The man accused of trying to extort $25 million from Rep. Matt Gaetz’s family admitted Monday that he asked the congressman’s dad for cash — but denied that it was a shakedown.Bob Kent, an ex-Air Force intelligence officer, confirmed to Sirius Radio host Michael Smerconish that he approached the Florida Republican’s dad, Don Gaetz, for money last month. The funds, Kent said, were to pay for an effort to free Robert Levinson, a former FBI agent who disappeared in Iran in 2007, and is believed to be dead. Kent claimed he has video evidence that Levinson is still alive and is being held hostage.

That's a creative defense for what's obviously an extortion attempt. Give me 25 million to show good will while I investigate your son.
Only a liberal would buy that line of reasoning and illogic.

It wasn't blackmail - - he was just selling "protection."

Well. At least these headlines took off everyone's attention from Hunter's laptop.

If the so-called FBI man is either dead or missing in Iran, nobody is stupid enough to think Iran would be interested in only a few million dollars. For that kind of money you'd have to go to the Clinton's!

I don't think it was Democrats wanting Matt Gaetz out of Congress...I believe it was Mitch McConnell, Minority Leader of the Swamp Creatures. People like Matt who go after Mitch's buddy, Liz Cheney, will always be a target of the Swamp...and this won't be the last effort to get Matt.

Well #5 if I wasn't a complete idiot I'd be inclined to believe that was its purpose.

It sure sounded like extortion to me. I know that Matt is a very BIG critic of Liz Cheney. Could her dad, DICK, be part of this plot to out Matt? Just shows that Washington Dc is the dirtiest, most corrupt area in the entire U.S. The establishment owns all the filth.

If half the rumors about Matt Gaetz’s slimy sexual games are true — purely apart from the issue with the 17-year old — I’d like to see him go. Yes, he is a great spokesman for conservative principles, but a compromised spokesman taints the message by association. It’s not fair, but that’s reality.

With the FBI, the Democrat's national police force and the Dept of Just-Us on the case, Gaetz goes down. If the FBI and DOJ-U can almost take down a president, imagine how easy it is to take down a congressmen.

If Gaetz had a "D" after his name, his purported behavior would be a badge of honor.

Bob Kent said that Gaetz's legal problems would disappear, if he gave Bob kent $25 million. Gaetz's father recorded the shakedown, so Bob Kent cannot deny his own words. You now have some legal problems of your own, Bob Kent.

I understand Mr. Gaetz, the Congressman, is a single man and as such is afforded such opportunities to entertain consenting women of legal age as he wishes. He hasn't made any claims that he is a celebate monk; seems I remember some banter on FOX one night about a young lady (again, I assume consenting and of legal age) at hot tub at Mar-o-Largo and that you'd have to buy his book to learn about it.
As for the extortion, well, it seems our Democrat friends are celebrating most lawbreakers (ie, rioters with the exception of those traitors who busted a window or two on Jan 6 and forced a Capitol Hill cop to shoot an unarmed woman, illegal aliens, thieves, drug abusers and political bagmen like the Biden family, and extorters like these folks, among others).

#8 So if the Swamp and Leftist tell twice as many lies, you will believe half of them and take out our own people to save the Dems the trouble? We have evidence that they lied and tried to extort him. You have their accusations that he did anything wrong. When have their accusations ever been anything but bunk?

So, folks from the Dept of Injustice are also extortionists, in addition to being traitors, liars and corrupt.

This is about keeping him out of politics. They tried to do a number on Ronnie D and that blew up in their face.
