trying to diminish the simplicity of Georgia's Election Integrity Law with their fuzzy phrases: "voter restriction", "anti-democratic", "sustaining democracy", "false premise", "protecting leadership"; my Irish immigrant father, with six years of Christian Brothers' education, would know they were trying to con him. I am not even sure what they find illegitimate about the law, and I wouldn't be surprised if some of these Captains of Industry, who are doing the complaining, are not even American citizens. Why do they think it wrong to have to prove you are who you say you are: an American citizen who is registered to vote in a particular district on election day? We have a legal right to fair and honest elections. My parents took it as a given.
I saw an April 6, 2021 article by The Graham Allen Team, entitled, "200 Woke Companies Deliver Response to Georgia Voting Bill". We should let them know that we will hold off doing business with any of them until they can be more precise about their reasons for being so against Georgia's Integrity in Election Law.

It is time to get activist about this. Consider how you will vote for the directors of any company. Consider attending the corporate meeting and voting against any 'woke' management. The left has been activist in corporate elections for years. It is time for the right to begin. The fact is there are probably many more stockholders on the right than on the left.

PJMedia appears to have a list of the 100 but you have to be a subscriber.
That’s a lot of companies and I will have to find that list and go through it carefully to see what products of theirs I purchase. I’ve been done with some of them for years already, like Disney. But these companies own lots of the marketplace and it gets complicated.
I have stopped shopping at several places that were mainstays for me but who angered me over their virtue signaling after Jan 6, and those who stopped selling MyPillow. So these include Bed bath and beyond, kohls, walmart/sams club.
Almost didn't renew BJs but saw that mypillow is available on their website.
Plus the most evil, Amazon, for what they did to Parler and for banning books.
Already boycott Paypal because they pulled out of NC when NC passed the ‘bathroom law’ several years ago. Disgusted at that.
I really hope my regular grocery stores decide to stay out of this kind of thing. !

I expected to read how we, as individuals, can make them pay, but nothing about that. Congress would have to be the ones to act on that. All we can do is boycott these companies. Or perhaps someone with the persuasive abilities could call these CEOs and warn them of what the public feels about their actions. A boycott, along with some (bad) publicity, just might persuade them to change their tunes. Or at the least it would make us feel better that someone has tried!

Conservatives usually don’t have the time to protest but those are the optics that work. Protesting at these headquarters would have some effect. Although I think these corporations mainly want the Chinese market and are cozying up to the Democrats to make sure they have unfettered access to it. There is money in it for them somewhere.

Doing my part to not patronize any of these "woke" dumbbells but breaking away from Wally World is the toughest because of the low prices and it saves miles of driving around. They have successfully pushed most of the competition out of small towns. I can get most of what I need by seeking local meat markets and feed stores. Oddly enough their stock price is also dropping.
Asking the Republican Party to resist anything is futile because they are born doormats. This fight must be engaged by We the People. Mitch and the rest of the Uniparty are history. I received a sender-disguised letter yesterday from the GOP asking for loyalty and of course, money. Rona's big title had the word "Unity" in it. Into the trash it went.

Look at this way. In the future our savings are likely to be worth less because of all the excessive spending and debt we are racking up. That means we should save our money, and spend less on things that aren't really necessary. The top of that list should be products and services produced by woke corporations are are part of the problem.
Save your money folks! You are going to need it for essentials.

These businesses see the crocodile of communism on its way into power and hope that, by acting "woke," it will eat them last.
Problem is, these American commies have unlimited ammo to kill way more than Mao's 65 million or Lenin's 66 million.
For those who live long enough to survive the takeover by the puppetmasters of the woke, the blm, the 4th-wave feminists, the ect., will be eyewitnesses of the destruction of our means of production, our industry, our businesses in general.
The useful idiots of these puppetmasters cannot build a thing, but their hidden masters will build slavery for all the proles who are too scared to get out of line (riot, loot, arson).
The blm and woke crowd wouldn't even recognize the ideal gov't of their own puppetmasters IF they were allowed to live in it.
But commie regimes ALWAYS kill off their violent, outspoken useful idiots prior to consolidating all power to themselves.

Raising corporate taxes just means they charge consumers more for their goods and services, thereby raising inflation. Bad move.
What corporations fear more than anything is government busting up their monopolies or imposing regulations...
- Perhaps it's time for Coca-Cola's highly guarded recipe to be forced into disclosure over FDA health concerns?
- Perhaps it's time for all AMC Theaters to remain shut down over the NIH's COVID fears?
- Perhaps it's time for United Airlines to immediately retire all their climate harming, CO2 spewing legacy jet fleet?

We could start a campaign stating each of these companies/organizations are against fair and legal elections and that they actively campaign against them. That they want a Cuba/Iraqi style election where the peoples opinion doesn't matter and "we'll elect who we damn well please".
We cold do that, but who'd carry the news? There's not a single fair, balanced, or truthful media outlet left in this country.

#25 & #33 have this right. In reality, a corporation (or any business, really) doesn't pay these taxes. The tax is a cost of doing business, like any other cost, e.g., power use, cost of raw materials, labor, etc. The tax is passed on to the consumer - us - and we are the ones who pay in reality. Raising corporate taxes is like shooting yourself in the foot. Just don't buy or use their products or services. I'm willing to pay a higher price and shop around to boycott them.

I read the article. I didn’t see anything in it that would make the woke corporations pay. So I’ll tell you how.
Buy a single share of stock. Go to the shareholders meeting. Stand up and demand the CEO’s resign for putting politics over profits. If enough people start doing this maybe some heads will roll and upper management will see the light.
