They say some people have the gift of the gab, but for Prince Philip he definitely had the gift of the gaffe. The Duke, who has died aged 99, became iconic for his eyebrow-raising remarks, including saying to a British student in China, in 1986: “If you stay here much longer, you’ll go home with slitty eyes.” While watching Elton John singer at the Royal Variety Performance he was also heard saying: "I wish he'd turn the microphone off." Meow! As we celebrate the life of Philip, who was devoted to Queen and country, we share some of his iconic quotes...

Gaffes -- not to me. He was someone who spoke his mind with a real sense of humor. But that is not allowed in our modern politically correct and cancel culture -- I'll take his culture over the current culture any day. Idiots today wear their "feelings" on their shirt sleeves and are always looking for something to be offended by. To H with them.

He is quoted about Tom Jones a lot. He obviously understood0 the difference between a singer and a performer, and bet he and Jones got along just fine. I'm sixty. In his day and age, he would have been considered, droll. I can see why they're shocking to the current nitwits. Too truthful and too truthful.

Black model Jodie Turner-Smith is set to play 16th-century Queen of England Anne Boleyn, who was, of course, a white woman. The head-scratching choice tore the Internet apart, many suggesting it amounted to cultural appropriation. [snip] Social media quickly began overflowing with complaints about Turner-Smith playing a white queen. Commenters demanded “historical accuracy” and called it “cultural appropriation” – a term usually used when white people emulate other cultures. Many said that, logically, the Turner-Smith casting as Boleyn should be no more acceptable than a white person playing a well-known black historical figure.

The Walt Disney Corporation has ordered all headquarters employees to attend seminars that inject critical race theory, “systemic racism,” “white privilege,” and “white fragility” into their training. The way that City Journal’s Christopher Rufo describes what’s contained in the whistleblower documents he received from several Disney employees suggests the training regimen is designed to elicit guilt and shame from white employees while falsifying history. In truth, it’s beyond belief. Disney’s theme parks may be known as “The Happiest Place on Earth,” but you have to wonder for how long.

Visitors to Dracula's castle are being jabbed with needles rather than fangs after a Covid-19 vaccine centre has been set up at the Transylvanian site. Medics with fang stickers on their scrubs are offering Pfizer shots to everyone who visits the 14th-century Bran Castle in central Romania. It is part of a government drive to encourage more Romanians to get jabbed. Some believe the castle inspired the vampire's lair in Bram Stoker's iconic novel Dracula. Romania has recorded just over a million infections since the pandemic began, and nearly 29,000 deaths.

The Obamas have “announced a new season of their Higher Ground podcast called “Tell Them, I Am,” (snip) Thus the Obamas, in their truly infinite wisdom, have decided that since we Americans are so persistent in our racism that we voted for Trump (twice), we need to be reminded that Muslims are lovable, even cuddly, despite being Muslim and brown.

Why do so many Americans, probably a majority of the 74 million who voted for him, view Donald Trump and Trumpservatism as their only hope? (Snip) President Donald Trump and his allies are likely the only politicians who can effectively clean up the mess even two years of Democrat power will leave behind, let alone four. If you put that mess in the hands of, say, a Ben Sasse, or John Thune, or Jeb Bush—or even a Mitch McConnel, be prepared to live in it for the foreseeable future; they will fritter around the edges and the damage will be a leftist fait accompli.

A critical race studies and ethnic studies professor at the University of Colorado-Boulder says Americans wondering why Black citizens commit anti-Asian hate crimes have an answer: “White supremacy.” The educational watchdog Campus Reform spotlighted the commentary of Jennifer Ho, which preceded President Biden’s newly signed legislation aimed at combatting hate crimes against Asian Americans. “Anti-Asian racism has the same source as anti-Black racism: White supremacy,” Ms. Ho wrote for The Conversation. “So when a Black person attacks an Asian person, the encounter is fueled perhaps by racism, but very specifically by White supremacy. White supremacy does not require a White person to perpetuate it.”

Oregon has gone from a liberal hell hole to 1930s Germany overnight. The CDC last week updated its mask guidance and said fully vaccinated people no longer need to wear masks indoors. In order to prevent the unvaccinated from walking around unmasked, Oregon health officials are now creating a caste system by marking the unvaxxed lepers. “Businesses, employers and faith institutions now have the option to adjust their masking guidance to allow fully vaccinated individuals to no longer wear a mask in their establishments,” OHA’s website said.
